Also a little note: the scrapped post ending Colony 9 has an uncanny resemblance to the Colony 9 seen in Future Redeemed. Like how the army complex and residence area is missing in both and this steel platform just ends in the ocean on the sides where these districts would have been, the one anti air battery (original Colony 9 had three), all the way to how the geography lines up. You come from an entrance on the cliff side roughly where Tephra Cave would have been, it goes down from there and ends in a seemingly endless ocean (in FR the ocean does end due to annihilation events having torn down what was left of the ocean after Origin kicked into effect)
There's unused voice lines, at least in English, for the Chapter 1 expedition to Tephra Cave. Particularly, it's some unused banter between Shulk, Fiora, and Reyn. My favorite cut exchange goes like this. Shulk: "Looks like you're my guardian angel, Fiora." Fiora: "Not 'looks like'. I am."
Can confirm that the "cover me" dialogue was translated correctly, I think it might be an unused option for a party tactics command that never made it in since the party leader shouts out commands when choosing those
It is potentially possible that PC2 was indeed an early form or Reyn based on interviews in which it was stated that Reyn originally was going to be a character who betrays the main party and becomes a villain later in the game, which makes a lot more sense with the PC2 design, which looks far more sinister than the final Reyn
5:48 Mumkhar says the “All that work for nothing” line in time attack in DE but he says it outside of his mechon. Interesting there is a metal face version of that line
They actually "confirmed" that the bionis shoulder was never supposed to be in the final product and was just a testmap. However, I genuinely do not buy it because there is so much wrong with that idea, including there being unused data in 3D for a chapter save that corresponds to its placement in the world and files(Which most likely comes from the source code because the port has no extra content). The idea going around in the community that they simply dropped it when they realized that it was unfeasable to finish and didn't have enough storycontent to keep makes a lot more sense in context. 4:32 And it is incorrectly set as a junk sword instead of a monado, so it gives Shulk the most based Talent Art. 5:14 This is actually true for all three guests, even tho none of them can die. They most likely planned for something similar to Xenoblade 2 earlier in development where guests are legitimate party members, but they went with a wildly diffrent approach in the end(Though notably, these games are inverted in their menu-accessibility. Xenoblade 2 does not allow you to open a guest's menu, while Xenoblade 1 does not care)
We found even more unused dialog like 2 months ago lol. There's 2 subpages worth of audio if you want to make a video on that. We added notes as to where these are placed and where they might have been used.
Given the shape of the shoulder as well as its location I think it's quite obvious it was meant to be the transitional area between Makna Forest, Eryth Sea and Valak Mountain, especially given how strange the transtition between these areas is in the final story.
Mhh....nice video, covers more then the original Xenoblade cut content video, being episode 116 of Chuggaaconroy's LP. Good to see an updated version. Although you didn't mention that Mayneth's Monado and Gadolt's canon ARE in DE as weapon skins(will appear when they would've appeared in the story.)
I never really bought the whole Bionis Arm having Colony 6 on it. I mean, Sword Valley is connected to Bionis by it's waist. And considering Dunban doesn't even know about High Entia or the Nopon Village before the events of the game, I would just think that the direct way to Sword Valley was blocked a long time ago somewhere at the Bionis Waist.
I was always curious about xenoblade cut content so thank you for the good video. I’m also very interested in xc2 cut content knowing its developing problems, it could be another cool video.
@@totalradladI think the most interesting thing in Xenoblade 2 is that they programmed in 10 slots for playable characters to be in the group at once, even tho only 5 are in the party at the same time. And not only that, but(not counting duplicates) there are only even 8 partymembers in the game total.
Didnt know about the Bionis Shoulder original map being in Definitive Edition. That's actually cool and makes me wonder how it would've fit into the game. Like because of where it would've been. It definitely would've been between Makna Forest and Ertyh (might've spelled it wrong) Sea

So the colony 9 in FR is the cut post game colony 9 of 1?
@@silentlore2458 pretty much
I love it when companies do that, Kinda like a treat for hardcore fans

It's pretty cool thinking how a scrapped character could have been the inspiration for Zeon 12 years later.

I was under the impression that the icons for Tyrea where a side effect of how the game handled guest carters like Juju and Otharon.

Bro Sword Valley is right above Colony 6, the transport ships could've taken them there in no time, if anything the Shoulder is much further away
I do suppose this is true! I've never thought of such, surprisingly. Thank you for the insight! -Roge
2:10 that island looks like the small island with the pipes on it thats in the final game's machina village where 1 or 2 npcs sit

The Tyrea party icons HURT. I did not know about that, I thought she was never planned to be a party member 💔
I was actually not expecting to learn this much, thank you for making this video !

Mmmm Xenoblade cut content, my favorite!

yeah and we know the homs do have limited air transport so a flight from colony 6 to he sword is likly possible as its not too far away vertically

If you're looking for that, then simply look up "Xenoblade Chronicles 2:Bonus video" by Chuggaaconroy. You can't miss it.
As far as I've seen, XC2 doesn't have as much interesting content hidden in the files of the game, but it would probably be worth looking at.

Yeah probably there. It is weird they have a warp to get there in Frontier Village
Iirc, it was stated in interviews that the area was only ever made as a testing map, and never meant to be accessed in game.
Great video - thanks for the work!
I still wish we got the shoulder as it was still attached to the bionis
I love the DE's visuals, but FC's Bionis Shoulder looks so much less vibrant than the scrapped Wii version.
Also Colony 6 is below sword valley
That was insightful. Thanks!
There I am gary
Oh boy. That microphone. I recommend getting a better one.
