Going to be interesting what happens to this show once Joel goes golfing.
I'm definitely in the minority of this show. I thought it was good but didn't think it was anywhere near as emotionally impacting as the game is. Maybe it's because I feel like the experience of being in control of the characters is more effective than just watching them. It's also scarier and adds a lot of tension. Idk, not really excited for season 2 though. Especially because I never liked Abby lol
I found the show more emotional escpesialy episode 3.
Game was definitely better.
The reason TLOU 1 AND 2 are good games is because it is written as a movie into a game and not a game into a movie. The format is clearly seen all throughout the story. But John and the others, although they are great commentators, are not video gamers. The new God of war 1 and 2 are great story telling. Horizon series is great story telling. Ghost of Tsushima, Final Fantasy 7, and you cannot forget the whole Metal Gear Series (especially Snake eater), and many more. Don't get me wrong TLOU is great but it is not the ONLY good video story telling...also Uncharted series too. Video games are getting better but you have to play them in order to know...
Season 1 is brilliant but The game is so much better hand's down
Redemption Red Series, God of War Series, The Last of Us Series, Uncharted Series and Ghost Series are the best in gaming!

The fact that John still thinks TLOU is the best story in video games is a testament to only one thing: that John Campea doesn't play video games.
1st game is up there, but I don't think it's the best of all time. At least not mine.

That really depends if Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive (Parent Company) are willing to license their IP to a studio.
I really doubt they will. They rejected offers before for a GTA license. I don’t know if they’re willing to do it for Red Dead.
@@rrajendran89 yeah I know they are very protective of it, I think recently they have said about maybe licensing out Red Dead tho, as that has so much potential, but only as a TV show with high production value

As much as I think both are monumental pieces of narrative, I do not understand how that argument stands when Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy exists
Red Dead Redemption 2 takes the cake I reckon, but I'd put TLOU2 right there beneath it, and it certainly wins in how much of an emotional roller coaster it took me on
The Last of Us I think takes it, TLOU 2 is garbage.
Last of Us, especially Part 2, is a big inspiration for my novels.
You can subjectively think whatever you want about the Abby character, but the fact that Caitlyn Denver who is playing Abby in the show had to have extra security on set while filming in anticipation foe potential violence and attacks towards her just because of the fictional character she is playing is absolutely disgusting and those animals that do that are not real fans.
Don't mention Abby. You're going the send the losers into a rage..
It's ok to dislike a character. It's not ok to send hate towards the actor playing the character.
The only thing I don't like about this trailer is ellie doesn't look like she aged 5 years

For me, I think the big issue in how I visualize Ellie is that everyone in Part II whose supposed to be 19 looks like they're in their mid 20's. Like my siblings are 18/19 and I just think all of those characters from the game look more my age then their age. Bella definitely doesn't look any older really besides some scars and hair changes, but I can't really think of any other solution other than to just hope it plays on the screen right or shorten the time gap.
@@yeahiguessman I think media twisted the perception of 19 year olds in audience's minds by casting older actors as teenagers. 19 year olds still look like teenagers in real life. You don't really start looking mature until your mid 20s.

I would argue that season one needed more infected to raise the stakes for the finale a lil more.. but all other changes to the narrative did improve the story overall

You say Episode 3 and I immediately think Star Wars.
I'm excited. I doubt it'll be as good as the game but as long as they stick fairly close to the source to the material, develop a few of the characters more and up the action from the first season then i will be happy.
I think they will never match for gamers who have played the game the experience it gave them with the feelings it gives you. As long as it’s a faithful adaptation which I believe it will be I think it will be really good.

I may be in the minority here but i wasnt as enamoured with season one as the rest of the world. I didnt hate it, but I just didnt gravitate toward it the way everyone else seemed to. Played the first game 7+ times and it was instantly one of my favorites....I didn't hate part two but I was exhausted by the end of it. Season 2s trailer is pretty good and I will watch it but I CAN wait lol

Completely agree. The first season was good, but not a mind blowing experience. I'm actually a huge fan of the second game, so I'm excited for this season.

everyone that has seen the show that has never played the game are going to be mad at season 2. but the way Part 2 was handled was a masterpiece and i still defend it to this day. it’s honestly one of the greatest games ever made and wayyy better than part 1. i just hope however they end this show we get a clear idea if we will ever get a part 3 game wise

The first trailer for season one got me giddy and excited because of how faithful of an adaptation it looked. The first trailer for this season left a sobbing mess because I know what’s in store for us.
When John mentioned second exodus did he mean Exodus part 2. I’m assuming… I might have to rewatch that if John thinks it’s that good…been some years.

I absolutely adore this franchise, especially Part 2. And Im DYING for a third game.
However, to think that this is the best story of any video game ever is pretty crazy. Red Dead? Bioshock? God of War?? Hell, even most of the Final Fantasy games have better stories.
To me TLOU is not just the best videogame story. It's the best story. Period. That's because just like John I'm very drawn to these themes and TLOU just hit me like nothing else.

Na, this was a brilliantly cut together trailer. Looks awesome, and really hoping it's a step up from S1, cuz it was hit and miss for me.
If they do to Joel what they did in the 2nd game, this series will get nuked...

My favorite game story is a little niche but it's Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Like TLOU 1 and 2, it's very much an examination of what happens to good people when bad things happen to them, but also layers on a nuanced portrayal of psychosis with norse and danish folklore and the ending revelation always makes me cry. So good, would also make a great show
This is gonna be so damn good. And for those that dont know, its about to get extremely tragic
I hope it's broken into two seasons, with Ellie & Abby's perspectives like the game.

@@jasonx350z4 but those were still individual seasons, just with big gaps in between. Maybe if we still got 23 episodes season they would do the full part 2 game as season 2 and the mid season would be the exact middle of the game and a 6 month - a year break before returning for the rest.
But you’ll never see a show actually being titled and marketed as season 2: part 1 for example. It can work for films but not tv
@@AMIN_mash Season 4 of Stranger Things was basically Part 1 and Part 2 and came out a few weeks/months apart on Netflix. Part 2 also had its own unique trailer as well!

Dective pikachu has great visuals but the story is garbage. None of the great unique stories from the games or shows or movies. Generic American slop.
As soon as I heard them playing that song in this trailer… I knew we were in for something special.
I’m avoiding this season altogether, cuz I love both of the games and as much as the filmmaker in me wanted to love the first season, I just didn’t. The actors still didn’t fit the characters they were portraying for me. And the Joel/Ellie relationship felt rushed in the end. 6/10.

I'm of a strong opinion that the fans that weren't happy with season 1 are the ones that would not be happy with anything. I'm not saying it as an insult or that they're haters. I mean that they are so strongly attached to the original that they would never embrace any adaptation.

There some moments blew me away 4example: (the giraffe secne) i was like nah this can be real (the giraffe) until i did my research & i was oh sh*t its real ?! It blew me away. But i do agree with the whol jole/ ellie relationship did fell rushed mostly in the finale
Season 2 is gonna be an experience for those that have and haven't played the game. The fireworks of emotions from reactions is gonna be a whole thing itself.
I loved seeing more looks at Jesse and Dina I wonder if they'll follow the same story arcs for them

Im seeing ellie looking at the beaten Joel. My heart is raising again like the first time playing TLOU2 and seeing that scene. So much Anger i felt that time. Whoa... This giving me the chills.
The opening scene of the first episode literally still gives me chills.
So what is the speculation about how many episodes before you know who dies? I am trying to think how they would structure the second game because its a lot trickier to adapt with the dueling perspectives.
They’ve stated its splits into two parts
If it drops before the end of May then yes, Last of Us will qualify for next year’s Emmy’s.

Every change that mazin made actually made the story better than it was from the game 💀🙄 ... I'm convinced that John could actually sell crap 💩 to a blind man 👨🦯 and convince him that is pudding and it's delicious 😃😂😂
