I love Zoids kits. They are so much fun to build. My last was the Iron Kong.. What a beast. This looks like another winner. So much detail for us painters as well.
Yeah, the painter part of my brain was firing on all cylinders while I was building this, now I just have to find the time. I'm thinking one in OER colors and the other in a desert color scheme to match my Death Stinger.
The engineering and posability of these kits is fabulous, i know they don't walk as their 'Tomy' counterparts but it's very clever how these HMM kits fit together. I think I may be turning my 'Guysack' into a Scorpozoid as I've painted my HMM Godos as a Trooperzoid. 👍✌️
@@spacehamsterZH I liked that 'Zillon' you did a good while ago, it's a shame in some ways that these kits need painting but the metallic parts in particular look absolutely awful unpainted, at least with the price of quality paint nowadays these small kits don't require litres of paint. I've got a 'Death Stinger' and a 'Liger Zero' here, if I live to be 120 years old I may have time to paint and assemble them! 😂
@@grahamsmith2022 prioritize the Death Stinger I'd say. It's still one of the best looking HMMs ever made, at least for my money. The Liger Zero's a bit disappointing - looks weird and spindly, and the rear legs don't pose properly.
@@spacehamsterZH I'll take your advice, I'll say this about the HMM Guysack, it's at least in a realistic 'desert' type colour scheme unlike the Tomy windup which is in a real nasty shade of brown. I love the blue/red colour of the original 'Deathstinger' although from a military perspective it's probably a bit garish!😂, I think the '40 year anniversary' Liger Zero is the best, the proportions are right, very cool indeed. 👍👌
It's pretty good.. it's nice having the anime color details. but I feel like the proportions could have been better. I get why the legs had to be made less spindly, since they're going to be jointed and need to hold up the body, but if they were going to basically make the entire thing bigger, they could have made the body bigger too, and the claws ... more bigger. and the tail a little bit too.
Welp, the proportion changes work for me - looking at the windup version now it looks like the legs can barely support it. But it definitely looks pretty different because they only jacked up the size of the legs, no doubt about that.
Well, there was the Ex-Gurantula in the Rebirth Century line, which is really based on the exact same frame as the Guysack, but yeah, the Guysack itself never really got the love it deserved. I also remember pretty specifically a lot of people didn't like it back in the day.
Yeah, the bigger legs are a massive improvement overall because they make the torso appears smaller. It's funny, I always loved the windup, but seeing this now, I actually feel like that did need to be fixed and I just never realized it.
@@spacehamsterZH other than the Liger Zero CAS’s I have pretty much all the HMM’s I want. Only three left on my list: Geno Saurer, Dark horn and Godos.
It's beautiful, Tomy's Guysack was my first Zoid and model kit, this new version is a worthy tribute to the classic
Aw hell yeah
My sentiments exactly.
Coming from personal experience, if someone asks to show you his Guysack and wants you to follow him to the locker room, don't do it!
...unless you're into that sort of thing. Nyuk nyuk.

Painting HMMs in OER colors is always the correct way to go!

This was a great zoid. I kinda wish it got an upgraded form later in the series.

the disproportional oversized back of the windup always bothered me. this makes my soul rest at ease.

Easy kit. Took me just over 2-1/2 hours.
Now waiting for the beast that is Salamander. But I’ve built the ORGE; I’m ready for anything.
Have you seen the protoype pics of the Salamander? It looks absolutely fantastic. Can't wait.
@@spacehamsterZH We won’t be seeing it until late 2026 though.
@@fatefinger oh, I'm not running out of kits to build anytime soon, haha.
