I actually like the chavuet lights better. My opinion.

Understandable, I just didn’t do enough venues where the room would be dark enough where they would be appreciated so I got rid of them

Just throwing it out there, I've seen recently that chauvet now has a defusing sleve available for the sticks. Which should give you the option to make them look more like the ape labs

Yea you’re right they do have those & I think it would look 100% better with them, but I don’t recommend attaching the sleeves on in public lol very awkward to do

Hey what’s up bro best of luck to you on your journey ! It always depends like when I first started I did a handful of house parties for free but if it was at an actual venue or if there was a lot of planning involved then I started out charging $200 per event and then worked my way up to $500 after about 1.5 years

I want to throw in my thoughts. You don't want to have a set price with one exception. Say you dj 3 different 4 hour events. 1 has alot more prep work. Another is just come and play music. Then the 3rd wants all kinds of lighting. You shouldn't just say one price for all three because they are 4 hour events. You have to figure all that different stuff. Now u might start with a base price then add lighting costs or prep time in on top of that. Ok the one exception... let's say the basic just setting up no thrills playing 4 hours is $500. Say someone asks for 2 hours. That's where you say up to 4 hours is $500 so u still get paid. But then if they ask, you can make yourself look better by throwing in a minimal amount of prep or lighting no extra charge because your only doing half the time.
