Hey, it's been 6 months so maybe you found something already, but great ways to start are 1) volunteer as Moderator on forums, Discord, Twitch channels or for small indie games, 2) build your own community (Twitch, brand, a fun account you have, e.g. just a meme twitter, this already helps a lot with understanding the basic challenges and it's good experience) 3) start building a portfolio of the transferrable experiences you have based on the above or other skills Some companies offer internships or junior positions, others are open to just passionate people so there is a way for sure, the more experience you gather (or the more convincing you sound) the better. Hope it works out!

How exactly can people afford to game? Break it down. Do you do it once in a while after you've worked and gotten your pay in real life?
