Wow, it's been a long time since I saw a aftermarket accessories shop do such a great job. Man in live in Seaside Oregon, so not to far, but I didn't see any F150 V8 Raptors there, lol. But I do like all the goodys in my truck. It's so important to really look closely at everything and worth the extra time to get it done the best as possible.
@@VortexRadar yes, aesthetically, nothing beats a remote, but the ease ( Escorts mag mount) of taking a unit down after use makes the aesthetics less important anymore. I also get a great sense of security knowing I have a unit in front of me and that it’s on and operable. The new units such as Redline 360 or Max with mag mounts are very easy to take down. There’s something to be said for a clean remote install too, but the large majority of users go with WS mounts. The Escort remotes the past decade have been very disappointing comparatively. The Stir-O is the high water mark.
I agree totally that most people prefer a WS mount. I’m in that camp too. However personal preferences vary which is why there’s still a place for a remote RD.
Clean and thorough as always. There's got to be a better place to mount an iPhone wireless charger than the windshield. We often drive sports cars with much less glass area to see out of than a huge SUV. You'd probably mount that iPhone in a different place in your old Miata.
I wish you would do a review on some of the older detectors valentine v1, escort solo 2, passport 7500,8500 and how they compare detection wise to the newer stuff. I notice the above detectors sell for about $200 used on eBay so some people are strongly supporting the older detectors.
Given that radar hasn’t changed since discovery just before WW2, many older detectors still do fine. I’d put a remote mount StirO against any of the new ones on 34.7 and 33.8. It may not do quite as well, but it would still be a save. Probably the best of the older detectors is RX65 S7 ( not M4) . On USA mode, it’ll hang with the best of the oldies . Let’s not forget the Original Redline with BSRDR. That unit is now a decade old and but for K band falsing , still detects everything you need.
Me too. It’s why I bought a bunch of ancient detectors like a year ago. There’s SO much to cover and so little time to do it (testing and video creation are both very time consuming) that I don’t know if I’ll realistically ever get to it. Range is easy enough to test, but it’s really filtering and everything else that matters most. I’m not interested in testing only range. I want to look at the whole package.
@@VortexRadar that’s the problem with old units, poor filtering. Range on some old units, while not at Uniden standards, is still good enough for a save since radar units have not fundamentally changed in 70 years. The M3 based units are still more than enough if you can turn K off.

Looks like they do nice work but my experience with them is that they are super expensive. Had Car-Toys do an audio upgrade for me and it was around half the cost for the same spec.
Very clean install. On a side note...I have the 360c with M1 dash cam. To be honest I'm not impressed with the 360c, I had a 360 and it worked very well. What would you recommend in the Escort line of detectors as a replacement for the 360c?
Any squeaks with the new installs? I’m always gun shy to have installers take apart dashes, headliners, etc., but like having the toys at the same time. I’m that tough customer to please lol.
I'm desperately trying to find some GOOD place in California/Bay Area to install dashcam, batteries, and "laser parking sensors" to my Audi Q5. I don't like reviews online for what I've found so far. I was wondering maybe somebody had a good experience and could recommend the similar setup?
haha yeah my setup isn’t really a normal setup. It’s a bunch of different equipment to make it easy for me to do comparison testing and make RUclips videos. :)
I wanted to with the new S8 system. That didn’t arrive and my current VIP had been problematic so because of that, and out of the interest of saving time, I opted against it.
Legend says, even he does not know how fast he is going.

Theia would be almost a year old now if it weren't still a mythical legend
A year old from what?
NIIICCEEE! I'm just waiting on THEIA. I already have my ALP and I'm going to put do a sunglass mount for a Uniden VHF radio in my Tacoma.
How long are you prepared to wait? What are you going to use in the mean time?
What is a VHF Uniden for?
The windshield mounts , Uniden/V1/Redline have all gotten so good, there’s no need for a remote RD anymore.
You mean in terms of performance alone I presume? If you don’t care about aesthetics, sure.

Thanks Vortex ! TMG engineers claim the color fade is car wash soap.
Good to know, thank you!

My phone is mounted right above the airconditioning controls in my miata
An important thing to point out to anyone want a radar/dash cam. Please purchase your equipment from the business you are going with.

Very nice and clean 👌
Do you have a video about what the best radar detectors and radar jamming systems you’d recommend are?
www.vortexradar.com/best-radar-detectors/

Looks like a couple grand easy on modifications.
Dude, you are amazing.
damn, these guys are good. BTW, when are you planning of selling your bat mobile. hahaha.
haha I’ve got so much invested into it, I don’t think it makes sense to sell it 😄
Hey Vortex, I was wondering what suction cup was used for your Magsafe mount. Would like to buy something similar to your custom made setup
"or theia whenever that comes out"
Huehuehue

Watched and liked, very nice!
You should buy dummy cigarette plugs to protect the outlet from dust, crums and liquids.
Not a bad idea :)
Please make a video how to install it thanks

This may be a silly question, but what's the reason for having those extra 5 battery packs? Is the car's battery not enough for the dashcams?
More record time and when running a bunch of dashcams normally, plus additional just for testing.
@@VortexRadar got it, thanks for the quick reply :)

What is the mount that you are using behind the MMI for the L/R screens?
That is a custom built mount that Musicar made. ruclips.net/video/IVUVmDXU6FU/видео.html
How much did that cost you?? More than the suv lol 😂 with all that custom work. Or was it free or discounted?
It was free. We did it in exchange for the video. I put the disclaimer explaining it in the video description. :)
@@VortexRadar nice! 👍 Sounds good.
How hot does the battery box get?
Do you have any plans for installing Stinger Laser Fibers?

@@VortexRadar Thank you. Would you mind to share what problems you had with the laser fibers?
The laser fibers are fine. I meant I had problems with the VIP radar detector and so I don't want to use that to interface with my fibers.
🤘😎🤙
going to be a sad day for your wallet when you finally part with that car
There's something comical about having a shop install a phone charger mount.
I thought jammers were illegal?
shhhh
Depends where you live and what you call them. Laser Parking Sensors aren't illegal anywhere I know of.
Radar jammers however are illegal everywhere.
What happens first - the release of Theia or the colonization of Mars? I’m betting on Elon Musk. 😆
the thought of putting any amount of money on Musk sounds gross
