Absolutely loved your intro!! I'd say all that hard work and dedication payed off, you killed it 👏 I've always wondered how long it takes others to learn these really challenging songs, so I definitely appreciate you putting that in this video.
Thank you so much!! Yeah, it takes a long time to learn these songs without much experience. But I think you can shorten that to less time if you put in the hours. An amazing example of this is @ColeRolland, who says in a video that he learned it in about a week, or @NikNocturnal, who streamed the whole process on Twitch, which took him 18 hours!! It definitely takes some time, but experience and dedication can lead to faster results. By the way, these two guy's covers are absolutely amazing, you sould definitely check them out!
Thank you!! I use a Cort CR 200 BK, a Behringer U-Phoria UMC204 audio interface to record, a DAW called Reaper and the Amped Roots virtual amp to add distortion. I recommend it all for people who want to record guitar!
Very nicely done! I've been playing for a little over a year now (I also use REAPER and I have the same pick lol) and I can already see how far I've come. Still, I couldn't imagine being able to play this song as good as you do in another year and a half. You can be proud of yourself!
2 years of practice to master this? you nailed it man! it took me forever to master just the pinch harmonic when I was 11! how long did it take you to master sweep picking? + I've seen your second heartbeat cover, well earned a sub!
Thank you so much!! Yeah, I remember learning the pinch harmonic and it was indeed very tough, but sweep picking was even tougher! I actually learned it with A7X's Nightmare, the solo has some very good practice sweep picking licks. It took me about one month and a half to being able to do it, but, in my opinion, that was a well spent amount of time!!
damn! dont ever let it slip! i became an adult and got less time to play and my picking hand suffered a bit. chops arent as effortless as they used to be which makes me sad but i can still play mostly anything i want just need to warm up for an hour lol
Honestly the mix is a little too dense with the original tracks in and I can't distinguish yours at times, but because I learned this song myself, although we play it a little differently (mainly position wise), I can tell that you know how to play this, well done little man.
@@ultimatesteve I've also seen many different tabs, and I've just put it together my own way and mixed it up a little bit. Of course there are other ways to play it, but I think it is pretty accurate. Plus, you have a lot more fun if you play it your own way!!
@@ultimatesteve It's better to watch Dragoforce themselves play it live than tabs if you want to see exactly where they play it position wise. And pay close attention to the studio recording, slow it down. That said, even themselves they don't play it exactly the same live as they did in the studio version, so it doesn't matter so much, just enjoy!
Thanks!! Yeah, in fact, Cry Thunder is my second favorite song by them, and I was planning on covering it soon. I think it's going to take some time, but I'm confident I'll get there. Thanks for the suggestion!!
Thanks a lot!! I first learned the rythm guitar and tried to master it at high speed, slowly increasing the tempo. Then, I actually gave up on the song for a little while. Then I learned the two interludes and the intro (which took a very long time), and gave up again when I tried learning the solo. I would just practice what I learned, and I didn't have the courage to face the solo. But, about two months ago, I was feeling ready so started learning it, and when I mastered it at high speed, I recorded the cover. I'm very happy you enjoyed it!!
@Marc Lozano I'm just seeing your reply and thanks man, I appreciate you sharing. Also where did you learn it or what do u use to learn stuff if not by ear. And honestly, I might give it a shot aha. You definitely keep it man, that's one more subscriber to you, I'll look forward to seeing more stuff from you!
Thank you!! I learned it with Songsterr, a web page with around 800,000 tabs. It was a life saver!! I also found very useful the @NikNocturnal cover, because it has tabs. I think everyone who wants to play it should definitely give it a shot, because you never know! It may take a long time or a short time but you'll eventually get the feel with the song. Through hard work, I believe anyone can learn anything!
I used the Amped Roots guitar plugin, I use it for most of my covers. I like it a lot, it's very versatile and you can get a variety of different tones!!
damn, at this age I was playing this in guitar hero :D though I would've liked to hear your guitar better, the backing track was a little too loud, can barely hear you playing.
good job dude. i will say either have your guitar a little louder or turn down the actual song. i can hear your guitar through most parts, but its competing with the song so it can be hard to distinguish.
13 y/o dude that is MASSIVE! absolutely amazing!
Thank you!! I am glad you liked it!
