It turns out that a great many people feel that way, but the music companies are not interested in servicing their interests. Instead, they want to sell a lot of today's short-lived songs this week, and a lot of new ones next week because the audience is tired of the old ones. As profit-making ventures, it is hard to blame them entirely. As we all know, everybody has to make a living. So there is a lot of low-quality music on the radio. Remember, though, there was a lot of low-quality music on the radio when we were young too. We just don't listen to those songs anymore. The ones we like to keep hearing are the gems. Maybe just as many gems come out now, one at a time. I don't know. What I do know is that the system of producing a lot of bad songs and a few good ones does not suit the needs of my generation (the oldsters) at this time. Therefore we have to make our own miniature music business. And right now, for people of my generation, that system is RUclips. So in a way we actually have to say thank you to Google for making that possible. ------- Purpose: Our Text Readability Consensus Calculator uses 7 popular readability formulas to calculate the average grade level, reading age, and text difficulty of your text. Guitar Master! I been playing for 40 years and I teach. This guy is killing. It's not always easy to play with that much feeling when you have an abundance of technic and knowledge. “Master your instrument, Master the music, and then forget all that b.s. and just play.” Charlie Parker.
You don’t see these things in LA either and it’s sad... Maybe it’s just a lot of the political and social climate that keeps us all sorts divided at least here in America but I think in turn it will lead us to union again through music.
Just a beautiful moment! I play guitar.I am 76.If we had RUclips when I was 16 and I had stumbled across Bill Frissel playing this.I would have been majorily influenced in the direction of my love of the guitar.Actually today I will pick up my guitar and try to sound as beautiful as Bill sounds. He doesnt just play the notes he feels each one of them and has Tone Tone Tone to dye for!
I'd love to know when they are doing this again? Bill has such fantastic tone and phrasing. This is so cool. The world needs: more-of-this ( right now ). We Musicians are so chill. Sounds great guys. Stay Safe NYC.
O.k., so the performance, as is always the case with these gentlemen, was stunning. My favorite part, however, was when the little girl came down the stairs at the end and was transfixed...and then waved. Good taste, young lady.
Holy crap. I think I once lived in that house when I was a very small child. Either that, or one nearly identical and certainly in the same neighborhood.
Had the distinct pleasure or recording Tony and Kenny many times and their artistry is the perfect bed for Bill’s wonderful mastery of his sonic pallet
@@espenb.larsen1184 Whoops. I guess they heard the siren call of music that isn't produced for the lowest common denominator and showed up to voice their dislike.
@@woodyloudermilk7120 Well, that's not really true, even the greatest musicians have their good and less than good days, it's just that on their less than good days they still play up to a certain level. What I think the OP meant was that in this recording they really seem to be killing it (which is even more than having a good day), and I think I quite agree with that!
Wow! Just wow! You gentlemen have made my day! Art truly is where you find it! But I never expected to find these great artists just on the other side of the bicycle rack!!!
A remarkable trio. I saw them once OPEN for Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni Ba. I thought they were going to be the headliner. As probably happens with a trio like this, who just show up and start playing without much of a plan, they were not really on top of their game that night. But Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni Ba ROCKED THE JOINT.
"Stop goofing around and get back to scraping and painting! I knew we shouldn't have hired painters off of Craigslist".
Haha. 😂
The real pandemic is all those people walking by without stopping their little every day activities to listen to this genius!
I'll take this sweet display of pure artistic genius over all the hottest, fastest rockers put together ... any day
amen man amen.
YES!

Hearing covers of Beatles songs reaffirms what great songwriters they were. This is a great cover of a beautiful song.
There are few musicians that can play the entire spectrum of human emotion. Bill Frisell is one, Sonny Rollins is another :)
Thank you so much for mentioning Sonny.
@Thordur Hogna www.newyorker.com/culture/the-new-yorker-interview/sonny-rollins-on-the-pandemic-protests-and-music
In such an ever growing loud, opinionated, obnoxious and self righteous world...this is a dose of true beauty. Well played gentleman.
Not sure what planet you described
@lewis brown bro you’re exactly what you described in your comment
Well said sir
@Michael Knight Apparently, it's RUclips. ~Peace~
The world is beautiful, try looking with unconditioned eyes!

Wow a jazzz cover of the Beatles that doesn’t make me cringe. Fantastic job
Why would it make u cringe?
This is the impromptu performances that I miss stumbling across living in the big city. 👌🏿

To my ears there is a sense of gratitude in this song that is so refreshing.
There's nobody like Bill. Every single note transports you to a better place.
Ultimately a musician plays for the people Bill frisell finds a way to reach out God bless him and his band

The looper near the end evokes an ice cream truck.

They're right around the corner from me, it seems like they play 3 or 4 times a week lately. I always hear it from my window.
@@inmemoryofin is this park slope? Cobble Hill?
I just saw today that Lee Renaldo of Sonic Youth posted photos of a stoop concert in Brooklyn with Bill Frisell. That's what brought me here. So cool.
So good. The ambient street noise adds to the sound. That accordian sounding loop was spot on.
I was despondent this morning until I saw this... thank you!
This is easily one of the best things happened trough COVID.
Bill Frisell, one of the world"s great noodelers. Wonderful performance!

This is pure gold. Terriffic musicians jamming out for their own happiness.
Just fantastic...
I've seen these three guys in a wonderful show in Vicenza, Italy, this evening. No words to describe their amazing music. ❤️
That solo...he nailed the melody there like the recording which many of us have heard so many times
How he transforms the outside world into a highly reverberant concert hall simply has no explanation. :-)
It falls square into the 'good ole days' category! What a treat to have been in the neighborhood.
Ah, this has to be NYC! Love me some Frisell.
What an excellent spot to gear up and play some great music. Lucky lucky neighbours !
My favourite Beatles' song played by the classiest guitarist on the planet. It doesn't get much better.
Gorgeous music. Thanks for sharing. The world needs fewer politicians and more artists.
When Bill Frisell stays melodic and stays grounded he is a giant
Jeez...what a gig to catch! thanks so much for uploading!

That was wonderful.
Wait, the real Bill? Double cool!
This was beautiful! Thanks for posting this! My Sunday is now made.
Just great. Haven't listen to Bill Frisell in quite a while. Bass player is making love to that bass!

Oh to have such command of the neck, and this is when guitarists realize there's still so much more to learn and yearn to...admittedly.
