You can add ice to the bucket to really cool off with the mist. If you sit there too long you definitely will get wet. Great product for the hot outdoors. I bought one for a family reunion in the park.
The lid does close with the 6ah battery! I would recommend buying the rapid charger from Ryobi if you are gonna use this alot. The charger that comes with it takes up to 2 hours to charge the rapid charger only takes 30 minutes.
Look folks. This thins is garbage in my opinion. Way to little fan with two misters. If you do not mind sitting close and getting wet with just one person then buy it. If you want to cool a area with friends or family then pass this buy. No brains needed here...small little fan on a bucket with two misters is a single person use unit. If you want to cool down something like a patio you needs a full system with the misters 2 feet apart. No fan needed but you will need a high pressure pump to get the job done. The units that only use water pressure from your house work but are a lot less effective. All misters will need the mister units cleaned often. This is good to know! I was going to get the same size battery but now I know the 6 will be better and now I'll go get the Ryobi fast charger!

Tried 3 of these and each time the hose adapter piece stops working. Had one DOA. something none of these tester are "TESTING" it's sort of a POS.
John, what if you dumped a lot of ice in the bucket and then cover it with water? How cold would you get? (Asking for a friend :) )
I have 3 of them and yeah it does work better with ice. It just depends on the outside temperature.
