@@adkd85 all Samsung phones have struggled with video calls for a while, think its an android thing. You saw in this test how much charge they all lost in the zoom call.

thanks for doing an s21 test, everyone is focused on the ultra which isn't what most peopl are interested in! I have the s20 and if I knew how about the exynous cheap is I would have never bought it. I noticed batter is aweful after 2 days way before everybody started testing in, even in normal everyday usage you can feel it. btw, mine loses 12% overnight with nothing in the background!
YES Darius. Standby time is soooo important and reviewers seem to forget it. You never use your phone nonstop getting ridiculous 8-10 hours SOT, standby drain makes up a good chunk of battery drain. Thanks for incorporating this into your test

Apple is great at optimizing iOS extremely well for their few devices, which is the reason why the iPhone 12 performed so well here. Imagine if they made an iPhone with let's say a 5000mAh battery. It would be INSANE. I've actually been thinking about switching to iOS, but the lack of customisation options and fun experimental features are stopping me. Still through, iPhones stay up to date for way longer than most other devices, plus they feel polished and pleasant to use, so we'll see about my next phone...

for sure man,i mean i really think so but it depends on one thing,I don t know if the adaptive refresh works when you re on 60hz,it could depend on that cause when you re using the adaptive refresh rate on 120hz,the refresh goes down to around 40hz when you don t need it,so that's why it might take less battery consumption than the full time 60hz,but idk I m just saying.

My s21 lost over 15% on standby overnight. I must have a faulty device. This same device was overheating and had a screen defect(dead pixels and such).

I have Samsung s20 ultra. I play always music from RUclips. Starting in the morning until evening, the battery is very Impressive. My phone is already 2 years but still the performance of the battery are nice. I would say better than Samsung s20.
Even that the iphone 12 won, it's not 100% fair as it has 60hz and has a little bit smaller screen. BUT I have to say that apple is doing great job as it has a much smaller battery than all the other phones there. And IOS helps a lot.

one thing to consider...is that your iphone 12 has a yellowish tone to the screen which will save more battery than the normal whites that other phones have.. and would like to know if you turned off the 120hz display on samsung or not.

Sony wins by far. Being set to 120Hz constantly throughout the entire test, and still lasted for more than 8 hours is a testament of how well the 5 II was optimized. How come Samsung's variable 120Hz display and more efficient 5nm SoC still can't beat Sony's last year's flagship? 😂

Perhaps the only channel to do standby test too! Yes, by switching to 60hz Sony would most likely take 1st place. iPhone might even take 3rd behind s21. I don't agree about Snapdragon vs Exynos. I think since Samsung chose to mess with the non-US market and give them exynos, then they get to be tested with it.

There is something inheritantly wrong with these battery percentages. Just doesnt make sense to run 2 hours for 20 percent and then another 2 for 50 percent...
I think in this battle the android devices performed well except for the c20. The 120 Hz screen is cool but very gluttonous, it would be everywhere 60 Hz the very first iPhone would ask.

By default you cannot force 120Hz at 1440p on Galaxy S20, only at 1080p - so which one was tested then?

Could the eye shield have been on the iphone looks more dark than all others every phone have the same lighting except the iphone .. i wonder if it helped with batterie life on the test ? :)

Did u compare new phone? Cuz used phone with older battery will of course have a less interesting result than completely new phone.
