Thank you Cruise. Good information. I have Jacob down at DFW Honda, Grapevine, Texas do this if I ever feel it needs an occasional smoothing out. Call ahead. Typically can get you in that day. Thank you DFW Honda!
Hi Chris-Excellent review of the DCT Initialization process. Like you, I think it is a good idea to do this right after an oil change. Hope the weather in Texas gets better soon.
Hey cruiseman I'm new gold wing owner i have a 2023 tour dct i have always been a big fan of Michelin tires on all my bikes but when I bought my new wing in 2023 I was so disappointed to find out Michelin did not make t8res for the gold wing well I just found out as I was on revzilla looking for tires Michelin popped up on the screen for honda gold wings wow I was so excited to see this can you do a review sometime of Michelin tires for the gold wing do have or know any information that would be helpful
Sometime this yr probably summer due to health issues I’m thinking on trading n my 2 2wheels n for a GW Trike I hav concerns on DCT as I’ve only hav bn on Manual for 50yrs now Which due U Suggest I ride bk rds & mountain rds ??
@@ghostpepperrides4805 2024, Tour I believe simply is the trunk version and commonly assumed to be Manual shift unless Tour DCT is stated. I’m not positive about that but absolutely love the bike.
🌿 YOU ARE A GOLD WING MAN ♂️ IN YOUR OPINION WHAT MODEL WAS THE BEST ❓ THINKING ABOUT PURCHASING AN OLD WING FOR GOOFING OFF PURPOSES AND MY BACK 🤔 LOVE FROM MISSISSIPPI USA 🇺🇲
If you buy a old wing, buy a 2005 and up...the 2001 to mid 2004 models will always be suspect for frame cracks in the rear triangle of the frame down by left passanger floorboard...Honda quietly redesigned the problem area of the frame in mid 2004...2005 and above gets you out of the frame issues the early GL1800 have...so unless Honda replaced the 2001 to mid 2004 models frame with the redesigned frame..and Honda did replace many frames, its best to stay away from those 01 to mid 04 models.
@frankward8003 Thank you very much just waiting to find one close enough low mileage in a great price 🤔 found a great bargain in Massachusetts wrong time of the year to ride a bike back from there 💡

That's great to know.
Great Information! I have yet to need to do this but I'm sure my day is coming.
Hopefully you won't need to use it anytime soon!
I never tried that. Just changed oil, sounds like a good idea to do now!
Your bike looks so good.
Try it
Great informational video. Thanks for the PDF file and battery info. Both are now in the bike, just in case.

I appreciate you watching!
I do this every time I chang my oil. Be safe
@@kidi8124lunch Me too
NOT NECESSARY! YOUR ARE ONLY GIVING YOURSELF A PLACEBO!
Mine is at the dealer for the USB bolt recall and air filter change, so that would be a good time to re-initialize the DCT.
It's a good idea to reinitialize it after any significant work.
Great bit of info there. Thank you.
Is this the same procedure for ALL years from 2018 onwards. Thanks for the info. May give it a go when the weather warms up. 👍🏻
Yes, it is
@@cruisemansgarage Excellent. Thanks again. 👍🏻

A lot of trike owners are going DCT. Back roads and mountain roads are no challenge for the DCT. 50% of Africa Twins sold are now DCT.
Too advanced for me, I went with the Tour model. I was intrigued with the DCT but hesitant. As long as it is a Wing it is all good.
What year GW? Did you mean non-tour so you got a Manual shift?

I think you made the right choice.
Glad that I prefer the DCT.
