Been listening to the qasida burda a lot lately (different versions etc), but this brings me to tears everytime. I know books are widely available, but would anyone be able to recommend somewhere to get the cd for it? Somehow would include the english translation too ideally.
Salaam, As far as I'm aware this edition is the only one with a CD, You might be able to find it for sale online with the CD, book and translation (Shaykh Hamza Yusuf) Otherwise the Essential Islam burda edition is a new publication Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad's translation is also highly recommended - The Mantle Adorned. There are also commentaries available in English.

The interludes are different poems that the singers have added to complement the meanings of the original poem. The interludes happen before and after key/important moments in the poem. The qasida al burda alone is only around 160 lines and would only take half an hour to recite or less, however because of all of the extra poetry they are reciting this is why it is more than 2 hours. The reason the interludes are not translated here is because the original book/Cd did not have the translations and I unfortunately cannot translate Arabic.
