Hi, The Central Station 3 is a great device. I can highly recommend it. Don't forget to look at the "CS3 Getting Started" video before purchasing. Most people do not need the CS3+: ruclips.net/video/wANbrR0fdJk/видео.html Enjoy ;-) Bo

Nice summary of the updates! I still keep pushing my switch from my CS 2 to 3 out as I control everything with software anyway, but the CS 3 display certainly looks better.
    Cheers, Axel

Hi Axel, I did the same thing when I had my CS2 - it took a loong time before upgrading. Now my CS1 and CS2 are collecting dust somewhere in storage... However, I do agree with you that when you are using software to control the trains there is little need for an upgrade. However, it's a cool device! Enjoy ;-) Bo

If you use the RVNC viewer, you can still draw both track plans and control boards on a computer.

Hi Olav, yes - fortunately one can still share the screen using the screen server. Thanks for the tip! Enjoy ;-) Bo

Really excellent video. I learned a lot thanks!
I was hoping to see how to configure SUSI on locomotives but I didn't

Hi John, Glad you liked the video! As for the SUSI values - unfortunately, I do not have a decoder that supports this. However, I see you already got an answer here: www.marklin-users.net/forum/posts/t50741-SUSI-CV-Menu-in-CS3 Enjoy ;-)

This update breaks the connection between link88, s88 from the cs3 To rocrail and itrain. This is caused because there is a big flaw in the code. There is also some trouble with decoders from toher manufacturers. I recommend not to update until this is fixed. Also There are other issues which marklin is working on it. Personally I wrote an email to marklin and they know these issues and they are working on it.

Still waiting for a fix, all my locomotives with ESU 5 sound decoder are in constant rediscover for security reasons, this update is a giant step back. Wish there was a way to revert to previous version.

@@piotrmkg you can downgrade. There are different forums which explain how to do it. I did it and it worked well

      Hi Eduardo,
That does not sound good. I hope they fix it soon. I have not had any issues, but have also only been doing more simple stuff (only Märklin locomotives on a small simple layout)... hope they fix it soon.
Could you provide a link to where to downgrade in case I need it. Note: RUclips will not allo a comment with a link from a viewer to be shown until I approve it, so it may not be directly visible for a couple of days until I approve.
      Enjoy ;-) Bo

@@ModelTrainFun the procedure is in Itrain forum. There is a link to the denmark pge where the old official 2.4.1 version was still there. It is very simple. Put the old version in a usb stick and then upgrade like normal but instead of 2.5.1 it will appear 2.4.1. In any case Marklin has said that is working on 2.5.2 and it will be realeased before Christmas

Nice walk through of the new update, Bo. The other big change is that the old CS3App, which they stopped supporting last year, is now completely defunct as of this update. I was still using the old "Main Station App" and "Mobile Station App" which I purchased years ago, but with the new update (2.5.1) it says "license not recognized." Fortunately, the new WebApp is easily done, and I have it save on my Android devices as an App link. On the flip side, the 2.5.1 update has had problems with many folks. My only problem is that I currently can not control functions on some of my non-Märklin trains (especially Roco) on the computer app or the Android WebApps. Hopefully, that issue sorts out.

      Hi Anthony,
Yes a shame the app is not longer working. However, I have not used it for years as the CS3 has both a screen server and a web server. So easy to see on any computer, tablet or phone. Wasn't the app also made for the CS2?
Hmmm - not working for non-Marklin locomotives - not a nice bug and hope they will fix soon. I have so far only been running Märklin locomotives and have gone on Xmas vacation, so I cannot try until I return in January :-( Bugger!
Hope you find a way around the issue. Enjoy ;-) Bo

I appreciated your feedback on the Marklin CS3 V2.5.1 update. For my part, I saved this new version in my CS3. But I notice the disappearance of the “multiple decoder” selection for light signals and switches. I don't see this selection button anywhere in this V2.5.1.
Do you have this problem? How to use the multiple decoder?
Many thanks for your response in return.

      Hi Jean-Claude,
A little unsure what you are referring to - I think you are talking about the configuration of e.g. the turnout where you can see the old/new multidecoder? This page has indeed changed - however, it seem it is the same functionality and just a question of there is only some of the pictures that were previously there of the dip switches... I only see 2 pictures there as well. I do not believe this changes any functionality of the CS3 but a shame one cannot see some of the other ones. I did not go through all my accessories, but perhaps it only shows the ones it knows are the options?
      Good catch! Enjoy ;-) Bo

They need to add an elasp time meter to record loco time operated.

    • @ModelTrainFun
      @ModelTrainFun  8 месяцев назад

Hi Mike, I absolutely agree - this would be a nice feature. One thing that might helps is that modern Märklin decoders actually keep track of time and distance. You can see this on the CS3 under the locomotive configuration, then entering the decoder conf. The group is called "Telemetry". Still need the feature in the CS3, but this can be helpful. Enjoy ;-) Bo
