I love how he always runs out of breath and cant sustain notes like on the album. He is too nasaly. I miss his Waking the Fallen vocals. I'm not big on screaming, but the screaming used on WtF was good alongside the clean vocals. All clean vocals can be difficult to pull off for a metal band.

Truly the greatest song ever made
Love it! Although I believe that date is wrong. The first time they played this was in Oct of 2005. It was their first show from the COE tour in Long Beach. Fortunately I was there and they played it on MTV but only a few tracks not the whole show. For years I’ve been trying to find the whole show but no luck. They opened with second heartbeat 😊
I can vouch for this guy! The army moved my dad out there I was 14 to San Diego and I begged him to take me. I had just started playing guitar and was obsessed with Synyster gates at the time and his guitar design. My dad being an old school classic rock fan took me to see them after I had him listen to the album while we unpacked the house.
It was such a cool experience for us it was just the 2 of us and I was trying to get him hip to modern rock/metal music so he bought us tickets for it and we listened to this on the way there it was a super cool experience as we had never really done anything together at that point in my life with him being in the army and always being gone.
Anyhow, went to the show, had a great time. He bought us each a beer at the gas station on the way home. I didn't finish and got called a pussy but oh well it was such a cool experience 🤘🤘
@@justinbowen1183 oh yeah it was San Diego my bad. My parents dropped my bro and I off while they went to a casino lol. Long Beach is where they filmed the Live DVD.
I hate to be the "ackshooally" type of guy, but the first time they played this was before City of Evil blew up in the summer of 05. I actually remember watching this video when it first dropped online, but there's other things that date this video. Their stage production here is comparable to what it was when they were still touring for Waking the Fallen and Zacky's hair is the same as it was around April-ish 2005.

I hate Matt's vocals so much. The lead guitar work and drums (Jimmy's tracks) were the only good things about the band after Waking the Fallen. Brian's leads on City of Evil are monumental.
Man that’s an uncommon opinion. Most people think his vocals live after City of Evil up to Nightmare were the best. For some reason he both sang weirdly and mixed his vocals terribly on CoE but they were great live imo.
@@ExternusArmyI'm not a fan of his vocals on city of evil and they have so many layered that even with zacky and brian doing backup it's not enough and he even has to cut lyrics to get to the next ones
@@133thefallen me neither. On the album, they were very nasally and whiny, and mixed to sound even thinner. I think in actuality, his voice was actually the strongest it ever was during this time but the choices they made while recording and mixing the album were bad. If you watch the behind the scenes where he is singing in the booth, he actually has a lot of control, singing with vibrato in ways he never could again.
