      I would like your team to help me out i struggle speaking correct and nice pronunciation quickly. I know many vocabularies and respect gramatical rules as well but i don't have high command( speaking faster), I sometimes forget some vocabularies that i already know, and this does not happen to me beacause i am frustrated or nerveous. No, it just happens to me like that. So I want you to help me overcome and get rid of this challenge. Thank you

    Thank you so much dear beautiful teachers. You completely corrected me i had a very terrible mistake of using those reductions in written English which typically not academic and sound informal. This video helped me a lot. Be blessed

      Thanks so much for your comment Joel. We're glad you enjoyed the lesson. Yes, I would always correct essays with learners using reductions so it's important to know when to use them. Of course, it's okay if you're sending an SMS, but definitely avoid them in any work or academic setting. Have a wonderful day! 😃

    • @InteractiveEng
      @InteractiveEng  6 лет назад

      Thanks for your comment. Glad you enjoyed the lesson. And that's a great question. Yes, you can use reductions in formal conversations. Reductions are more associated with fluency instead of formality. As long as you're using them correctly, you could speak using reductions in academic or work presentations, as well as other formal situations. 😃

    • @InteractiveEng
      @InteractiveEng  6 лет назад

      Hi Junior. As always, thanks for your comment. And that's a great question. When someone says "might as well" it means a suggestion that one is not very excited about. For example, "You might as well do the extra word." In this case it's being suggested but not something that one really wants to do. Or you could say, "I might as well stay home tonight." You don't really want to stay home but there are no better suggestions. Hope this helps! 😃👍

    I understand why you are linking sounds together, why use the schwa but I am not really a big fun to these reductions - not even in speaking. Okay, a couple of people told me, my fault in speaking is not using the right intonation, word stress and linkings and I always try to speak according to the correct grammar rules. And honestly, I can write correctly in Hungarian (believe me, it is hard!) and I do my best to write correctly in English. Maybe once when I don't have such a strong accent as now, maybe it will be worth for me using these reductions. You showed a tinypart of a Tom Cruise's movie. Do you know its title?

      @@InteractiveEng it's kind of amazing that I found your videos, man. Yours are by far the best English lessons I watched. I've been learning English for two decades. My native language is Chinese. It's kind of frustrating that no matter how many series and documentaries and talk shows I watch, no matter how many people I talk to, there's still vocabularies that I've never seen or expressions I've never heard of. And not to mention all the professional terms... I'm not getting any younger and I think my ability to memorize words is failing bit by bit.

    Hi Wes, if someone say something annoying what should I tell this guy KNOCK IT OFF or DROP IT?

    • @InteractiveEng
      @InteractiveEng  6 лет назад

      That's a good question Dale. Typically, if someone says something once or repeatedly then you could tell them to "Knock it off!" This is also more forceful. If someone is says something repeatedly, you could tell them to "Drop it!" Hope this helps! 😃

      Thanks for commenting. Are you able to try and identify some of the challenges you face (consonant blends, certain vowel sounds, etc)? If you can, then you can focus purely on that. Also, here's another lesson you may find useful to practice your pronunciation: ruclips.net/video/-QjLmgd6zwM/видео.html 😊

    You got to make example phrases more interesting and more practical, instead of “study for an exam”, “do homework”… they are boring

      Thanks for your comment. We'll keep that in mind for the future. I suppose that's just the teacher in me. 😂 But of course the reductions may be substituted with any other verb phrase. 😃👍
