My wife is the director. High gets zero funding for its productions. They are self sufficient through ticket sales (about 80%), ad sales in the program, concessions, and fund raising. An army of parent volunteers help make costumes and sets.
It's hard to believe that this is a high school production! In my opinion, the male lead in Brotherhood of man is as good as Broadway's version in Tony's! And he's made to play this part. Thank you for uploading this :)
This show was fantastic. The sets were fucking fantastic and Bud Frump was broadway quality. The one liners were fantastically delivered and it was just an absolute delight. good job
Have to say that I LOVE the actress who plays Hedy LaRue’s interpretation of the character - I find, even in many Broadway productions, that she’s played too seriously for my liking. She really plays the silliness of the character very very very well!!!
This is such a great production! My school is doing How To Succeed as well next spring and I used this musical as my interpretation of Rosemary for my audition and I actually got Rosemary! This school puts on such great productions!
wonderful job! cannot believe this is a high school performance! great acting, singing, dancing, costumes...the whole show is first rate! congratulations!
Extraordinary production. I saw this musical on Broadway with Daniel R. twice and this cast has nothing to envy the NY cast. Congratulations to everyone involved, you nailed it.
I played a part in this show with some of my weirdest, craziest, best friends at Valdosta High School PAC. We ended our senior year with 5 performances and it was awesome!!! All the seniors cried at the final performance during “Brotherhood Of Man” #IMissIt #TheGoodDays 😩😭🙌🏾❤️
One should not be surprised that teenagers are capable of such productions. Dont forget that they had highly talented and dedicated teachers, coaches and directors.
THIS SCHOOL IS SO GOOD! this show is done better than the broadway in my opinion. the brotherhood of man scene is amazing and the actors and actresses are hilarious
Watching this brings back memories of my H.S. production. I was blown away at the overall talent of this production. While the "borrowed" choreography from Broadway didn't bother me at all, because it was executed with flawed detail and looked like everyone was really enjoying the showstopper "Brotherhood of Man". I would give a HUGE A++ grade to the -- costumer, it shows the level of details in all the clothing and the many copies of Paris Originals and Pirate dresses means someone worked hard -- set design was amazing and even more amazing is the budget to put faucets on all the sinks (not just Finch) -- choreographer did an amazing job putting together the numbers, especially the "Groundhog" football sequence; borrowing choreography is OK if works -- it did! -- stage manager/director keeping the scenes moving with clever use of set movement -- director for clever use of staging using all the space and keeping true to the script but removing the "G*d Dammit* by Hedy was very appropriate. (note: I do think the smile to the audience by Finch was rushed and wasn't fully captured, but that's a little critique). managing a cast this size, a show that runs longer than most musicals and so many sets that all are HUGE and lots of props is a directors nightmare, but this revealed to me this wasn't your first rodeo and the talent necessary to pull this off reveals some good directing capability and good sense of knowing what works. Awesome directing! -- lighting design was amazing although there were some spots that could have been tweaked a bit more, but overall was "spot on". (pun intended) -- sound design -- typical for a high school production, and "good enough". This is one area that is very hard to master and even pro's never get it right. I still give it an A. -- cover art/poster design -- very original and really captures the title in a unique way. Kudos to the artists. -- orchestra. I've been part of shows that have an amazing orchestra by professionals that play their instruments for a living and the pit gets paid every night. That said, this pit did the best they could in the short time of practice and limited years on their instruments. It's a tough score and lots of music. It gets a B overall, but an A for pushing through it and owning it. -- vocal director did a good job training the voices -- you can tell this part was not just swept over and attention to harmony and diction was important. Also, working through the limitations of some cast and helping them deal with their song and keeping it strong. I really liked some of the minor nuances that I found unique and fun. "Chipmunk" -- videographer -- yes, you were amazing!!! Having multiple cams and mixing it, the angles and the knowledge of the show was obvious. This was not just "set it and forget it" this was art filming art. The video will be one the cast, and the rest of us can cherish forever on RUclips. -- producer -- you have the most awful job -- I know, been there done that. But without seeing the show in person, I know you(s) had a great job keeping these schedules, and organizing all aspects of the show so that it would get pulled off without any sacrifice to the art. It's clear the staff was able to focus on their craft because they didn't have to worry. That hidden support isn't known to everyone, but I can tell it was there. Kudos for all the behind the scenes boring stuff that no one sees, understands or gives you credit for. The Ensemble! WOW!!!! ... seriously, wow!!! I forgot many times this was High School. WOW! There was not a moment of any weakness, the cast size was immense, but kudos to the director, it never seemed like a mob on stage. The ensemble was so strong all the way through. No one looked lost, out of place, or takes you out of the moment. All faces looked interested, engaged in the scene and the smiles were consistent which gave each musical number so much energy, I can only imagine how it was to see this in the actual theater. The Supporting Cast ... even more, WOW! Perfect casting all the way through for every role. No one should feel slighted because they had the most or the least lines. Each character was perfect for the role that took on and took it to a level of their own, owning it and making it fun. Even the guys in the boardroom, the attention to detail in their actions and reactions was so believable that no one should dismiss their role as "minor". There are no small acting parts, only small actors. your part is still vital to the show. Just because your role is small, does not make it unimportant. If you fully commit to your character and know exactly why he/she is there in that scene at that time, you’ll be able to make each moment count. It showed! The Leads -- Broadway is ready to take you all on. OK, not a good idea to pursue that career, seriously, but Community Theater is going to love you all and your college will enjoy your talent. I'm blown away at the level of work that is obvious dedicated to the role and learning the lines, the music, choreography, costume changes, entrances, etc. The talent displayed reveals a very strong opportunity for future shows or pursuing a career in entertainment. If the Disney Cruise opens again, there are some great starting positions. Not everyone moves up the corporate ladder that fast. You all took the direction of the production staff and did a great job. I don't want to single out a single person to avoid downplaying anyone else, but I can see each lead having a great success in singing, dancing and acting. I have seen other schools perform this show, and remember the one that I did in H.S and this succeeds in production quality without even trying.
Came across this video after watching How To Succeed... on TCM last week. WOW! This production was fantastic! Brotherhood of Man had me clapping and cheering for the performance while sitting at home watching on my computer. My dogs gave me a weird look! lol!
Such a talented group of youth at this school! This is definitely the latest in a line of personal favorites you have posted. So well done by all. I also loved Moon Over Buffalo and Mary Poppins. Just Wonderful! Such Magic you create!
If you're heading to NYC anytime soon, chances are you can see him in Beetlejuice-The Musical. He's one of the swings but he's covering (for vacations/illnesses) about nine different roles so he gets to go on often (9/6/2022)
My favorite artist Takahisa Masuda plays same musical. I've never viewed the musical before. But, watching this musical makes me impressed. I want to see the musical more than before. I would like to thank everyone involved with the work. I'm sorry about my poor English.
So happy the you tube algorithm found this for me today! I loved it. Everyone was awesome snd gave me so much joy! The sets and costumes were amazing. Your director must be fabulous! Thank you ! Im so happy after watching this! ❤❤❤
The only complaint I have is the pit is very quiet. It seems that either they don't have stage mics pointed to them or they don't have any. Hearing the foot movement on stage while a song is in session takes the illusion away from the musical. Besides that, amazing production.
Wow! What a talented bunch! The acting, singing, and choreography are all top-notch. (And coming from a high school, this production is nothing less than amazing)! Thank you for uploading it. 👍
Jeez, this HS must have a billion bucks invested in their drama department. The fact they actually had elevators on set is amazing. Some of the cast couldn't hit their top notes, but the ensemble all around is superb. "Rosemary" was awesome with them on the leather couch. The orchestra -- holy smokes --! I was Bud Frump in HS. Cinderella Darling, on of my favorite numbers, was seamless and perfect, and Hedy was specifically superb. Brotherhood of Man blew me away.
they actually get no funding from the board, so everything is funded by ticket sales and sets are built by parent volunteers! plus, since the high quality of the shows, it's a popular public school for those wanting to pursue a career in theatre, so they get a lot of help through that too
Thanks to this video, I’ve come to love this musical, it’s even one of my favorites now 💖 thank you so much. I can’t even tell how many times I’ve seen it now haha
Excellent performances from all cast, crew and musicians, enhanced by top notch video production recording make this broadway quality for me. Special mention to the Hedy La Rue and Finch for strong stage presence for these difficult role and great performance by all other cast.
Loving RUclips's new format it's kinda like the app but in browser also funny it's the full thing for free love it even tho the voice said no phones or recording unless this is from production team nice often been curious about this 1 and yoUrintown hair spray again etc
well, It seems the rest of the country has started to find out about arts education in New Jersey! i just saw an almost complete how to succeed form Columbia high school in maplewood NJ. even better voices! Nearby west orange does AMAZING work - other towns like Fair Lawn and Union also do amazing work!
Auditions at this school must be an absolute nightmare 😭 so much unbelievable talent it’s insane
Imagine actually having funding like this for your theatre department 😍
Damn, do I feel that, man.
my school does
My wife is the director. High gets zero funding for its productions. They are self sufficient through ticket sales (about 80%), ad sales in the program, concessions, and fund raising. An army of parent volunteers help make costumes and sets.
My school actually gets some major funding check out the you tube Chanel the king’s academy
lillian carver You’re school has AMAZING shows!
The males in this show are FANTASTIC, these kids should ALL pursue careers in the arts! Also huge props to the female leads!!
Please, please keep posting this schools shows. These are the best shows I've ever seen of a high school on RUclips
ruclips.net/video/20YHYFOZ7G0/видео.html
I know right
I would KILL to perform in a theatre like this, let alone the fact that it's at a high school. Major props to everyone who put it together!
It's hard to believe that this is a high school production! In my opinion, the male lead in Brotherhood of man is as good as Broadway's version in Tony's! And he's made to play this part. Thank you for uploading this :)
The lead man in Brotherhood of man is J.Peirpont Finch who is played by the fabulously talented Sean Mcnanus!
i think the brotherhood of man in this show is better than the broadways!
I WAS SCREAMING SO HARD WHEN THEY SANG BROTHERHOOD OMG THIS CAST IS INSANE WOWOWOWOWWOW
Me: pointing out actors I know from other shows I've seen from this show
Same.
This show was fantastic. The sets were fucking fantastic and Bud Frump was broadway quality. The one liners were fantastically delivered and it was just an absolute delight. good job
seriously? what about the band???
the person playing bud was on broadway
I was first cellist in the pit!
I just love this Bud Frump, he is played so hilariously!
Charles Nelson Reilly played Bud Frump on the Broadway cast.
Best line in the whole show:
"Yes Blood is thicker than water...but BUD FRUMP IS THICKER THAN ANYTHING!!!" thicc boi
Maddie McNeal cool!
Wish me luck my auditions are in a week
G. T. How did they go?
They got all the right people for all the right parts. One thing Hollywood often fails miserably at these days!
Absolutely fantastic. Just...wow.
This was AMAZING...I felt like I was watching the real Broadway play!! Well done to the entire cast; everyone was fabulous!
We love Erin playing two different girls who like pink and are blonde
Roxy The Geek Whenever I saw her I was like "Same costume more or lees..."
Love Erin and Mitchell in legally blonde so decided to watch this and it's amazing 💕💖
wonderful job! cannot believe this is a high school performance! great acting, singing, dancing, costumes...the whole show is first rate! congratulations!
I can just imagine the scenes that unfold in the McManus household lmao, you're both such amazing actors
Extraordinary production. I saw this musical on Broadway with Daniel R. twice and this cast has nothing to envy the NY cast. Congratulations to everyone involved, you nailed it.

The obvious respect/love that the members of the orchestra have for their MD is awesome.

Wow. Now review Pippin watch?v=NGIGcitrZkY :-)
I wish we had an auditorium like that. We don't have an area for the pit so we're in the space between the stage and first row and it sucks.
Jacob Labovitz I know I’m super late to this, but I go here! That isn’t a real pit area- we build it every time lol, same setup as you guys
@@BardsOnAHill so smart!
Very impressive! One of the best shows I've caught on RUclips, I wish my high school had the drama department you have. Just fantastic!
Whoever is playing Smitty is absolutely killing it
These high school productions are crazy good!
Absolutely amazing! These kids are beyond talented. The acting, singing and dancing are of a professional quality.
The fact that they got this many boys to do a musical is amazing and they were all insanely good. Bravo!
Came across this video after watching How To Succeed... on TCM last week. WOW! This production was fantastic! Brotherhood of Man had me clapping and cheering for the performance while sitting at home watching on my computer. My dogs gave me a weird look! lol!

THEIR BROTHERHOOD OF MAN ABSOLUTELY SLAPS 15/10
The voice of the bookreader was done by the former summit middle school principal :)
I keep rewatching brotherhood of man that shit was fantastic esp for a HS I'm shook
Wow! The guy playing Finch does a great job!!!!

@@bethbatt2081 that’s awesome!!! I’m glad he’s getting a career! 😀
GAWD, was that GOOD! I had to remind myself several times that these were high school kids, because they performed like true professionals
Smitty, as always, is an icon

OMG THEY USED SOME OF THE CHOREO FROM BROADWAY AND MY SCHOOL IS DOING THIS SHOW THIS YEAR AND I REALLY HOPE WE CAN DO THIS
I played this musical my junior year of HS. I played the trumpet and it was amazing. This reminds me of my time playing.
Absolutely can NOT believe this is high school - fabulous production!
Wow...this should be Broadway bound...such talent and energy..I was blown away!
Thank God I didn't go to this high school, I would never have gotten a role!!!
look at this TEENAGE LEADING MAN, amazing job!!
A truly phenomenal performance. The orchestra were amazing and the actors were excellent. I especially liked Smitty.
Playing trombone in pit and using this to learn the show blind! Thanks for the help!
The staging is genius. Amazing set
Just saying hi to everyone watching this tonight because it was revealed to be our musical this year. Ben says hi!
Mexican Shrek [blue wrench] me too!
Hey go back to Mexico you immigrant
Andrew Nichols I hope this is a joke
Lmao all these clowns getting mad at Andrew
This is amazing. If I didn't know better, I would think this was a Broadway production. I love it. Keep posting your shows.
Another show in a spectacular arrangement of shows, so professionally performed and produced.

i go here, we have no funding for the department!
im playing Ovington in may im very excited this is my first year of drama
I'm doing this same play in middle school!
that was amazing. \Broadway quality. wtg!!
I absolutely love this school's performance my school is doing it this year I have auditions this week and I'm going for Smitty !!
My school was going to do this musical in 2020 and we were less than a month away from opening night and then COVID shut it down 😭
Rats! Sorry, hope you get another chance at it.
same! and then i did it in 2022! crazy!
Kudos to the stage manager
Outstanding! Bravo!
Amazing. The movement of the cartridge pleating on the skirts is the MVP
Still stunning after 5 years.
Wonderful high school production!!!
Excellent.

They did the full choreography of Brotherhood of Men the way it was done on Broadway! Impressive!
Well done it should be called how to succeed in show business broadway beckons congratulations one an all bravo
This is our show this year and i'm dying to be hedy
Omg this was absolutely phenomenal! These students are completely amazing!!
Wow, wow WOW!!!!
Wow. Incredible talent. Well done and the leads were amazing.

the set has so much work put into it. i’m really impressed
Hallelujah was so beautiful! 😍
The guy who plays Twimble has the funniest facial expressions! Also there wasn't a single bad performance
so great !!!
well done!
Oddly but fittingly ironic in a musical addressing nepotism to have two brothers playing alongside each other;
Man the guy who played Mr.Banks just keeps on getting leads
Aidan Kurth omg r same with bart lol they are brother s
holy shit that was beautiful!
Is that the same kid who played Bert?
Aidan Kurth yes he is
OMGGGG ITS SEANN GUYS ITS SEANNNN
Nice!

My high school is doing both H2S and Mary Poppins this year!!
Holy shit balls!Anyone have an update on the lead?Is he doing theater professionally?
Yes, he is majoring in Musical Theatre at Boston Conservatory
and now on Broadway.
