The one octave challenge is that he is singing one octave higher than the Josh Groban version throughout the whole song.
He is simply amazing!

He basically started where Josh Groban finished , so his range is 1 octave higher and as the song progresses, he goes 1 octave higher each time

The "one octave challenge" means that the musical key is raised by one octave from the original key written in. The progression of the song is the same, just in a higher key.

I love that so many reacts to and love Tommy’s covers, but I can’t help getting a bit frustrated when those who react won’t do a basic background search for questions about the song/artist etc they have BEFORE they react. Sometimes, like in this case it could be very easily solved by just reading Tommy’s description of the video. The artists do tend do give relevant information there. Do the work beforehand and you will get so much more out of the song/performance, I promise!👍🏻

Josh Groban has been my favorite singer ever since his debut on Ally McBeal a few decades ago. (Dan Vasc has since replaced him. Don't tell Josh!) But Tommy is so good and just adorable. I love watching him perform. What a cutie-patootie!❤

There is a vid with Dan and Tommy mixed togheter´singing Queen who want to live forever I believe, but not remember, but its not a real collaboration but mixed togheter of some fan.
Yes Tommy sings this one octave higher than Josh the whole song!
And if you want to say hi to Tommy he always talk to us about 11.30-12.00 every friday when he release a new cover. he is super nice! Its Swedish time so very early for you.
