We should defend the rights of students to engage in abhorrent anti-Semitic speech, so long as it doesn't cross the line into outright harassment, abuse (which has happened) or threats of violence. We should also condemn their speech with our own speech rather than leverage police power the way other authoritarian regimes tend to. This nation is due for some major soul-searching and reckoning with the unchecked festering and spread of virulent antisemitism on college campuses. How lucky they are to criticize a country that has been in a near-constant state of war since its creation and not have the faintest clue what living in a war zone is like, much less the historical processes that brought us to this moment.
