One of if not the sexist looking vehicles, period. That interior is amazing! If they could just pop something like the Ford Edge Sport 2.7l Twin Turbo v6 in that. Sold!

Dream SUV
I believe the Evoque never selects 1st gear when moving off the line and therefore its really slow till 3MPH. Moving to S mode on the gear shifter and using the paddles to shift down actually gets you to 1 and its a lot quicker off the line then. I have tried this myself. The 9 speed in general is really jerky though

I had a 2013 Evoque (also had a 2012 that was a lemon, so exchanged it through LR for another one) and it was the most seductive car I've ever purchased. It handles like a sporty car and is very comfortable to drive in town and long distances. The reliability is beyond horrendous, so I replaced it with a much less sexy BMW after nearly two years.

Buffeting is actually really important to my family to the point I think you should have it as one of your standard tests. My wife loves to keep the windows open during city driving so it is helpful to know. In fact, I got rid of a Ford Cmax because of this.
All cars will have a resonant frequency at a specific speed, so If you want to stop the wind noise just speed up or slow down slightly and the vibration will stop.Another option is to open an additional window and once again the vibration will stop.
I got the 290HP version. Believe me, it isn’t slow!!! 😉

I Love this evoque the color and everything
i've been in some fancy cars and i can honestly say that every single one of them has buffeting noise if you roll a rear window all the way down. I wasn't aware that there were even cars that this didn't happen in.

Over 40 years virtually every car I have ever owned or been in will bottle cap when you put down a single rear window...its a cycle of pressurizing and de-pressurizing, crack the second window and it will stop.

FYI. When you have buffeting through a front window, just slightly open the back window and it stops. :-)

My buddy had one as a demo when he worked at range rover, and my dads 2012 Honda crosstour would walk it... on the track.

This thing needs the eco boost motor from the Escape titanium. Those things straight rip.
A look at Consumer Reports 2019 New Car issue rates the EVOQUE as "Much Worse Than Average".
On the other hand my MAZDA CX 5 GT Reserve is rated as "Much Better Than Average"
Hmmmm... EVOQUE, US $67,000.+ ---- CX 5 Signature, US $38,000. and that's WITH loads of tech safety and luxury features.

Ford and mazda share platforms sometimes. I.e look at the mazda 6 and the ford fusion, or the old escapes.
Its also the name. Mazda doesnt carry the same weight as a range rover
But i personally would take a $55,000 ford explorer st, faster, bigger, similar styling. And did i mention, faster?
OverKnight, MAZDA no longer partners with Ford, hasn't for several years. Yeah, at that inflated price the EVOQUE can easily afford to give some nicer luxury touches but take a DRIVE in a CX 5 +Signature or the GT Reserve that I bought and you will be very impressed at what you get for the money.
1. adaptive headlights that level with heavy loads and TURN with the steering wheel
2. a suite of safety tech features like blind spot monitoring, automatic proximity braking, holographic heads up speedometer & traffic warnings, rear crossing warning, etc.
3. very nicely leather appointed interior
4. good infotainment system
5. excellent steering feel and handling
6. innovative recirculating turbo with variable vane intake on a 2.5 L. engine
7. 5 star NHTSA safety rating

front camera is for off road use really. it helps a lot when you crest a hill and cant see over the hood
The infotainment system has a battery indicator on it when they had the maps on 😂 maybe range rover just stuck a tablet in there

Another car that is probably never crossed shopped with this thing but actually has a ton of similarities is the Golf R. I'd take the Golf R.
I just beat one of these three times on 880 north out of San Jose in my 1995 328ic convertible. He was pissed! This happened two hours ago.
Loved this review. So basically this SUV is perfect except for the weak motor. What do you think about the Velar? Looks better and has a sweet engine in it. I think it deserves a review.

The split screen monitor is perfect for nagging passengers in the front, because they can watch TV or DVD while the driver can see his things at the same time!
I was able to get over the lack of box test. But no visor test was bit of a letdown.

Hey I took that very personally, haha. I actually almost traded in my '08 Element for the 19 Evoque last night. Talked the dealer down 5K on the Evoque, still lookin' around so it's def a close contender.

My wife and I are expecting a baby and was considering to buy this SUV since it will be flexible enough in the city due to it's size. Does anyone have experience with the cargo space and whether all the baby equipment(carseat, stroller, bags) will fit the car?
I had one! It’s pretty small, but it does work well for taking a toddler, I don’t know about a baby however. It should be fine though, the back seat is roomy for a car seat, and I don’t see why a stroller and bags wouldn’t fit in the trunk. It’s tiny but roomy at the same time, it’s a great car
