Miku has that perfect bubbly extroverted anime voice and personality. Saiki is shy ,rather introverted. and somewhat mysterious . Kanami is sweet,unassuming,and humble. Akane is organized and a natural with administrative duties Misa uses few words and is also somewhat mysterious but not shy. They compliment one another with the balance of their personalities and it lends itself well to their music!!!
Misa always strikes me that she secretly has Cyclops-type laser eyes and she's just waiting for the right moment to get fed up with an interviewers nonsense and just destroy everything...
Saiki has the most wonderful death stare, Misa can sit totally in neutral, Akane is thinking menus and Kanami is composing but attentive. Miku is the super cute hard man of the group.

Saiki tends to do a lot more promotion work with Miku these days. Even MISA is taking a more active roll when in front of the camera. I think the world bass day event helped her realise just how popular she and her band mates are and more because of their music than anything else.
From the frontal sitting looks, i can tell Misa is the tallest, then Saiki, then Kanami and Akane about the same, and Miku surprisingly is the least tall.
Watching this with the auto-translate captions is hilarious. First it says Akane is a dragon, then something about waist masturbation, then Miku says she wanted to start a band called Meat Bread, LMAO! Will they ever get auto-translate to work right??

Weird, all you text is in English. Seems like you are targeting an English speaking audience. It is nice and respectful you are interviewing them in Japanese but some English context would have been nice.
We target both Japanese and English speaking fan-bases in all our interviews. There is a link to a translated transcription of the interview in the video's description (as in the case with all our interviews) In some cases we provide edited videos of the interview as an added bonus, but we do conduct all of them (with come rare exceptions) solely in Japanese.
I agree. Unfortunately we conduct about 30-40 interviews a year on top of other content and the videos aren't always approved (and when they are it's usually really late in the process) so subbing a video that might never see the light of day, or trying to do so quickly afterwards is rarely an option with the resources we have.
The process has likely changed since I last uploaded anything, but I had the impression that it was possible to allow other users to contribute captions as well as the uploader. Either way, I understand, and thank you for this interview.
I'm pretty sure that was a fly that caused the distraction. The interview rooms were quite hot and we had a lot of windows open and you can actually spot fly distractions a couple times in all the J-POP Summit interviews. Thanks for watching!
+Pek -J her use of "po" at the end of most of her statements is meant to refer to the sound a pigeon makes and is done as a sort of cute quirk. Similar to adding "nyan" (The Japanese equivalent of "meow") at the end of everything.
That is our chief translator and one of our key members, TIffany. The room we did this interview in was quite small so the forward shot had to be shot this way. We do have a side shot that is unobstructed but we didn't want to present the whole interview with a side shot.
Kanami is the only one who's willing to help what Miku is trying to do, selling the band with the kawaii image. But it looks the rest of the members don't give a damn. I guess the way Miku talks sounds a little too childish and contrived. I'm a native Japanese speaker.
If you knew anything about the band, you'd know the reason that Saiki, specifically, doesn't speak much due to social anxiety. She isn't "Japanese shy" or trying to uphold "the Japanese image/stereotype" it's an actual anxiety issue...like the rest of the band can get a word in anyway 😂
