Hello Roxy, I really loved the way you created your cluster page. Putting them all on one pages and doing them all together was a smart move. Thanks for that great idea. Adrienne
That is a great idea creating cluster on a sheet of paper like that. Gives me new ideas, thanks. Because of my schedule, I watched it in three stages, but that is alright. It is good video.
Of course, it's you !!! I haven't crafted in so long I've forgotten how to do everything, so I wanted to do some fabric/paper clusters, but needed some inspiration, and while I was gathering materials, I was looking at the thumbnails only, saw this one, and immediately clicked -- and then both was and wasn't surprised it was you. It's hard remembering the pandemic. You literally saved my life at that time by posting videos daily. And not just me. And I laughed at the noisy kids and water over the balcony. Today, we are both moved. I hope you love your new place as much as we love ours. Our "new" house was built in 1931, and is on the historic register. It's just a little cottage style, but I love everything about it. The door knobs are original, and sunlight pours in from all of the large windows in every room. Our neighbors are wonderful, and there's a perfect spot for my garden, which did well last year until the horrible heat came and killed everybody's gardens. The tomatoes literally boiled on the vine. That's enough of me. You are soon headed for Australia, but LuLu is now grown up, and I bet she's a looker, and boys are gonna be swarming around her like bees on a daisy. You need to get you one of those nerf guns -- that shoot the sponge pellets -- with a sign attached: back off, mate -- ha. So now I have to go and actually watch the rest of the video. That's such a good idea to do it all in layers. I got the backing fabric -- just beige ticking -- all cut up in size, now I'm going to enjoy the rest of your video and layer as you are doing. Take care -- Patricia.
I love these clusters, great addition for a journal. Also thanks for the tip on doing a knot when hand stitching that was super and will definitely be trying that when I next sew.
Amazing to watch you go from scraggly little bits of paper to beautiful embellishments!!! (Of course you do have an amazing collection of different colors of book pages!!) Absolutely lovely! The sewing may not be necessary, but it does add another dimension. I might finally be feeling like it’s time to go unearth mine! Thank you always for such a gentle & happy video!
It never ceases to amaze me how glueing a bunch of pieces of torn paper on top of each other can look so cool. You made such a unique collection of clusters even though you used pretty much the same papers on all of them. That is where your creativity and flair for color and shape come in.
I woke up this morning and this awesome video was playing…and it was just before you added color to it. It looked like a yummy cappuccino with all the creamy brown colors swirled together. Mmmmmm! Now I’m going to make coffee! Thanks for the wonderful wake up…and the brilliant crafting!
What an excellent idea. I am certainly going to try that. Thank you for sharing. Because I was a sewer long before I was a paper artist, may I give you a couple of hints. For doing the sewing around the cluster, drop your feed dogs and just use your hands to move the paper around. It saves you turning and stopping a lot. It takes some practice, but works great. Another thing, I would use the machine to sew on the buttons. A lot faster and easier. Good luck. Again, thank you.
I love these Rachel! These are so fun. If you are going to make more snippet rolls can you please film that? I so much enjoy watching these little projects
I agree with you that this is a genius way to do clusters! I would find this much easier than one at a time holding them in your hands. I’ll have to try this soon! Thanks for sharing, Rach! Love and hugs to you! 🤗❤️
I have not heard of doing clusters or seeing it done but you do it well. I am going to give this a try. Thank you so much for the great idea of using up scraps that accumulate so fast. I am so glad I found you.
Love this video! Production line creativeness has given me ideas about things I want to do, and saves money using what I have. The tags are beautiful, love the layers and textures. Thanks Rachel.
You are so incredibly kind and understanding, when you said maybe someone couldn’t carry on with your order. You give me something new to work on faster than I can even comprehend! My mind was buzzing so much last night I woke up at 4:45 and was wide awake.
I love this way of making clusters - I'm still new to all of this and haven't attempted clusters yet but this is how I'll try it for sure! Also love your videos and all of your wonderful creations. I was an exchange student in high school and I was in Australia for about 6 months. The Australian accent is one of my favorites and makes me think of how much fun I had when I was there.
I had no idea what you were doing, but I stuck around because, I love listening to you. LoL you are very entertaining and the end result of your craft was beautiful. Love your accent :) your stories and how you keep us updated. Thank you!!! Keep safe!
Thank you for keeping me company while it was late and the house quiet, while i was tatting. I would have never thought to make these like that on one piece of paper what a great idea, I will definitely be trying this. Thank you for all the inspiration, these turned out beautiful.
This is so good. I made up a sheet whilst watching this video. Am yet to stitch around it as had to go and get dinner ready. I am so excited to see how they turn out tomorrow. Thanks again for a lovely video.
Luv your work, when I do my buttons I sew them on to a little piece of fabric and then I glue them on. Much easier then trying to sew through the thickness of the paper.
The clusters are so adorable, and so simple, if you are talented and have scraps and the list goes on.....but really these look so easy to make I am thinking maybe to try it with paper only as I don't sew or have materials scraps....! improvisation, I do have glue and lots of bits of paper! Another beautiful project, thank you Rachel!
I really like this way of doing them too Rachel. I do the fabric clusters one at a time with a cardstock base but I have trouble with the mostly paper ones as well. This looks like it would be much easier. I also love the stitching instead of the staple. I always had to find something to cover the staple because it looked so modern. Thanks for sharing and long vids never bother me, so no worries from this end on that count! Lol hugs!
Just watched this a year later. I don’t do mixed media and journals anymore but did make one from a magazine once. I am basically finer arts now but do a lot of cards, a little mini quilt sewn onto a card blank. These clusters are a great idea for a card. I hope I still have some papers left over. Thanks for sharing Rachel.
Oh Rachel… I absolutely loved this video!!! The way you made your clusters is so brilliant! I really love them… I am so inspired I have to try them! Thank you so much for sharing this method with us. Stay well and safe, big hugs 🤗 Laurette
So glad the number of new cases are going down! I saw an article about a 101 yr old man from Rimini that beat it. That should give everyone some hope. The county in my state that we are moving from just put out a stay at home order, so our cases in the states haven't peaked yet. Back to the vid because it's my daily dose of normal! Hugs
Oh my goodness... I love the clusters. I was skeptical of doing them on a sheet of paper when you started, but how you finished them... OH, BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you for all your videos.
Very excited to hear about how the virus is working because we are in the same situation with there are less sick peoples and they now discuss how we can open the country best and with out the start all over but we stay in till after Easter 16. Wow this is brilliant! I love doing clusters like this. I am anxious to make some. I am so happy about Italy. Things here are rising, my husbands brother in law has the virus in New York so we are all praying he pulls through. Enough of that. Thanks for sharing such a fun video 😍🌴staysafe

This is a marvelous process for making multiple clusters. I love them.
Thank you so much!
Most entertaining! Thanks for sharing your talents!
Thank you very much!
In my opinion a video is never too long if it’s done right. You do it right so don’t fret over it !!

Sometimes doing that reminds me of things I have that I've kind of forgotten about:)

I’ve viewed a number of “creating cluster” tutorials and this is by far the BEST collection of finished items! Thank you for sharing this with us!
