You nailed it. One of the hardest things for performers to do is to stand still. When you do it makes everything a bit more powerful and you did that very well.
OK you have a great voice BUT HOLY CRAP YOUR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS ARE SO AMAZING OH MY GOD. And how you did "I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love" had me doubled over laughing. GREAT JOB
Oh my gosh this was literally amazing he captured King George's spirit so well as the comedic relief in the play and he was great and ah I just love this
That is part of the humor, I think.. Here we have this guy singing a bubbly love song and you imagine him dancing around and jumping up and down (I know I did when I first listened to it), when in reality it's a stoic monarch singing about not wanting to let go of his power over a rebelling country, and willing to "kill your friends and family" to keep things from changing. God, gotta love Lin Manuel... Groff (the original King George), moves around even less then Gabriel did here. He stays pretty still during most of his performance (in part thanks to the heavy crown he used to wear in the beginning) which only makes parts like "and you can't go ooooooon!" and the final giggle in "I Know Him" even funnier, because they stand out -- almost like a break in character, but not xD
this was actually really good, have you considered auditioning for the National Tour? even though its unlikely hardly anybody will get in, its still worth a try, and you are very good!
+Ela K It's not highly unlikely. I know people who have been on Broadway tours (and I know one person who is currently on one.) A person like him, who is obviously a voice major in what is probably a BFA program at a university, is actually a great candidate for a Broadway tour, and there's a good chance that he'd actually make it, based on this performance. I know Hamilton is popular, and the competition is going to be fierce, but it actually wouldn't be a stretch for this young man to be a good candidate for this show (especially considering actors for the tours are changed out more often, and understudies/swings are necessary, and they'll probably double cast it, too.)
SunyiSideUp thats what i mean - there is a lot of competition. so much that i'd say 99% of people who audition are not likely to be even picks to be chosen, but this guy is going somewhere, in my opinioN!
sorry but i kinda call bull shit... at the start of the song king George isn't supposed to be condescending hes supposed to be calm and collected i don't think he would honestly be able to replace him but he did do amazing in this performance honestly so idk
God bless America this is what I strive for as a performer. I am honestly thrilled that he absolutely killed this song. It has to be my favorite from Hamilton the Musical and I love watching others perform it. Thank you for being so talented.
I don't know if there is a larger crowd, but at my school, I know of about 6-7 Hamilfans. So, if I did this, I would have at least 1 person yelling along. Just remember, be very energetic and pull the audience into the song.
This is phenomenal, it's so rare to find someone with your sense of the stage and audience, and with such a commanding presence onstage. Well done for being a real talent :)
This is absolutely fabulous, well done! I don't understand how anybody clicked the dislike button unless they were drunk. Honestly, this is one of the best renditions of the song I've ever heard. This really brightened up my day, thank you.
As I am watching this, I was rendered speechless and into a fit of giggles at the sheer awesomeness of this performance. I applaud you, and you certainly captivated the audience... I've never seen a person perform this well, ever...
Okay, that was hilarious and amazing! Me being an actress myself know it is hard to stand still or fit the expression just right for comedic feeling, you did absolutely PERFECT!!!! I love this song and was thinking of doing it and now that i found this i have a brilliant example to meet with. Once again Amazing!
If this was a presentation during your senior recital, you must be graduating. It's a delightful performance. "Lucky Penny" with Mr. Autrey was equally amusing. Best wishes for a bright and happy future. I hope to be seeing you on Broadway.
Love this! Really really love this! As my old choir teacher put it, singing a song isn't just about singing a song. It's about telling a story in which you not only use your voice, but facial expressions as well and actually put life into the song. You my friend, did exactly just that. Your facial expressions were spot on, my favorite part was at the end where you got everyone singing along!
What a great performance. Wonderfully sung, brilliantly acted and I loved the characterisation you brought through phrasing combined with facial expressions!
I just love how he just stands there most of the song and sometimes moves slightly and makes those facial expressions, its amazing, 'cause he really sells the crazy!
This kid's got a future. As Neil Patrick Harris said in the opening number of the 2013 Tonys, speaking of Broadway performers, "We WERE that kid." I wish this guy nothing but success, whether he sticks with theater or not.
Oh, and it should not be lost that he made us believe he was the King of England while wearing a flannel shirt under a silk robe. But such are the budgets of school musicals. But the guy rocked it.
Mixtape_Master it's mostly the same, he just moved a bit more. In the actual play, he didn't really move until he moved his shoulders a bit and he just stared at the audience
Savvy Sabby it's cuz he had no microphone so he had to put all his focus into singing loudly. Had he started dancing, his voice would have been off key
It's very rare that you find a student performing something so good from a musical like this. Amazing!!!
Absolutely brilliant!
same..
Yeah! Also the fact that you literally have over 1K likes and 2 comments now 3
stayed 3 for 3 more@@grayson8206
He's a natural performer

Btw love ur picture john kransinski is such a hawty
The way he paused there, unlike in the original production, was brilliant. Great delivery.
My parrot started screaming along when the crowd joined in😂
That's hilarious
Valerie Woodside i laughed so hard at this HAHAAH
I want a parrot now
XD
You know a performance is great when a parroquia joins in
That laugh at the end was almost as unexpected as him actually being a really solid singer who did that song better than most people would
Just like everyone else:
OMG voice and
OMG facial expressions!
my favourite Hamilton song ever!
Same
Mine too, and I don't know why I love it when it's so irrelevant compared to the other songs
Same.
Zoe Pirate It's just really catchy and fun!
Kerry Fraser same and Aaron burr
THIS GUY'S VOCALS ARE SERIOUSLY UNDERESTIMATED
Who exactly is underestimating them?
HE NAILED THIS OMG
Oh my gosh this was literally amazing he captured King George's spirit so well as the comedic relief in the play and he was great and ah I just love this
HE PLAYED THE KING SO WELL

Simone O'Neal it's also the other people who tried out for king George and didn't make it
One of them is Lafayette
This song really sounds more like it should be performed dancing around the stage wildly
i agree
Yep especially the part when he say la la la la
Yeah but it actually sounds like its a pretty hard song to sing well :)
Saw it live and this is actually very similar to how Groff performs it. This guy did an excellent job :D
That is part of the humor, I think.. I can so see Tom Hiddleston dressing as Loki and doing it this way X). This was so funny and amazingly sung!
OH YES THAT WOULD BE PERFECT
Blimey!!! This is AMAZING!!!!!!
Pink?? I didn’t expect to see you here! Why does this comment not have more likes? I also agree! It was amazing!

That little giggle at the end was wonderful.

the choices with the expressions and body language and stuff were so great. hilarious

E K what’s a national tour?
This guy felt like a mix of King George and Joffrey from Game Of Thrones. Awesome song sung by an awesome actor!
You nailed the sass before you even started singing...this is amazing.
My god. You have so much talent. The facial expressions and movements really add so much more to this performance. Great Job.
OH MY GOSH! He does SUCH a good job with this!
Such talent!

this man's voice and expressions are gold!
Lin and Groff need to see this. This guy is brilliant!
He performs this absolutely flawlessly
This was so good. He sung it so well and as everyone already said his facial expressions are perfect :D
You made him look like he was using America as a beard. And it's PERFECT
Dude you could so replace the current king geogre when he retires.
sorry but i kinda call bull shit... at the start of the song king George isn't supposed to be condescending hes supposed to be calm and collected i don't think he would honestly be able to replace him but he did do amazing in this performance honestly so idk

I want to sing this at my school talent show but I'm scared that when I yell "everybody" no one will sing
- studylog - I WILL COME TO UR SCHOOL AND SING ALONG AS LOUD AS I CAN
I don't know if there is a larger crowd, but at my school, I know of about 6-7 Hamilfans. So, if I did this, I would have at least 1 person yelling along. Just remember, be very energetic and pull the audience into the song.
the sasssss killed me! loved it

I can't stop watching this magnificent performance. His face is priceless.
This guys so natural at performing! This is unreal , just the right voice to make it in musical theatre! I hope he goes far!
it made me so happy at the amount of people that started singing when he said “everybody”
I've probably tapped the replay button so many times it will start demanding payment. I love this
This is absolutely fabulous, well done! I don't understand how anybody clicked the dislike button unless they were drunk. Honestly, this is one of the best renditions of the song I've ever heard. This really brightened up my day, thank you.

Rocked it. Absolutely killed it. The giggle at the end was perfection. Bravo!

Ooooh this young man has a future in musical theatre - his facial expressions were spot on!

I could see him on Broadway! He actually put the character's feeling in! SO talented! Awesome!
I don't know what I loved more: your belt or the giggle at the end
WOW! I met you when I auditioned for BW back in January and I am so glad I came across this video and finally got to hear you sing! :D Amazing!!
If this was a presentation during your senior recital, you must be graduating. It's a delightful performance. "Lucky Penny" with Mr. Autrey was equally amusing. Best wishes for a bright and happy future. I hope to be seeing you on Broadway.
this student did amazing, I was blown away at this performance. very good
Perfectly fabulous XD
the facial expressions are everything. AUDITION FOR THE NATIONAL TOUR!

Jesus H. If this boy is not on Broadway by now, we're all missing out!
Couldnt tell between the musical and this magnificent performance
Your voice and the facial expressions make this the best performance ever, good job!
This is how we all should be living
He has such good energy I love ‘em
Now THIS kid gets it. He never really leaves his royal throne. And that's important.
What a great work! Your Voice and how you catch the attention of the public is so good!! Great work👍
So good! You acted and sang just like Groff😂 I hope you make it big!!
I really like how reserved you are; it's so easy to over-do this song and this was such a breath of fresh air :)
I love it!!!
so is this what it looked like in the actual musical because I'll never know otherwise
a bit diff
Mixtape_Master it's mostly the same, he just moved a bit more. In the actual play, he didn't really move until he moved his shoulders a bit and he just stared at the audience
Savvy Sabby it's cuz he had no microphone so he had to put all his focus into singing loudly. Had he started dancing, his voice would have been off key
Jacob Brinson also the crown was super heavy Jonathan Groff said he could barely move
