One thing (of many things) that I love about Madonna is that she was racially inclusive and a supporter of LGBT in a time when it was socially frowned upon in the entertainment industry. Most of the TV and films portrayed gay people as "off" or "not right" in the 80s and 90s. And the majority of films and shows back then had no diversity at all. She had no qualms about being herself and working with who she wanted to work with. Despite the way it made others feel about her. It made a difference to me as a youngster seeing someone so iconic saying, "It's okay to be who you are." when so many others were saying that it's not okay.

I want to see a movie about her life when she first came to NYC and started hanging with the premier artists of the day, Andy Warhol etc. She was very involved in that scene from what I read. It sounds facinating.

Hell, 90% of said clips are still on the youtube account you just posted your comment from 😄 Your clips are tagged to death and yet I still credited you in the above description, as well as at the start of the video itself. All the clips in the above video are just what I gathered online like hundreds of fans did. I just edited those clips together. Blame yourself for posting them in the first place. We hereby acknowledge that the following conditions regarding the resulting videotape are material to this agreement. Said videotape shall not be duplicated or reproduced in any manner whatsoever".
So it seems that, whether you are Mr. Watanabe, or the club's ex-owner, or Madonna's grandma's goat, you had absolutely no right to digitize the videotape, and to post all those clips online 15 years ago, and even less right to do so in order to sell said videotape.
So go bark at someone else, you nutbag and stop your spamming and defamation.

Also, I'd like to add as her vocals here at that time were indeed higher as she was very young as most singers do mature as they grow old. My point is some commenter on other video insists that her studio vocals were pitched higher to appear girlish as was the appeal for pop records till this day thereby proving here that indeed that's how she always sounded at that time even her normal speaking voice. Icon! Living legend! Madonna has provided the soundtrack for my life. I was a teenager in the 80's and I still listen today to the old stuff all the way to the new stuff. So I have listened to her music for most of my whole life.
She is a total fashion icon too! I loved her street style! Ahead of her time always!
She was good at paying homage to the things happening in clubs in NYC, Los Angeles and so forth. But, many people, including my friends and I in the Punk and Club scenes, dressed that way in the late 70s and early 80s. Here in the United States and Great Britain and Europe. It wasn't trendy until the mid-eighties, after she was on television, MTV, especially.
She forgetting the lyrics in Burning up was awesome lol. Even this is cool to see because we can see how she was at the begining of her sucessful career. This video is unique!

Despite the lack of audio during the last 2 minutes, this is still amazing to hear and see. She ALWAYS had it.
Raw talent , Stage presence ,and tons of "IT" quality from day one.
I enjoyed seeing this, but I must say, it lacks a bit of all of those 3 things. She swears about fucking up the words to a song she wrote and announces it mid performance. She shouts stage directions and barks at sound guys throughout performance and before some songs and does this right on the mic. And the choreography was TIRED. I believe we saw her do the Funky Chicken at one point. Thank god that wasn't the performance that she did for the head of Sire Records.

Stylish, Iconic, everything. I love early Madonna a lot, i grew up with her songs and remember girls wanted to look and dance like her, especially her hair style was very famous. Thanks for the video it brings back nice memories.
And to think in just 2 short years she would be playing to the whole world as part of Live Aid. Astonishing.
Madonna sacrificed everything to dig her way in to becoming an artist , 40 years later , still on top .
I like Madonna a lot and lived through her heyday era and she's still going strong. But watching this I started to wonder what if? What if she hadn't made it past doing club gigs in the 80's and that was her only claim to fame? What if opportunities hadn't fallen in line that would lead her to stardom? Where would she be today? What would she be doing? Seeing people before they were famous always makes me wonder these things.
I always loved Madonna her rawness especially this era is umatched. 💜

I can never stop watching her early(pre 1984) footages as they mark how a legend is made. Thanks for the upload, and always looking forward to seeing more rare clips from her early days.
No wonder why she became the queen of pop. She was nobody back then but she was already the queen inside. You can see her confidence, she was so sure of where she was going.

All these clips have surfaced online about 15 years ago, I just pieced them together and "cleaned" them all a bit. They were all posted by the owner of the tape (also the owner of the club where this performance took place), he posted them as "previews" when he was trying to sell the tape with the full show - However, it appears he never managed to sell it for the price he was asking for (which is hardly surprising - I doubt even the richest and craziest Madonna fan would spend $1M (!!!) for this).
