      I understand the overbet on the turn against capped ranges with your value hands.
      The issue with live poker is, you just fold out worse and get no value. I know that is a great thing because what that means is, your bluffs that you overbet along that same line recoup the value missed by the value hands. If an opponent overlords too much, than I can just tune up the frequency of my overbet bluffs on the turn so I don't look out of line at showdown.
      But here is where I struggle QY...
      WHAT hands do I choose to overbet bluff with? I struggle so hard with this. I paused the video during your showing here and noticed some hands overbet bluffing the turn, and I can't understand the type of characteristics those hands possess to be used as the bluff.
      On top of that, is there anyway we can look at examples of this where we aren't dealing with button vs bigblind? More like Ep vs Button call maybe.
      Button vs big blind is the least seen head to head I see at the casino. I don't understand why everyone only uses those 2 positions to explain everything.

    Great video explaining the differences in sizing down when a draw completes vs over betting when it doesn't - I've been thinking a lot about that lately on finding overbets in non-intuitive spots

    This is all fine when you play against good, solid players. It s a different tune though, when you are playing against fish, especially at the micro stakes. Playing GTO is perfect when you play against opponents who are also playing GTO, but not against fish.

      flop, or on nut changing cards(cards that give opponent plentiful nuts)

  • @Tldr999

    I thought solvers really liked bet sizing between 20-50% of the pot? I saw something where the solver bet between 20-50% of the pot at least 50% of the time, and liked overbets where they had either the nuts or a bluff. I thought that was one of your videos but maybe I’m wrong.

    • @KaizenPokerTeam
      @KaizenPokerTeam Месяц назад

      on flop they do. i think this is geared more towards the turn. basically, he's advising on non-nut shifting cards, to use bigger sizes, and on nut shifting cards, to be more moderate with sizes
      there are still situations to bet 40%ish on turns. and also times to bet 50% on flop, or even 125% on flop

    Curious about overbetting when opponents range is capped, but isn’t it possible villains range is capped, but they were trapping with aces by flatting your 3 bet pre? Or something along the lines of them trapping?

    • @WeTheMajority
      @WeTheMajority Месяц назад +6

      We just assumed that this happens it’s such a low frequency. It’s insignificant in the grand scheme and we’re gonna be making enough value over their Marginal bluff catchers which vastly outnumbered any form of sneaky value. But we realize that this is also GTO fantasy land and if we think our specific opponent is more likely to trap, we can adjust our strategy

      @@WeTheMajority thanks, I guess I need to consider that this is for making value over 1000s of hands, and 1 or 2 times they’re trapping are just part of it

    Simplifying to half pot in every single spot is a decent strategy and doesn't lose that much EV.

      That's if you understand the appropriate bet timings and sizings beforehand. This is for people that dont know the appropriate sizing/when to bet

    • @Reypstraptor4269
      @Reypstraptor4269 Месяц назад +6

      Do you want to play the easiest strategy that is decent or do you want to play a complex and great strategy? Either way, if your competition is easy and you are up against bad players there would be no reason to simplify to only using half pot when you can just use what bet sizing benefits your hand the most knowing you will not be exploited. if your competition is not easy and players are somewhat good you would not benefit from such a strategy that is clearly not the most optimal.

    • @XandoFootball
      @XandoFootball Месяц назад +6

      You're losing so much value by doing this. LOADS of chips. And you're allowing so many hands to realize equity when they shouldn't be allowed to.
      Your value hands are making the minimum and your bluffs with that sizing are folding out the minimum.
      1/2 bet pot should be the least used sizing...but I see it the most live. It's a terrible sizing on so many different boards or runout.
      You can make life a living he'll for villain with the small bet and overbet. A lot more mistakes are made from opponents against that sizing because they aren't used to it.
