I'm a staunch atheist and a die hard Switchfoot fan. If you take God completely out of any of this, there is so much love and compassion in this music. Whether you're a Christian, a Jew, a Muslim, a Sikh, or don't have faith in anything, the humanity that's being professed by this man and his band is inspiring. Jon and all of Switchfoot are model Christians, but more importantly, they're model humans.
this song makes my day. every. single. time i listen to it. especially today when I feel conquered by life. by this italian test i'm about to take. life is sooo much more than college....so much more than earthly treasure and moments caught up in preparation for everything other than eternity. i would love to just write like jon. write all my emotions and display my heart on a page or two. i feel like he lives with a passion so deep. i don't know many like him.

For me, it was one of those things that you secretly wish for but refuse to tell anyone for fear of being blown off by them 'cause of your crazy "impossible" dream. One of those dreams that when you are fantisising about it, your happy daydream is interupted by one thought: "Give it up, it'll never happen!" But now I know it can. ^_^
