      Oh my... Chris had to edit out a bit as I was literally ECSTATIC! Between the rather exciting/challenging for me drive to arrive at the top of the one peak and then the view - I can say that one afternoon and into the next morning changed me life forever. It was magical for me.

    Chris, get some Soda 2 liter bottles, clean them out and fill them with water, get them close to the fire pit while you guys eat, talk etc, by the time you're ready to take a bath, you'll have great hot water to put on your shower, that's what we do when we camp by the beach.

    I know this is an old video, but just wanted to point out the 12:00 mark where you opened a gate and drove through. Hopefully you closed it ;-) The rule is if a gate is open leave it open if it's closed, close it after you pass through. Love your adventures and so glade you enjoyed Utah! PS the camp site is so Nevada... Blah! Now you know why they legalized gambling in that state. It's the only way they could get people to stay lol.

    Great video guys. You make a great traveling team. The hot springs you were at outside of Austin NV is Spencer HS. You're rite it's kind of disgusting currently. I was there a few weeks ago and same thing, on that same baron noel. The great thing about there is the wild Burros and horses not to mention the coyotes. The not so great is the burros like to announce themselves whenever they enter your camp no matter what time. But that's part the experience. Nevada is a amazing state for overlanding but don't tell anyone. Looking forward to your next vid. Safe travels

    What Map source do you use in Gaia GPS when exploring new areas?

    • @JenniferLangille
      @JenniferLangille 6 лет назад +3

      I'm not sure if this is answering your question, we actually use downloaded offline google maps A LOT (especially the satellite view) and back it with the information Gaia provides for BLM land, etc.

    • @dcsubie21
      @dcsubie21 6 лет назад

      yes, that mostly answered my question. what overlay do you use to show the BLM areas? and I hope you are enjoying your time in California.

    • @venture4wd
      @venture4wd  6 лет назад +2

      Hey Josh! I use the default “Gaia Topo (feet)” basemap most of the time, but I have Gaia Premium allowing me to add the “Public Land” transparent overlay, which accurately shows National Forest land as green, and BLM as read. Great for knowing what type of land you’re on at-a-glance! I have found that the raster “US Topo” basemap has better detail than “Gaia Topo”, and is a superb data source, particularly out west, but the data is much heavier, and harder to download in bulk. Cheers!
