Daft Punk won them their first of 3 Grammys. You are right to assume that anything you care to react to by them will amaze you. Keep the PTX coming.
Kevin's beatboxing is absolutely amazing here.
You can go either way... In the music world, it's generally "a capella group" but PTX considers themselves in competition with music at large, not just in the niche. Pentatonix refer to themselves as a band and each other as their band mates because that's what they feel is their equivalent.

Since it’s almost Christmas, I’d recommend diving into some of their EXTENSIVE Xmas catalog! My favorite is their spin on “O Come All Ye Faithful” - a song I absolutely hated until I heard their incredible version! Thanks for the reactions! Excited for more!

They don’t technically alter their voices in these videos but they do some compression and a little layering because it’s a professional video, but they do a live version with no mics and it’s pretty stupid good. Some of their live versions are actually better.

Yeah, that's Mitch's voice. And when he really lets go he can give you whiplash. Lots of "live stuff" from the Hollywood Bowl concert in September and the new Christmas tour "A Christmas Spectacular".

Pentatonix appeared throughout season 3 of _The Sing-Off,_ which means 2011. All of their performances on the show can be found on RUclips. It's fascinating to watch them in order, seeing the way they grew over the course of just three months or so. Well worth watching.

Three of the songs they used in this medley are from Daft Punk's Interstella 5555, Which is an entire Daft Punk Album used as the sound track for an anime. Celebrate, Last Night (Dream) and Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (Which was used by Kanye for a song of the same title)
I totally understand the overload, the confusion, the awe of trying to figure out how they do what they do! Scott, Mitch and Kirstie started singing together in high school, so that plus 11 years as professionals has honed their timing and blending of their voices with Avi (and later Matt) and Kevin’s bass and percussion. Yes it’s voices. There is a private video where they were asked to do this. They just started singing, with all the breaks and acoustics that you hear here. All the skips and all are hit right on.
Thus isn’t one but I nearly 2020’s you’ll see several songs where they a in blocks , like their own spaces. It is just that. They found ways to write, video, record, produce, etc all thru the pandemic. They were away from each other but we’re still able to get their portions combined. You’ll see them in their own. “ box screen”

When he says they have some good stuff what he means is that everything they do will blow your mind.
That said, this one is special. This won them their first Grammy, and the budget for it was $400, most of which went for makeup (presumably including the blue contacts and the wig), one ring light, and professional editing. The audio was recorded in one of their closets, for the good acoustics. The video was recorded at a kitchen table.
When this came out, NARAS (the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the folks who award Grammys) didn't even have a category for it. The one that came closest was Best Arrangement Instrumental, so NARAS changed that to Best Arrangement Instrumental or A Cappella, just so they could nominate Daft Punk Medley for a Grammy.
Pentatonix regularly does the impossible, or at least things that are impossible for most folks. Check out their RUclips channel and click on anything there - whatever it is, you'll love it.

There's a "private performance" video, Pentatonix performing this medley off-mic., live, in a quiet room, filmed on someone's phone. The acoustics weren't great and Kevin's beatboxing didn't sound loud enough, but other than that the sound is identical.

Yes it’s all their voices… Avi can do overtone singing and he uses it in this song. Everyone seems to miss that on every song in which he uses that…Their first song they did on the sing-off had Avi doing overtone and no one said anything about it.. Katie Perry’s Alien..check that out..

They use effects in this video. In most other songs they use less. Every recorded and live performance uses some audio processing. Equalization and compression are used by almost every artist in every performance. This does not diminish the groups great vocal technique and versatility.
You can watch them on the Sing Off to see how they grew and won. Performances #10 and #12 are my favorite, but they are all worth seeing.
PTX is generally called a group, rather than a band. They won the 3rd season of the Sing Off. Checking out their performances on the show is actually well worth your time. It would be well worth your time to consider reaction to the 13 performances in order. That would be SO much fun to watch. I love finding channels that are only just discovering my favorite group. I never get tired of riding the rabbit hole down with them. :) I'm really sorry we didn't get you see you react to 'Mary, Did You Know?'
It being December, they have an endless amount of Christmas music. Their 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy' is incredible. They got a grammy for that one as well. It's still cracks me up that an acapella group got a grammy for their performance of an instrumental piece. It if weren't PTX you wouldn't believe it.

You need to check out their cover of "Gold" by Kiiara. But make sure you check out the original first if you're not familiar with it, just so you know what they're actually able to replicate from it.

Since you enjoyed this so much, you need to react to their original song "Love Again" (official video). It's insane what Kevin (beatboxer) does on this one, and Avi's bass is crazy good ! As for their Christmas song, I suggest "Silent Night", which was recorded live in a cathedral. It's stunning. Also I know others have mentioned it, and is a must listen to, "Aha" Live from Singapore . Be prepared to be blown out of your chair. Mitch goes crazy, and Avi's bass knocks out speakers. Also, since most people ask "Where's Kevin ?" , he's there, he was putting his cello away then joined them, but the person recording the video on their phone was concentrating on Mitch. You left up the 'Like & Subscribe' text right over the video of PTX and it was distracting. I want to see the person reacting but I also want to see the video of what you're reacting to.
I have to put that up because RUclips will block my videos and won’t let them be viewable to the public unless I obscure the videos in some way. I have tried to upload this video about 8-10 times each time being blocked. Only thing that works was putting something over the video. That was recommended by the pentaholics in the comments.
Most fans said they seen the video and heard the songs a “million” times and it didn’t bother them. Sometimes I can get away with smaller watermarks and sometimes the RUclips blockers pick it up and block me anyway.
Sorry if that upsets you and I apologize. Check out my other videos they haven’t been subject to the blocks like my pentatonix videos for some reason.
