This was one of the best sagas on Rob's Channel. Trying to screw over someone In the same business and wrote, maybe not the book, but definitely a couple of chapters and the forward to the book, on renting exotics while dealing with shady people, you have to be incredibly stupid to think you can get away with that garbage. Rob isn't the typical guy you can scam. And he put them on blast too.
Insurance company: "So you're telling me you were just driving along and the car happened to catch fire, all on it's own? I find that very hard to believe." Customer: "I was driving a Lamborghini." Insurance Company: "No further questions. Here's your check."
Body/fiberglass shop pulled almost this exact scam on a friend of mine's boat ("already fixed it"). We'd both been using this marina/service for years so it was quite a shock and pretty much ended the trust.
I remember Rob talking about this on his channel a while back. Tough to hear and sobering, but, an honest ownership experience. Between that, Hoovie's 12C transmission issues, and the many software/computer issues I've heard of many McLarens, kinda put me off wanting one. Maybe it's gotten better since then, and I know all exotics have their super-expensive issues, but honestly, major 6-figure issues from normal operation kinda ruins it.
I'm glad to see Mr. Brian C Nelson mentioned here, my spouse recommended him to Me after investing $4000 and he has really helped us financially in times of COVID -19 lockdown here in Australia 🇦🇺.
Rob has written the book for Exotic Rentals at this point, lmfao such clowns If you aim for the king, you best take him out in 1 swing otherwise you dead

Omg I had this happen to me not with a car rental but with my small business and it was exactly this he tried to give me a estimate 5 times the cost and force me to turn what ended up costing me 150 to fix the damage when when I wouldn't turn it into insurance and said I'd fix it myself he got passed when I said fine but my licensed repair man would be doing the estimate he folded and let my guy just fix it
Must be nice to have more money buying two of those multi million dollar cars than 70 percent of the people in the USA will ever make in their entire lives.
It depends what you're wanting to get out of it. From a purely financial standpoint though: Do you want to throw money away or build equity that you can resell later.
This bull market is a few months off bursting completely, so atm definitely hire. In general its whether you are better able to tax deduct the costs of depreciation or hire that would make the big difference - again thats generally hire/lease.

Rental car companies behaving like healthcare? What's this world come to? Lol Next thing you know, they'll let you just get a car, then tell you they'll bill you later, no pricing estimates, no Max charge, multiple bills in the mail months later for whatever they can think of...
If the guy was in it to screw people and milk the insurance agencies for money, then it explains why he didn't have standard protective equipment on all the cars. I would like to think a smart exotic rental company would at least protect their investments with clear bra's/wraps and maybe put some curb rash guard on the wheels of that technology is out there. I see where's get wrapped and dipped. I'm sure someone out there is doing it for high dollar cars. I'm not in the exotic rental game and never will be, but it seems like there are simple and cheap ways to protect a car from multiple unknown drivers. Normal wear and tear from the road is different than a customer just beating on a car trying to destroy it. I know there are a ton of shady people out there, but it's very shady/petty to attack your customer base like that. I'm glad Rob was able to play hard ball back and Gove the shady guy a migrane. The guy is incredibly stupid, by the way. Trying to screw over Rob is like trying to sell drugs to a cop knowing the guys a cop. Rob is incredibly vocal and throws every example of someone being shady and trying to screw him up on his channel. There is a good bet that enough people watch Rob's channel and will spread word that the shady guy is to be avoided those who don't. The guy clearly knew who Rob was and his vocal reputation and still tried to screw him. Just goes to show you, not even duct tape can fix stupid.

He sounds like a crook to me, how many people would buy an hi dollar car if they knew he was using it as rental car I wouldn't! Trying to get top dollar at same time!
I wouldn’t of paid any of it. Rock chips and naturally occurring unavoidable damage from regular use is to be expected and to rent out a vehicle and not have that covered in cost of rental etc is just bad business imo. Curbed wheels I can understand paying for thats totally avoidable especially with drivers who own same kind of cars and know better.
That's why I don't rent exotics. They make all their money on repairs, not the rental. I know the companies never fix these damages anyway. I know because I've seen these damages never being fixed.
Important insurance difference: if you hit an object in the road it is collision. If the object is airborne it is comprehensive. That is why rock chips are covered that way. I learned this when a tire shredded a lane over and hit my car while airborne. So if you ever do hit something make sure and classify it as airborne if you can.
Insurance did ask me if I can prove the object was airborne. I said yes there are tire marks on my hood. At that point she let me know that made it comprehensive and my rates didn’t go up
@@MarcRebilletClips on my policy it did not increase. I can guarantee every insurance is this way, but it will always be better than a collision claim. Collision is your fault so they always will make a big increase.
I get that they're rental super cars, but you're still a rich d bag if you're going out damaging wheels, windshields, and paint and then just tossing money around to make things right.
You can't control rock chips. You are driving in a dessert. Curving the wheels is just an honest mistake that happens. No one is going out of their way to purposely damage a car
How does that make him a d bag? They curbed two wheels, a rock chip in the windscreen and rock chips on the front across nine rental cars and paid for it. Sounds like a stand up guy to me. They didn't do the damage deliberately.

Real rookie move
What’s this book called and where can I get it?
I feel for the people buying the cars because he not saying he using a rentals and still trying to get top dollar as brand new cars!
You gotta love Lamborghinis: "'We're just driving down the road and the thing catches fire."
Insurance company: "So you're telling me you were just driving along and the car happened to catch fire, all on it's own? I find that very hard to believe."
Customer: "I was driving a Lamborghini."

I loved his proper use of, "Yadda, Yadda, Yadda". Too many times people say it but don't skip to the end.
More Spaghetti please
Shoney's has a decent spaghetti and the best breakfast buffet. I think it might only be in the east and southeast
Mom's spaghetti
That was some birthday party!
I've always wondered if exotic rental companies make more money from car rent or insurance claims. Most appear to be in the claims business.
that rental company has a good rating. hope owner learned his lesson
I want to see the face of the guy who tried and of course failed to scam 100k from the BIG Daddy Rob...
