Ever since I first laid eyes on a CRX, I fell in love and knew I'd have one when "I grew up" (I was probably 6 years old at the time). It was a yellow CRX I'd spotted from the back seat of my mom's car coming out of the gate of our neighborhood (There was a gas station right by the entrance/exit and it was coming up from the gas station from our right and pulling up in front of us to get in line for the light). It had the black louvers on the hatch glass (which I friggin' LOVED already on cars like Camaros and DeLoreans, even more in the rex), rest of the exterior was stock but it had a loud exhaust so it was probably not stock under the hood. Years go by and I'm in high school and I'd saved up enough money for a rex so I bought one. Then later on I bought another one that was in magazine quality shape after spending thousands of dollars on the first one. I remember having 2 red Rexes and a yellow gixxer at the time. Ahhh the good ol' days. Anyway I still have that 2nd rex, it was and is "the one" and I'm taking it to the grave. It's still my dream car. I feel like after around 2014, car design took a MASSIVE hit and it's just never recovered. In recent years some cars have corrected the many mistakes of excess, but they're not the majority and it's definitely not completely fixed. It ain't rose tinted glasses either. Anyway I've babbled on long enough. LOVED this video and I love how well done this swap is put together, SPECIALLY that A/C! Most people I've spoken with (even online) say it can't be done with B swaps, and I've always been like why the heck not? The SiR comes with A/C from the factory.
Excellent work y’all do. 97 I was moving out my parents place and getting a place w my girl now wife lol. I remember nopi day budds creek and atco. I had a 91 civic Si hatch b16 swap Dc header thermal cat back exhaust and 99 Si wheels. Miss that car
I really loved all the history you shared because im realizing ive been a fan a lot longer than i thought! I had all those honda tuning mags as wallpaper in my bachelor pad years back. I literally took the staples out of the center and just pinned them all over the walls for constant inspiration!
John, thanks for sharing these memories with us. Those were some outstanding shots of the 3 CRX’s considering the horrible cameras from those days compared to what we have now. Regardless, those were amazing looking cars.
Man. I wish I wasn't on the opposite side of the country from you. Just from the videos I feel like I could drop my car off hand you a list of things I want done and know it would be in good hands. I'm working on installing ac in my 91 hatch using an ek compressor like you guys did and you just solved my ac hose dilemma.
Wow John such history! The pictures are amazing man, pure gold. You guys have paved the way for enthusiasts today. Really nice job on the a/c lines. This car is going to be another project well done. That exhaust from tanabe is actually great. So low key for daily driving but tons of fun when you want some noise. I have it installed on my b16a 1990 Hatchback. Thank you again for all that you guys do and bring to the table 👍🚙

In 97’ I was 9 years old. Didn’t get into Hondas till I was 15. Been nothing but a Honda head since and learned everything I could about Hondas to this day (33) I value Soichiro Honda as one of the most inspirational human beings from this earth and I am so honored to be a Honda head as his history, his dream and his work is an absolute legendary piece of automotive history and lives within me. Also with the work of Tatsuru Ichishima of Spoon and Hirotoshi Honda of Mugen, the SON HIMSELF of Honda! have inspired me beyond belief and I will forever be thankful for them and their legacy in the automotive industry. And it’s fellow Honda heads like you brother LHT that keep me so excited to continue to be a Honda head well into the future. 7:28 In 1997 I was busy ricing out (in the worst way imaginable) a black 1993 Civic EX coupe. The debauchery included a massive fiberglass WingsWest spoiler, DC header, 17x7 Focal F5 wheels, B&G Suspension, muffler delete, shaved hood, and worst of all I had the door handles and tag trim professionally painted chrome yellow.
I miss the old website too with all your build pictures. Now the new website really doesn't showcase the talent you have. Always liked how clean your meticulous your turbo builds are. I've had your website bookmarked since around mid 2000s. I had a del sol I wanted to get you to turbo but I sold it in 2009. I sold it in 2009 though for$3k
I remember buying that magazine with your k-sight in it. What was so interesting to me was the fuel milage claim of around 48 mpg (if I remember correctly), made possible by a lean burn partial throttle fuel map. I'd like to see a video of you discussing this further, and possibly duplicating that sort of tune on another car.
@@LHTPerformance Could you make a video on lean burn tuning? There is an absolute void of videos on this topic. I'd like to know about the types of tuning software and sensors required to complete this type setup.

Yep. After a little more tweaking we got a little over 50 mpg without a problem. We later built an AWD turbo version that did supper 40s too.

Piping isn’t so much the issue, it’s the larger sized muffler as mentioned. We can build some pretty trick stuff, but time is also money.
@@LHTPerformance 3" fits fine on mine we all know time is money but so is a $600 exhaust with less potential than one for less than half the price 🤔

Have you ever encountered axle problems when using b series hasport mounts in an ef .
Yes.
@@LHTPerformance thanks for the reply is there anyway to fix it other than getting different mounts?
@@TealEF90 Limit the amount of drop will help with the axle angle. But no real fix I know of.

Have you ever done an h22 crx with ac?
We put AC in everything we do.
Is that greddy muffler for sale😬
What brand and size are those fans?
SPAL. 12” pull fan on the radiator and 10” push on the condenser.
Who makes the crossmember?
Innovative I believe.
