- So I got Hellreign82 and myself out to intercept a Bear and get outselves into some trouble as per usual. We still have some work to do but we obviously are starting to get the hang of some systems.

He also has quite the repertoire for taking a bird home missing one or more pieces, most notably wings.
I also heard he damaged a friendly aircraft while trying to take off...

Now that is a combination of RUclipsrs I did not expect, very pleasing result.
Ralfi, this is precisely the type of mission that I'm interested in with the new HeatBlur F-14 module. I was in VF-33 from 88 thru 92 and this intercept mission was a big part of the work our squadron did in-theater. Wouldn't it be interesting if we could setup missions in which we intercept, follow, nudge the interloper away with ROE that temper our urge to lock and launch... War games with the Bear were a big source of entertainment for our interceptors in that time frame. I don't know what mechanics would have to go into such a mission edit session but would that not be very interesting.
Also lets get some hand signals for the RIO and pilots :) We have the salute on lunch but I can think of a couple others in flight that would be enjoyable :)

Also I heard people moaning about the quantity of countermeasures you can have on a hornet, but I remember hornets having able to get external CM pods on wings in the Finnish Airforce

We don't have that much time in the aircraft. I have yet to do one carrier landing. Instead of looking like absolute penises "trying" to land on the carrier we just opted for a runway due to lack of time and experience (I have less than 4 hours in this bird so far). I just literally finished my finals yesterday so yeah.... timing on these module launches is always really bad for me.
You know what they say "You miss 100% of all carrier landings you dont take" or something like that =P
I get your point though. Still, I would have still loved to see you balls up the landing on a carrier. xD

I mean I get what you're saying but the amount of flak I'd get for doing that would be too much. People will bitch at you for forgetting to flip one switch that you might have missed. When the spotlight is on you it makes others irritable at ANY kind of failure you may make because they expect you to be an expert in under 4 hours of flying....
Those people should get bent then. As long as YOU are having fun and enjoying yourself, thats all that should matter. Personally, I enjoy a failed attempt just as much as a successful attempt. But maybe I'm just weird. =P
But hey, you do you mate. I'll still watch and enjoy the content you make regardless. =)
Hey, Ralfidude - how to get a pilot's body and textures in F-18? Also - do you use Track Ir Z axis for zooming to hud or some finger slider on throttle/stick?
Shift + P, and friction slider on throttle for zoom.

Loved the video! Can someone help me real quick? I always get tally, no-joy, visual, and blind mixed up. Which one is which in terms of use. Like, which ones are used for friendlies and bogies. Then which are used for bandits?
Know that some of these terms are interchangable. As long as you are effectively able to explain your intentions, then all is fine.
Tally: I see the bad guy. (Once again, some people might say it when they really mean Visual which is used for friendlies)
Visual: I see "it" (it can be anything, typically friendly units, friendly plane, friendly tank, etc. but it can also be used for just simply saying 'I see the thing you are talking about' which may not necessarily be a friendly)
No-joy: Is a wild card, can mean a bunch of things but typically when flight lead tells you to hit or kill something you but you just can't see it or find it you'd say "no joy"
Blind: You don't see the friendly unit, like "2's Blind" when you can't find your flight lead. But sometimes we say "Blind on Bandit" and that's pretty self explanatory, but basically same as saying "No joy".
So don't get bogged down with the details. It's a game. Have fun with it, but fly responsibly! ;)

The only thing that would've made this vid even better was if you guys came back and trapped on the carrier versus a normal runway landing. :P Awesome video though. Great dog fights. Great editing. Is the TU-22 module still going to be a thing? I havent followed ED or DCS in general in a while so even the hornet is new for me. Does anyone know if that was going to be a thing or was that just speculation? Id love to see bombers in DCS.
PS. Those of you who have played the early access. Do the F/A-18C come with tutorials like the A-10C or the UH-1?
