    Nice gig log man! I always appreciate how you talk about the things we have to deal with like clients asking for a projector to play a video last minute like we can just make it appear, or getting paid! It’s definitely something I’ve dealt with before, and have had to improvise something the way you did.

      Exactly ! It just surprises me how often it gets asked of last minute lol thanks again bro !

    always stay professional no matter what, the DJ game is small and word will get around the community if you lash out to the client, I've had this happen multiple times and only once I was never paid

    Good stuff. Thanks for sharing. I’m still in the slightly trusting mode where I haven’t been firm in getting paid first. I’m ok with getting paid afterwards in hopes that if I did good, the customer would add a tip. All it will take is for me to get burned one time and that way of thinking will go out the window.

      Exactly bro that's the point I was trying to convey as well, that I may be getting too comfortable not getting paid ahead of time & this was almost that time someone dine & dashed, luckily they pulled through though

    Contracts all the time no matter who it is. I require half deposit to secure the date at signing. Balance in full is due 3 weeks before the event. Been doin it that way for 20yrs

    Nice work brother. It’s a shame sometimes, clients don’t think that we as DJs have a living to earn. They think we just do it to pass time. I’ve actually got a current situation regarding a client who owes me around $12k still and I’m taking them to court. I’ll be doing a video on this very subject soon! Keep it pushing bro!

    What’s up DJ Kev! Great video! I am interested in buying the EVOX J8’s. What is your opinion on those speakers for small events or big events? Thank you!

    • @koproductions8266
      @koproductions8266  6 месяцев назад

      Yerrr ! What’s up brodie, the evox j8s have been my best purchase so far, I rarely do events over 100 people or big rooms so they just happen to work perfectly for my type of events, the best perks are the sound quality for the price & the way the tops fit into the sub for easy travel

    I got stiffed $1200 in May for a gig I did for another DJ. It's October and he still says he is gonna pay me. That's why I now do a "Pay before play" policy.

  • @dapro8827

    Yep back in highschool when I would DJ had something similar happen, the customer didn't want to pay me because no one showed up to his party literally like 5 people showed up. He was upset but I told him I did the job I was here. He wanted to pay next day because he had no changeI told him no I need the $ now, so he ended up giving me an extra $50 and packed up almost 2 hours early!! Keep up the good work!

    Business is business. Got to get that full payout before you get to the venue. It takes away the anxiety of whether you get paid or not. A CRM (Check Cherry, Honey Book, etc.) will do all the work for you and send reminders to the client when payment is due.

      It seems that eventually my luck will run out & I may have a bad client one of these days with my current methods of payment lol but I’ll absolutely have to look into a CRM to help ensure payments are made, thanks for the info Brodie !
