South Dakota Shortline D&I SD40-2s and Rip-Rap Train Waits for Detour on BNSF

Errand running in town turned into a rare and unexpected shortline foaming incident today.
Flooding in SE South Dakota in June 2024 resulted in a bridge on the BNSF at North Sioux City IA being washed out. This was D&I's link over former MILW track to Sioux City IA. D&I now temporarily detours over BNSF Corson and Marshall Subdivisions to access Sioux City.
