This entire album is about our dad. Viewed through many different lenses. Whether that be direct grief or the consequences something like losing a parent has on your relationships. Glad you enjoyed it my man ❤ - Jcan

Thank you! At times I was wondering how it was all connected but wasn't confident with my assumptions! It all makes sense now!

Great review! I've been a fan since 2012 and love tssf. I'm a massive Proper Dose fan (holds a lot of personal meaning and nostalgia for me) but I definitely am loving the new record so far. The singles all BLEW me away and are so far, my fav songs. That said I'm falling in love with White Shores and I Want to Disappear...definitely know this album will grow on me. Amazing job tssf. These guys can't seem to write bad songs!!

I still haven't heard all of American motor sports yet so I decided to watch this one first. I'm glad this album is getting you back into this band. I have a hard time even calling this band pop punk honestly cuz there's so much more to their music than that. One thing I disagree with alot of fans of this band on is the self titled third album. That album to me represented the emotions that had been boiling up for the first two albums just exploding on the 3rd album. That album has the most impressive and creative drumming too. I like it alot more than some fans do. Great review!

@@AmongTheFence I'm ready man! I hope you get to check out my reaction to the new aurorawave song, it's my most recent video. It is a banger! I've made 4 reactions of their songs so far and I've gotten a shout-out from the band themselves on 3 of em. It'd be sick if you reviewed their album when it gets here August 2nd! Fronz is gonna be on it lol I'll be on the lookout for your review. I haven't heard the whole Bilmuri album yet, im still waiting to get the chance to hear the songs I haven't heard yet before getting to your video on that.

I've loved all of their albums, possibly Proper Dose the most interestingly enough. I've only listened to this one a few times so far and loved it but was a bit underwhelmed -- but pop punk usually takes more time to grow on me than other genres so i'm sure it will do that. Gonna keep listening lol

The more I listened to it, the better it got. Especially the more I got into the song meanings

I wasnt stoked on the singles when they came out but now that I’ve listened to the whole thing l love the album. I dont know if its just me but it feels like somethings missing on this. Kinda like slipknots .5 the gray chapter which i liked but was their first album without paul and joey. I dont know its cuz kelens no longer in the band or what. I give it a B. Not my favorite album but definitely memorable and solid

It didn't feel like something was missing to me, but it definitly felt different. It felt more... serious I think

I was going open minded into this album, as I didn't really liked their last record. Even though it wasn't as flowery and soft as Proper Dose that I remember, I still didn't like it that much. However after that I went back and listened to their earlier material, that I thought I enjoyed, and felt mostly nothing. It's not the same river and not the same man. Guess my preferences in pop punk just drifted with time.

That's interesting cuz this kinda brought me back to the days when I listened to nothing but pop punk. Theor old stuff feels dated to me and their last record makes me sadder than I care to be. This seemed to hit all the right spots.

Disagree completely on their records being repetitive (at least sonically). What You Don't See is very different from Under Soil and Dirt, plays with way more sounds, way more intricate musicianship and a lot more hardcore influence.
As for this newest effort it's good but it does sound like a neutered version of What You Don't See but with the worst parts of Proper Dose thrown in. Really wish they would stop with the over production especially when it comes to the weird vocal filter, really strips away a lot of the angst and emotion from Parker's voice.
