this song makes me cry because it reminds me of my dad who had been diagnosed with ALS. despite that he kept working and providing for the family and pushing through the pain every day. he was a hero and this song reminds me of what he must have went through every day to be the man we saw him as, and what he must have thought at the end of every agonizing day. i love you dad.
wow, listened to this song as a child... listening to it in my 20's now. this song opens up near meaning's than i saw previously. It's crazy. Slightly life changing how time can change our perspective on things.
I was 20 when this song came out. Now rapidly approaching my forties I certainly agree. You will see things even more differently in another twenty years.
I was born when this song came out, and then when I turned 14, I discovered it by accident while in a rabbit hole of superhero fandoms. Now I am almost 22, and I still listen to this song on my way to college and back. And I understand it a lot better now than when I was 14.
Well I guess I'll chime in and say that I think this song is about how hard it is sometimes to be a good man and father. A good father can't always let his kids see him cry or fall on his knees, he has to be the constant rock that everyone can turn to. It's his job to put his personal emotions on the shelf and always be the safety blanket for the family. Guess this song reminds me that I got some improving to do.
Alex Steckly yes it reflects Superman...but the song is mostly reflecting Superman's humanity...how he wishes he could be like every other human... settle down...marry someone...but he can't...so he can only dream of something he can never be. Kinda like how us humans wish we could be like Superman.
It's not that easy to be me...in trying to make everyone happy...sometimes I'm not..but I keep flying anyway. Inside of me is that special place...and everyday I pull my cape out...even when I don't feel like it...I keep flying....Heroes have the right to bleed.😔
Your kind words ring true and strong in my heart. They mean more than you could know. May you find strength also on the path of thorns that lies before each of us. A warrior's soul sings in you. Not a song of blood and ravens. But the symphony of peace, a tune harder to hear. Fight on my friend.
Love this song but I come back to this channel to see this uploaders school pictures. I graduated school 12 years ago when this video was uploaded. Nostalgic. Thank you 🙏.
I love this song until now it brings back memories when I was in my late 30s when I heard it playing I turned the volume up and sing along with it….. it really makes my day ❤
Saw the Batman vs. Superman movie and thought of both of these characters when listening to this song. Rock on Superman and Batman. That makes you a hero too.
I wish to dedicate this song to the memory of two people who are no longer here my life. The first is my father who passed in April of ‘94 when I was 5. Even though we were in each other’s lives for a brief year period, he was my Superman and he used to say I was his Champion Son or “Champ” as he would call me. The other is my brother in law. Cavalry Sergeant Kurt Howard, 31st Cavalry Regiment, United States Army, tragically killed in training while on reserves. Both these men were my hero’s whether one raised me or the other served our nation! As this song said, especially when describing the sacrifices that our military makes for all they do “ITS NOT EASY”!
Raymond Manuel!!! Your the first person that comes in my mind everytime i hear this song! Our memory still remain. Where ever you are now? Mon i miss you so much.
I was born in 2005 and I have gotten a heart condition 6 surgerys day by day and even a year I suffered alot and my parents were crying time to time and thinking if I could ever survive. Until 2006 I was able to go home and experience life . When I got home, they place me into a crib and they started to play this song and I felt happy and smiling in front of my parents. Now that I'm 18 years old I was confused on what song this was about until i played it. And my brain triggered a hardcore memory of me as a baby and having a mom and dad that never gave up on me. Love you Mom & Dad ❤
Superman (It's Not Easy) I can't stand to fly I'm not that naive I'm just out to find The better part of me I'm more than a bird... I'm more than a plane More than some pretty face beside a train It's not easy to be me Wish that I could cry Fall upon my knees Find a way to lie About a home I'll never see It may sound absurd... but don't be naive Even Heroes have the right to bleed I may be disturbed... but won't you concede Even Heroes have the right to dream It's not easy to be me Up, up and away... away from me It's all right... You can all sleep sound tonight I'm not crazy... or anything I can't stand to fly I'm not that naive Men weren't meant to ride With clouds between their knees I'm only a man in a silly red sheet Digging for kryptonite on this one way street Only a man in a funny red sheet :) like it ;) Looking for special things inside of me It's not easy to be me
this song was played at the funeral of my friend who died of cancer in 2009. i still lose it every time i hear this song being played. rip, we miss you so much
I was sad one day and I wanted to listen to this song. My friend left me because he got sick of me and never wanted to talk to me again. And it made me feel like you think its that easy to get rid of someone just because they are different. My friend no longer talks to me anymore but i will always say he is my friend. This song made me feel better because it relates to what happened. I love this song I wouldnt be able to make it without it
I wanna go home! Live near my sister that finally found, after being separated in the childrens home! God please bless me with the fortune to have this come true one day!!
well seen how superman made mistakes through that movie, this song fits it. the movie shows that with all the powers he is probably more human than all of us, including the last scene with zod.
Sorry about that, I am somewhat of a poet at heart. A rare thing in these troubled times. But a person must leave something of themselves to be remembered after they are gone, even if only for a short while. Thank you again.
Kongrats! Ang galing mo! You represent the true pride of Filipinos...... Ahhh..... Philippines our country! But sadly I have moved to America already..... -Dakota-
I think this song does a good job describing the other side of a coin. when all you can do is make gif animations, you look at Pixar like animation gods, but they're really the same as us. they have their struggles and their hardships just like normal people. same can be said for superman or batman. they seem like such badasses, but they still have problems in their daily lives.
My aunty dedicated this song to me when I was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. I was eighteen and had my whole life in front of me. Like everybody at that age I believed nothing bad could happen to me. M.D. has become my kryptonite and I wish there was a positive side but there isn't. Positivity is reserved for those who do not know what true suffering is. I do not have long left to live. But I guess I can't complain at least I enjoyed my childhood. Sic transit gloria. F.T.W.

This nearly made me cry. Thanks for sharing

This song takes me back to 1990s.... what an incredible Time to be alive!
Supposedly this song was made in response to 9/11.
Sometimes, no matter how much we try to be strong, we still want to break down and cry when the pain is too much to bear.
ten years later and i its still all too real i wanna cry i lost the love my life at the age of 23 but im gooing to stay strong
Watching Smallville and this came on, I had to find it, now it's playing on the TV and my laptop, so good!
When is this is in smallville ?
@@motion-movies best episode with kiddo Ryan that left us too soon s1e16
If Scrubs had this as the theme tune it would have had such a different feel to it.
I remember driving in the city at night when this song came on the radio. The feels...
Batman: "Tell me... Do you bleed?"
Superman:" Dont be naive. Even heroes have the right o bleed."
Remember when this was in Smallville
I'm watching that episode now lmao
Me too!! my favorite Smallville, Greetings from Dominican Republic.
i cried on that fucking episode, i just came here from it haha
Lol that's what sent me here xD
Smallville is a great tv show
I remember this playing on the series finale of code black. Made me remember how much I love this song.
I love this song it is so good. It also has so much meaning.

I'm sure you're a good father. You wrote this comment so that means you self reflect. That puts you ahead of a lot of people.
Alex Alden I appreciate that!
Alex Alden
um it's pretty clearly about superman

I remember hearing this on the radio when it first came out, Autumn 2001. America was still collectively dealing with September 11th.
R.I.P.. CHRISTOPHER REEVES
A TRUE SUPERMAN ...
This song reminds me of the past and I miss it😢

It's not easy to be me..
I'm looking for special things inside of me..
SUPERMAN..!
This is a great song by them. One of their best! I always listen to it.
Keep your head up and stay strong. I'm praying for you.
I'm addicted to that voice. Love it. ❤❤❤
"I'm only a man in a funny red sheet"
... Never really knew what this line was supposed to be, and now I can't help but laugh at how silly it is.
I was thinking cape....
Superman has a red cape
his cape was made form the baby blanket that was in his ship when he arrived
I was born in 2005 and I have gotten a heart condition 6 surgerys day by day and even a year I suffered alot and my parents were crying time to time and thinking if I could ever survive. Superman (It's Not Easy)
I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
I'm just out to find
The better part of me
I'm more than a bird... I'm more than a plane
More than some pretty face beside a train
It's not easy to be me
Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home I'll never see
It may sound absurd... but don't be naive
Even Heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed... but won't you concede
Even Heroes have the right to dream
It's not easy to be me
Up, up and away... away from me
It's all right... You can all sleep sound tonight
I'm not crazy... or anything
I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
Men weren't meant to ride
With clouds between their knees
I'm only a man in a silly red sheet
Digging for kryptonite on this one way street
Only a man in a funny red sheet :) like it ;)
Looking for special things inside of me
It's not easy to be me
The video had lyrics so stupid comment .
These guys write the most beautiful music and lyrics...............
Even heroes have the right to bleed.....
this song was played at the funeral of my friend who died of cancer in 2009. i still lose it every time i hear this song being played. rip, we miss you so much
Oh my god! This is perfect for Snyder and Cavill's existentially confounded Superman!
It completely fits with his tone.
Great tune! Thank you, Ben♥️😇🙏.
That's the spirit! THE FIVE FOR FIGHTING SPIRIT!
Superman is the best hero of all time hands down, My opinion.
Smallville season 1, at the end of episode 16 ;) my favourite song :D
Glory is fleeting... how fitting. Kudos to you.
I was sad one day and I wanted to listen to this song. My friend left me because he got sick of me and never wanted to talk to me again. well seen how superman made mistakes through that movie, this song fits it. the movie shows that with all the powers he is probably more human than all of us, including the last scene with zod.
I missed this song so much
this song is emotionally awesome!
I hate how much this song hurts and I love how much it means. Why does good music have to hurt so much
I'm more than a bird, I'm more than a plane...I'm a birdplane...
a mothafuckin BIRDPLANE
Only reason I'm here
Ha
@@jansonchave8817 same! Lmao
I'm Birdperson
Why in this world has many genius people to do the songs like that and feels that we're always inlove.
this song seems like its the soundtrack for my life....like it was written for me
Like when you try to be somebody's hero and failed miserably because I'm only a man and people don't expect you to make mistakes like they do
Going through stuff that i can't help or stop and every time i hear this song it gets a little better thank you 5 for fighting.
I love this song!!!!
Sorry about that, I am somewhat of a poet at heart. A rare thing in these troubled times. But a person must leave something of themselves to be remembered after they are gone, even if only for a short while. Thank you again.
