In terms of your infantry units, the answer is your city skin. The negative 10% infantry health goes a long way however the 5% skill damage inflicts, in your words, “gang buster” amounts of damage to the enemy. Least that’s what I think happen with your infantry fill ups.
I think it’s because of health stats… T4 have lower health and siege units have the lowest. So based on that I’d say it really depends on your health stats
when fighting with mixed troops, skill damage received is not split up proportionally but focuses on one troop type at a time. i have heard people say it's the one with the lowest base defense. so when only t5 was left for you, all white damage got split up proportionally but the big skill damage nukes wiped out your infantry first, cavs second.

Wick did an analysis on which units die the quickest in mixed marches for Trajan aeth. It turns out that the unit that is countered by your special unit type tends to die much quicker. Yours it Byz so your inf die quicker
i hope lillith shows more details about the dead count in our stats because as in you're reports some players killed 200k+ t1 unites and it'll increase their dead count and they'll be bragging about it because u can't tell the difference between t5-t1 death units

That was EPIC. Man this may sound weird to some people but I absolutely LOVE defending against rallies against my city...its the most dangerous and thrilling scenario of all for me! We didn't win our KvK but I ended up killing around 5M troops by tanking rallies against my city alone. XD

probably it is determined by who is attacking your city, if it is cav rally, then inf will most likely to die less than others.

Chis the first 50k go to the Siege special hospital! So if you adjust the math then 13k siege probably makes sense

Correct. You cannot heal while your city is in combat. You can speed up an already started heal but you cannot initiate a new heal

I mean, for one your infantry health bonus is shitty compared to the other troop types. That must add up a lot.
Chisgule, your infantry stats in the garrison where worse, your cav has better that's, maybe that has something to do with it.
I think pass 4 opening is the best time to get rallied.
