- Welcome to Part 2.
We start test fitting the B18C motor into the engine bay.
We're using Honda rubber mounts to keep it as smooth as possible.
We'll share as much info as possible. Let us know in the comments you want to see and we'll try to share.
Hit up the Store and order your CRX T-Shirt
www.lhtperform...
Supercharger is sold
She’ll is sold
Complete exhaust is sold.
One day I’ll bring my EK sedan to your shop. Your work is amazing.
This is the most comprehensive swap I have seen done on a crx to fit a b18. No one else has.showed.what you did to make it fit correctly. Now I want to save up and build one myself. I miss my 91 Crx
Did this swap back in 2002, love seeing these being done 20 years later ❤️
did a b17 GS-R into a 89 Dx CRX back in 2012, almost 10 years later and its still a blast to drive. "Its not fast, but it's quick"
It begs to be driven hard.. and is a Cop magnet. Adrenaline rush every drive.
@@racerx9931 LOVE IT!
@@racerx9931 "It's not fast, but it's fun !" Ahahah
Swapping honda engines is like its own art form 👌
I think the pace is perfect for the videos I feel it’s one of the reasons I keep watching because I never get bored nor do I feel like I’m missing important steps. That’s just me personally though I enjoy every video! Btw I need to borrow your thumb when you’re free I need to fab up some brackets.
My thumb is a metric inch 🤫. Thanks for the kind words. I hope to keep the series rolling and excited to meet more Honda guys at the LHT / CHD meet Oct 8th.
Long time subscriber but been interested in other things and haven’t watched in a while. True Honda guy like you. 79 accord automatic in Hawaii. New 88 CRX si long gone and now daily an 07 Civic. You are a quirky guy but most genius’s are. Talking about cheap sunglasses 😎 and little rants here and there but and it’s a big but, don’t change a thing about your channel! I’m noticing better editing, music choices, time lapses etc. never change
Looking forward to the shirt, especially in honor of Steve.
The shirt just went in the store today. They are going super fast
I laughed out loud when you said “ if we mess up the counting “ and you put your wife up haha. Good video as always, sir!
Perfect length and all nicely explained 👍. Always enjoyable to watch these builds come together 👍👍.
Enjoy all your content John, your coverage of the bert hatch's exhaust work has help me adapt a plan to quiet down my own project much appreciated man, will be buying one of those crx shirts to support!
I see that engine and just drool 🤤…. Great content as always 👍🏼
Amazing brings lots of high school memories just love the old CRX
Hey man, emailed you guys over to schedule a time to drop off my s2000 to do a supercharger Build. Coming from Chicago ! Can’t wait
An R swap is something that I want for Li'l 1 after I'm done enjoying the LS VTEC.
Love the early Honda’s builds! Reminds me of when we would custom fab LS T brackets to use for B series swaps in EKs if we didn’t have access to the SI T brackets. My brother did a few of them and worked beautifully. Just something about swapping and fabbing older Hondas is so satisfying. Love to see it bruv keep on keepin on! 💪🏼💪🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
I love the old-school builds, John. You guys are so innovative and do it as if it were factory fresh... the way it should be done. Very tidy installs.👍 I always enjoy your content and honestly wouldn't change a thing. Beautiful work again, guys!😎👌 Have a great tomorrow.
Awesome job as always
I love your work ethic an attention to detail as much as my own. I've owned three CRX's an this build is making me miss them even more. One day I'll get the money and time to bring my 01 Integra GsR to you, I think you'd be quite impressed with her condition.
love to see this inside scoop on these classic swaps. My first car was a 1990 DX sedan and this was exactly what I'd envisioned for it (of course didn't have funds back then). Thanks for sharing this!
Makes me wanna buy a crx and build it
Your build series are always excellent! Reminds me of when I first found your channel.
I love the way you guys do what you do, explain it and it all makes sense and looks good too. Awesome 😎😎👌🏾
Amazing work💯🙏
Currently working on an 86 CRX Si and doing a B18b swap. No bull$hit here. 42yo, and still JDM af.
That’s super JDM
A friend of mine might have a few of those airboxes from the tons of crxs he's parted out over the years. He lives up in brooksville.
He has tons of ef and da parts just loaded in his barn.
Has a 92 gsr shell he would probably part with also. Has the b17 but no tranny.
That would be great if you could check.
Love to see the whole process. It's really interesting! Keep up the good content.
I love these videos. I know you must have spent many hours figuring all of this out and I think it's very generous of you to publish all these technical details for free. One thing I'm left wondering is what is the proper axial angle of the engine, is the flat portion of the oil pan meant to be level/parallel to the ground?
Thanks for the kind words. There’s many places to measure for hood axle alignment. Including the distance from the axle to the lower control arm mounting point. By using the 90-93 Integra post mount and engine mount, you’re half way there
#LHTPERFECTION
Loving this build!
Like the music you're using!!!im in the situation now that sensor (cylinder 1)going bad!!on the d16a9 😔 amd i dont know what or how to fix that!!like you said that is a pain.....
hey that mount thing is interesting. always wondered why the 90 91 mount curved that way.
I’ll get some straight ok above shits when it’s finished. You’ll get some good prospective on the position.
I can say the same thing. Your work is amazing
Thanks so much. We really appreciate the feedback.
Looking good! A plasma cutter would speed things up ;)
Definitely buying a t shirt! Maybe also a vtec solenoid cover 🤣
I get the idea of making the swap to have a oem feel with no vibration. The front tranny mount will be interesting to see how you make it work,I have a b20 vtec and my motor rocks back and forth. I’m thinking of making a mid plate from traction bar to trans to rear crossmember.
Cant wait to see it done !
Master 👏👏👏👏👏
I'd say the content is pretty on point. Wouldn't mind some POV driving videos though
Thanks for sharing this content. Really looking forward to how this turns out. The B18C5 motor is my favorite. Had a JDM one in high school in a DC2. VTEC crossover in this engine is pure ecstasy. Are you thinking of adding a throttle body spacer on this one?
Btw I’m this video you do the right amount of explaining not too much talking. I’ve learned a few tricks from you. Thank you, sir!
Keep up the great work. glad to see a CRX there again. I have my B16 swapped Y-49 CRX and have a JRSC with one of your intercooler kits that I still have not mounted. I am missing hardware (tensioner brackets and mounting tabs) for the JRSC kit. any idea where I can buy them?
Is this a JDM 220 B18c5 or the USD 190hp B18c5? Either or it's going to be a fun car after it's built. The fact you found a clean CRX body is a miracle.
It’s a us Type R rated at 195hp.
Make a black with a yellow CRX t-shirt
If you guys have no luck with a crx airbox, I have an oem ITR air box and tube!
I need a CRX SiR box. We have a DC2 box
I missed the “2mm of clearance” shot, and fix. I think shadows made it hard to see.
Maybe I missed it but can you list the mount part #s you used.
I was able to capture the driver's post but am not sure about others.
Thank you
Love the CRX content! I am restoring a CRX with a b16 swap and would like to keep the AC. Can you give us more information on the AC? Do you convert it to r134? Thanks
We haven’t been able to R22 for years. This was converted to 134 10+ years ago already. We’ll show the AC in the video.
Hope you got the air box I sent
It arrived today and Thank you. Unfortunately it’s not going to work for me. Apparently the JDM ZC is the same box as the us CRX box. I want the larger SiR air box and hose. It’s not your fault, it looked right by the picture that’s all.
Really curious to know why you still choose to do the swap this way instead of just buying the Hasport or Innovative Civic/CRX b-series mounts and the DA rear t-bar.
Let’s see,,, My mount kit places the engine in a better location. The axles have OEM geometry, the rubber mounts are smoother, positioning the motor in a position that give me room for an OEM compressor, header, turbo etc. it’s also the way I did it before all these mount company’s got it the mount business. So it’s part wanting it to be perfect and part nostalgia.
Why did you take the supercharger kit off ? I think it would have been so kool and not to mention fast for sure
To help fund the project and development parts.

Ok now I understand keep up the great work
Where are you locate I love Hondas.
Can y’all open a socal shop just for the summer season 🤙🏼
We couldn’t afford your guys gas over there 😐
Can you show us how to properly drill out a spot weld without going into the frame? I tried using those spot-weld drill bits from Harbor Freight, but the teeth just started popping off left & right when I went to town. Went through two bits and didn't get 1 weld disconnected. :\
We’ve found the Dewalt drill bits that have the small little starter bit work well. They call them ‘pilot point’.
Hey john, a little off topic but would you guys be willing to work on my na1 nsx? I know in the past you have said you didn't like them very much but I am needing some work done (timing belt among other things) and I would love to bring it to your shop. I am still getting all the parts together and it will be a little while before I am ready but I love your videos/work and thought it might make some decent content for your channel as well.
I will call your shop for details but I was hoping you would maybe respond and tell me if your even interested. Thanks and keep up the great content!
When you’re ready. Message me, if we can make it happen we will. We only work on one car at a time so we book a schedule.
@@LHTPerformance thanks for the quick response! I am not in any rush as I am still in need of many parts to refresh some things while the motor is out for the timing belt job. It is good to know that you are interested though. I will hopefully be calling soon. Thanks again for the great content, been watching y'all for a few years now.
By any chance have yall H swapped a crx before?? Would love to see that! Everyone does B, K swaps
About 20 years I did.
@@LHTPerformance nice! I'll keep a look out on your guys videos if one pops up
I have some JDM CRX VTEC rear tail lights if you are interested.
The ones that are on the white CRX were actually off my white CRX hf a bought 18 years ago. I gave them to Steve and that’s what is still on the car. I do appreciate it.
Are the S2000 Stealth shirts coming back?
Whatever sizes are left in the store is all we have. We only make shirts in limited amounts.
Hiw on Earth did you get parts from Innovative is purchased Traction bars on Jan 27th and the wont ship them, return emails or take phone calls
Are you interesed in making Euro FN2 civic typeR turbocharged?
Ep3 shirts?!
I don’t think we’ll have the sales as we have to do 100+ shirts.
@@LHTPerformance lol this is correct, unfortunately
Doesn't Hasport offer mounts for this conversion ?
Yes. Maybe you missed the part about wanting the engine in the original position, and the OEM rubber mounts etc. also having more clearance for a full size radiator and AC compressor
Can an air hammer be used to clearance the rails? Just asking as I saw Eric Kutil's video: ( ruclips.net/video/utFAKs4YmrE/видео.html )when he did some clearancing on his tubs, but I'm not sure if the air hammer is strong enough to pound on the rails
Yes. We use one as it can be controlled pretty accurate when you get the hang of it.
@@LHTPerformance Thanks!
No 2x sizes😔im a big fella😁
We ordered 2XL shirts for the last three batches and sold one. We can’t order them and no one buys them
@@LHTPerformance wait so what cars do you have printed on those sizes that didnt sell?
@@JoseContreras-mv5yz The Colorado shirt, the S2000 shirt and the Integra shirts
@@LHTPerformance damn no crx😔thanks anyways
@@JoseContreras-mv5yz So we just sold a 2XL in the store, I just gave the guy 5 shirts. If your reading this, enjoy 👍🏻
Koyorad's absolutely SUCK. Had one in my Lexus GS300 2jzgte Boost Logic swapped daily and it was total @$$. Only aftermarket company I've ever had problems with.
