Being raised Western/Christian, I love how these pointers of non duality make so much more sense out of the questioning of the Bible, what Jesus was saying. I no longer reject him at all & it has brought peace into learning g more of what he MAY have said as the stories were recounted.

The mocking laughter was somewhat mean, even though I know Francis did that in good humour. It’s a very legitimate question. It’s easy to say “I am everything”, but to feel that is different. I’m glad she got her answer in the end:)
This is only true if we consider the separate self to be real, otherwise who can feel mocked? The sage doesn't offend unless there is a someone to take the offence. They respond with wisdom, in a way that is appropriate to the questioner.

At first I thought you were describing Jesus's height instead of the timestamp. I was pretty confused for a minute. But yes, that was a big take away for me in terms of what Jesus may have meant.

My border is my body. As if I cut myself, I feel the pain and not another person (and the opposite). So the separation is in my body feeling.
God is consciousness but we are chips off the old block. We all have a different life and mind and story to tell. No two people see the same when observing something. One can add more or less detail and so forth. We are from source but still individual life experiences. No two people are exactly the same. The reason why we all have individual fingerprints. One supreme consciousness but many minds with free will.
That’s not what was said here. You say we are different - what is different? Different sensations, thoughts, perceptions - are these things self-aware? Of course not. Who is it that is aware of these? It is consciousness, or awareness that is aware. This consciousness is the same in all.

Dear friends, could someone recommend a practice to dissolve the feeling of separation, other than experimenting in everyday life? In my limited experience meditation and self-inquiry contribute to the sense of separation between the seer and the seen (myself as awareness and objects). After meditation, I as the awareness, still feel the distance between myself and objects of the Universe, hence no oneness was achieved with meditation and inquiry in my experience. Does Francis or other teachers give a suitable practice for achieving the first-hand oneness experience? Are there any practices offered in ancient texts for this purpose?
You are already whole, you cannot practice to be something you already are. Your limited experience is from the perspective of a person. You don't need to meditate or practice. You are That now.
@PowerOf One happiness and peace are synonymous. A still mind doesn't need to be chased, we just have to know that the mind will always appear to That. Let the mind do what it will and it will eventually get bored of itself.
1- Look into the eyes of a loved one. Sense the shared presence of both, this is the sense of oneness. Now practice this sense beyond ego/body with thy neighbor. 2- Established in consciousness see how you and thy neighbor (and all things) are appearing at the same level within consciousness.
My question is that if we're all one consciousness, why do we only experience our own perceptions and not the perceptions of others? That seems to be evidence of separation, since I cannot directly experience the experiences of others, and vice versa.
Well you are using 'I' to refer to an individual mind, which is limited, rather than consciousness/reality. Consciousness is that which perceives the mind/all minds. Just because minds are limited in their perceptions doesn't mean that the perceiver of the mind is. But you have to check your own experience. I'm just sharing mine.

@@egerton_dan9728 Hi, thank you for the reply and the video link. I'm not using 'I' as an individual mind, but as my consciousness, which has no experience of minds beyond my own. My problem is that I do not have direct experience of my consciousness being the same as others' consciousness (I'm not sure what that even means tbh) so it becomes only a belief system, which I'm not satisfied with. I am open to the possibility but I want to know it experientially rather than just believe or speculate. However I can never directly experience the experience of others, and so experiential "proof" seems unobtainable. Yet direct experience is the only way in which truth can be known. Whereas all I seem to have about it are mental/intellectual explanations of the possibility. Hence my struggle.

You could use the analogy of white light being refracted in a prism to produce different colours. Conciousness refracts itself into universe in order for it to experience itself. But it is all One.
To reach knowing thru the mind is impossible.
Watch , observe and come to knowing.
Once there, where we all are, whether we are aware or oblivious u will know . All the questions ( the mind) will be be clear.
But talking about consciousness is fun.

This is a huge misunderstanding in the new age movement. We are NOT all one consciousness! I am ME you are you my consciousness is separate from yours and will remain that way after death .
If you believe that, I wonder why on Earth you are watching videos like this.
@@JannikBoRasmussen I have been thinking lately that absorbing the idea of one consciousness dissolves the idea that then there could be an individual “afterlife” and then the idea of Angels/named spirit guides, could not be. Maybe that is why one would reject the idea, but yes, why seek at Advaita Vedanta?
Ramana Maharishi often spoke of the “Self in all selves”, the underlying “substratum of all”. I trust him. He was most certainly realized, as far as I can tell, intellectually and intuitively.
