    Great looking tank, does the Betta not go for the shrimp?

    • @MSAquascaping
      @MSAquascaping  3 месяца назад +2

      Thanks, Azad. Yes, Tatanka is pretty aggressive towards the shrimps so I had to separate it temporarily for now. My previous betta wasn't as aggresive as Tatanka but well, I guess it's in his name. 😅

    Tank won't thrive without Co2?

    • @MSAquascaping
      @MSAquascaping  2 месяца назад

      Hi Manny, i usually inject CO2 into new setups to have a nice carpet of plants. How do u have ur tanks setup? Would love to know from others as well. 😊

      @@MSAquascaping I'm about to make a tank for betta soon. But without co2. Can you please tell me what I should use to ensure that my plants don't melt and die? It would be so much of a big help. And I won't place the wood. Just rocks and plants. Please please help

    • @MSAquascaping
      @MSAquascaping  2 месяца назад +1

      @mannyblackstar Bettas are tough fishes in the sense that they can survive in harshest water conditions even in their natural habitat. What's the size of ur tank, Manny? If you're setting up a planted tank, do regular water changes (50%) daily for the first week n alternate days the following week until the water parameters are stable. Do tests on the water to check on ammonia, nitrate, nitrite n ensure they are of safe levels.
      Try to get easy growing plants if possible. CO2 helps promote fast growth of the plants but not necessary. Once tank is cycled, it's safe to add inhabitants.
      Would love to see the outcome of ur betta fish tank. Keep me updated. ❤️

      @@MSAquascaping 30cm30cm30cm is the size. Which is 1 feet. Which plants would be good? Please tell. And tell the substrate I can use. Thank you so much. I want to heavily plant it to make it beautiful but please tell me what plants would be better? And how to defend algae if in time it becomes. And if any snail or shrimp will help against the algae then please do tell. Thank you.

    • @MSAquascaping
      @MSAquascaping  2 месяца назад +1

      @mannyblackstar that's a decent size tank tbh. U should decide what kind of foreground plants to have a nice carpet, mid ground n background plants.
      I love dwarf hairgrass for my foreground as it's easy to manage n plant them. It carpets beautifully.
      Mid ground plants, u can go for crypts. I have yet to explore the many types of crypts.
      Background plants, i love using cabombas, rotala 'blood red' as they're easy to grow stem plants.
      Algae will happen eventually. I have shrimps to help feed on the algaes n otocinclus also helps!
      As for the substrate, i have always been using aquasoil.
      Dont be scared of failures as u learn from them. Try whatever u think is good for the tank setup n I wish u all the best!
      Check out my videos of the different setups i have n the steps I did to new tanks. 😁
