Jeven Dovey dude you’re Johnny on the Spot responding to my comment in 4 minutes to your 1-year old video. You got me with the trail running clips. I’ve been looking for a slider for a year that’s simple and compact enough to take on a run or hike. I just ordered their second one. 20% off right now so it was $319 shipped. Wish I could have used a code or something from you to give you a commission.
Hi crowly productions, we will ship the slider in October according to the order number. SliderMini weighs only 1.26lb (0.569kg), the whole package weighs about 1.5kg. If you have any question about the product or the shipping you can contact us via support@ismartta.com. Thank you for your support!
Awesome! I actually was just playing around with this and my Genie Mini. I was using the Mini as a turntable spinning food while using the Smartta to dolly across the spinning plate. You can come up with some really unique shots by adding the Smartta!
Looks great and almost pulled the trigger on the IndieGoGo, but was watching their videos on their IndieGoGo page and it seems like there’s a little stuttering during the slide?
I actually noticed the same thing in their hero video (0:44-0:45) on their Indiegogo page, but I think it could be because of the position of the camera. It was hung that way that the weight distribution was so imbalanced, and hence the stutter.
@@JevenDovey Indeed I can see stuttering in your footage. Not bad for such a tiny device, but still there. And tbh I'm used to professional gear from Arri, Panther and other cine brands. What I really don't like is the integrated battery. It'll die in a few years and then you can throw the whole thing away. :(
Great Video Jeven!! Looks like an early holiday present for me. Thanks. If you don't mind sharing. Could you send me or post the pinpoint to the trail head for this session. One for the 100K subscribers hike in the Santa Monica Mountains would be great as well. BTW. The Barcelona trip was so much better thanks to you and Rachel. Cheers!
Hi David, If you placed an order, please send your order number and camera model to support@ismartta.com, we will send you a cable for your camera, no extra charge needed. Thank you.
Way to go Smartta - if you guys only came last year, before I forked out €900 for the Edelkrone's SliderOne Pro :-). OK, there were accessories included but the slider itself + the motor (then sold separately) were some €600 plus shipping. Very good video btw, I'm a new subscriber, like your style Jeven.
PLEASE PEOPLE: I KNOW JEVEN DOESNT MEAN HARM. But DO Not, I repeat Do Not buy stuff on IndieGOGO. I have purchased THOUSAND of dollars in THOSE Campaigns, And I Have Yet To receive my orders. YOU CONTACT the companies and they dont respond, you Twitter , email, Facebook them etc and they just ignored you. Im just trying to save you guys a HEADACHE and Your MONEY. That's just my 2 cents. I know that some people get good luck in those IndieGogo campaigns, but the majority dont. They dont allow you to see the comments before you buy items. Great review Jeven as always!!!
I can't speak on these other sliders but with the Smartta its very easy to use. The one button control is what allowed me to get these shots quick while I was out running.
Jeven, where is this place in LA? I’ve lived in LA my whole life and I’ve never seen it. Cool place to shot. Also, this slider looks great, not sure if it’s out yet to buy? Thanks for all your awesome videos, maybe I’ll run into you one day in LA. :)
I’m very impressed with that but have you had to edit the footage to stop any stuttering? I’ve got the Movie Maker 2 slider at the moment which is great for travel but this looks better
Jeven Dovey that’s brilliant, as you know I’ve ordered one so I can’t wait to try it. Love your videos, I’m not a professional just love doing videos as a hobby and learning loads from you.
Which table top tripod do you recommend for this? I’d like to mount my 1DX2 and am worried about the weight tipping it over when the camera is on the extreme edge. Great review, thanks!
Great Slider but I asked them to include a Macro Photography in the APP. This way they will increase the sales because there is a lot of the Macro Photography Community that would be interested in that Slider. The Slider has All what you need for Macros just needs to be Set in the APP.
No it can’t loop. I’m gonna reach out to see if they plan on adding this with an update. Also a connected panning module would be a huge addition for interviews
Ordered! They can also add a easy ease mode. Easily doable through software upgrades or else they can make their SDKs available so that we can do the creative magic :) Great review.
Yes it has no problem with weight. You can add the genie mini head. Just gotta figure out the timing of using both together to get nice shots. Maybe Smartta will release a pan head in the future that works with the slider
I have a Slider Mini and every now and then (mostly at faster speeds), the smoothness isn't that great. It's almost like it slows down or gets stuck for split second. Have you come across this?
This is awesome. Do you have any idea what price point they're going after? I love how portable this is, but if it's going to be nearly as expensive as a gvm or a&j slider the range those ones give you is definitely more worth it.
Still a sweet little slider. Thanks for the response, man. Love your travel videos and reviews. You're the reason I got into selling stock footage. Jeven Dovey
Jeven Dovey What about motor noise, is it loud? GVM can pan it, new version has updated motor which is quite silent, but it is 32”. Way too long to be portable. :(
I've never used an electric slider, and I'd really love to have one for Real Estate Videos, Product shots, Corporate videos, and interview looping. But it seems like having a 6-8 inch slider makes it hard to get some solid movement. It's kind of like you have to have something in the foreground to reference more movement. Some of the slider shots you showed were awesome, but some were kind of pointless due to the minimal amount of movement and no reference point in the foreground. What is the fastest that this slider can move from one side to the other?
Hello, the max.speed of SliderMini is 2cm/s, so it takes 20 seconds to get from one side to another side at the max speed. Please feel free to reach us via support@ismartta.com if you have any other questions. Thank you.
@Javen Dovey Is there a way to set it up to continuously (or the set number of times) loop from one side to another? Does it have ease in and out when it's getting to the end points? Looks interesting for a mobile setup. Thx.
The answer to both of your questions is "not yet". I had the same thoughts as you, and when I contacted them about it they told me they were adding them to the list of features they'll be implementing in a future app/firmware update. :)
Agreed. You miss out on actually moving the lens around objects. Panning in a frame doesn't give you dynamic footage. You actually have to physically move the camera.
Hi Jacobo, Loop Mode has been added, you can check here: www.indiegogo.com/projects/slidermini-ultra-portable-smooth-camera-slider/x/19122417#/updates/all Thank you.
Hi Jeven, we already added a Loop Mode for SliderMini, please reinstall the Smartta Go app (If you are using an Android phone, please let me know we can send you the newest APK file. The official version will be soon published on Play Store this week.) and upgrade the firmware to try all the new features. Thank you.
The plot thickens: They are now listed in Chengdu, China. This is a red flag for me (no pun intended). I generally have no reason to distrust Kickstarter or IndieGoGo, as I have backed several projects which were duly delivered. But this one has me a tad skeptical...
Hi Ed, we understand why you worry. Smart View International Limited is a company registered in Cayman Islands, with the team located in China. SliderMini is manufactured in China, and it will be shipped from China. This is our first crowdfunding campaign, the address on the page was originally based on the company's registration place, it was later revised according to Indiegogo's suggestion. We have listed this info on our campaign page, FAQ General part. Thank you.
Thank you but I think I'll wait until we can buy one online from a trustworthy stockist, I don't care if I pay the full asking price ....if it doesn't turn up then I'll get refunded
Their second model is all over my Instagram ads. Pretty tempted since you liked this one.
They’re sending me the 2nd one so I’ll do another review. Loved the first one. So simple and easy to use

Nice video have ordered one as I love sliders and rarely use my large slider as it take so much space and time to set up. Great video dude.
Thanks for the video... I just ordered mine... I got the last one at the $199 price... Looking forward to using this...
Awesome! Let me know how you like it once it arrives!
I just ordered mine too for 236 dollars... I don't really understand when they will send it! Do you know the weigh of this piece of technology?
Hi crowly productions, we will ship the slider in October according to the order number. SliderMini weighs only 1.26lb (0.569kg), the whole package weighs about 1.5kg. If you have any question about the product or the shipping you can contact us via support@ismartta.com. Thank you for your support!
I think this will be perfect for my stock footage! Ordered!
Agreed! You can add some cool movements into shots and instantly they look more dynamic!
Very cool looking effect, and easy to set-up and use.
Super easy to setup! Thats my favorite part about it
Good info, thanks. Also, I mentioned in the 5 axes that the $89 one that I purchased really worked well. Hope you got that comment.
Awesome
I'll get one when it's made to Amazon. I have a feeling some company in China will come up with a clone really soon and sell them for $99 a pop.
Easy to carry, nice design, nice review Jeven.
Yeah I never use sliders when I travel but this one I'd consider taking along. The design makes it super user friendly
Looks great. Something I have been looking for a while. Thanks for the review!
Backer #14. Should work well with a Genie Mini to add extra production value 👍🏻
Thank you so much for your support!

That hike is Paseo Miramar. The full trail starts at Los Liones. Both are off sunset. Are you in Santa Monica?
No. We live in OC. But my wife and I are always looking for new places to hike locally. The closer to the beach the better. Thanks!
I want this sooooo much.
Thank you Jeven. Great Review!
Any plans to make cable releases for Nikon? Thanks.

Thanks! Its an awesome slider

Don't worry, SliderMini's mass production is underway. Estimated shipping time: this October.

I just checked on them and found they've bad reputation. The link is above or bellow.
There's some irony. RUclips just told me scamadviser was a potentially harmful site. :)
@@JohnAldred what do you mean?
Superb motorised slider super
It works really well!
This looks way better than gimbles to me; the footage goes from zero to hero and it is a perfect size to carry all the time.
Gimbals are good for some shots and sliders are better for other shots. This is small enough that I can keep both on me
STILL waiting for this item to actually be released. any word?
these shots look awesome. Is there a cheaper alternative?
Yes, Grip Gear!
Agree. What I like about this one is the simplicity of it. Less moving parts.
Check out Rat Rig V-Slider Mini

It’s right out of Brentwood. Awesome trail to explore. Check out Murphy ranch hike.
Jeven Dovey awesome thanks, can you possibly get any drones shots as well or just ground?
I’m very impressed with that but have you had to edit the footage to stop any stuttering? I’ve got the Movie Maker 2 slider at the moment which is great for travel but this looks better
No all the footage is from the slider. I didn't do any post stabilization

i love this channel 👍🏼
Thank You!!!
Awesome
Yeah!
Dose any company make a smaller one more compact for travel
is it possible to put leave the slider moving the camera left to right and viceversa until battery dies? for youtube lives. thanks
thank you for your video! would to know what's the brand of micro-tripod you used here with slider, thank you!
You should link the mini tripod you put the slider on when it was on the ground. I'd like to pick one up.
search for ulanzi tripod, those are awesome
Which table top tripod do you recommend for this? I’d like to mount my 1DX2 and am worried about the weight tipping it over when the camera is on the extreme edge. Great review, thanks!

Wow like this it would really add to the footage thanks for posting it stay safe
It does add a nice touch of movement to otherwise boring shots
Awesome review! I just see this thing on cinema5D. Can I loop the motion with this slider? For example when I make some interview. Thanks!
No it can’t loop. I’m gonna reach out to see if they plan on adding this with an update. Also a connected panning module would be a huge addition for interviews

bravo!

Hi, cool product!
Would be great if you could pan and / or tilt as well
Maybe on Version 2. I think panning would add so much value
Love how compact it is but for half the price I got the Grip Gear 2. It's not as easy to pack but does s whole lot more.
Interesting. I haven't tried that one
Wanting to pair this with a ball head and genie mini panning head. Would this work with that with the additional weight?
Trent Cleland , their page says it will work with 33lbs. Horizontally
Yes it has no problem with weight. You can add the genie mini head. Just gotta figure out the timing of using both together to get nice shots. Maybe Smartta will release a pan head in the future that works with the slider
$400! Bruh...
HI, will the slider go on continuous mode and slide back and forth without stopping at the edge? Thanks for the video.
I have a Slider Mini and every now and then (mostly at faster speeds), the smoothness isn't that great. It's almost like it slows down or gets stuck for split second. Have you come across this?
How robust is it tho - I have seen a review where someone dropped one from not a great height and it stopped working.
I love this channel 💪🏾💪🏾

Still a sweet little slider. Thanks for the response, man. Love your travel videos and reviews. You're the reason I got into selling stock footage. Jeven Dovey
Do you wish they came up with a longer version, like 14"?
That would be awesome! Also make it a 2 axis slider so it pans and moves
Jeven Dovey What about motor noise, is it loud?
GVM can pan it, new version has updated motor which is quite silent, but it is 32”. Way too long to be portable. :(
Oh well I’ll take the risk! Ordered thanks! Backer number #101

can you use this as a normal slider?
How do I know if it is compatible with my Olympus Omd 5 MII?
Does it do a loop now?

Hey bud, will that little thing also go left and right continuously if I want to also use it as an interview b cam?
They already added a Lopp Mode!
Can you not make it use faster??
Sorry didn't watch the whole thing
No worries! it's all controlled in the app
I do same thing with cropping 4K to 2K, no need an extra device.
Agreed. You miss out on actually moving the lens around objects. Panning in a frame doesn't give you dynamic footage. You actually have to physically move the camera.
You got a point. I mean not always it works. Sure you need a one to shoot slider move definitely.
