I had the privilege of ringing on these majestic bells in 1989 when they were an all male preserve. I stood on a box for the first time to ring the No.5 bell to Rounds on the Twelve and did not disgrace myself or South Africa, my first backstroke was right up to the balance and I set the bell first time round. My thanks to Alan Regin for making it possible.

A very unusual view a very novel,
I am so glad that even with a complete refit the bells have remained unchanged as far as tuning is concerned.
Whilst I love modern Simpson tuned bells such as York minster, to me at least At Paul's is the unique sound of London.
To change that sound would be unthinkable.

Was the camera attached to the spider for hanging the ropes?
