I did not watch the video all the way through first…cooked up 16 cups of juice and used 12 cups sugar. This stuff is sweet as all get out!! I hope it sets up. I did use 2 sure jell packs because mine was a little out of date. Guess we will see soon! Thanks for the vid.

When I was a child Momma would mix some of that wonderful jelly with some thick cows cream an we would sop that with those good Biscuits, that was a treat. Thank you for all your hard work. Lord you got me hungry fort jelly now lol!! I remember the first time I ever tried this jelly was about six years ago our neighbor they were older couple, they had a press they used to get all the juice out of the muscadines and they showed me how it worked and turn it for a while for them was allot of work but was worth the time and effort. I really enjoyed the fruit of my labor that day!! Hope you and John and your family be protected from the storm that is coming. Have you ever made Scuppernong Jelly? My all-time favorites to make are Strawberry Preserves, Candied Fig Preserves, and Blueberry Jelly! My Granny taught me how to do most of my cooking and I sure miss her. Thank the good Lord for the memories !

Tiffany. As long as you use clean hot jars and clean hot lids with hot jelly in them they should seal and you don't ha e to water bath. I've been doing this for close to 30 years now and never have. Just make sure they seal and you are good.
Do you not water bath can them? I would can in a water bath for 10 minutes (low altitude) to make sure the jelly is sterilized for long term storage just to be on the safe side.
I know that jelly has to taste so good! I don’t think Michigan has muscadine’s 🤔. I may have to do some research. I definitely need to make John’s paw paws Cathead biscuits!!! I bet both taste amazing together! As my 7 year old says about you, Mrs. Amazing Amy did it again 💜💜💜😊
Amy, love the idea of a freezer test. But what if it didn’t gel? How would u continue with the fruit liquid in the pot? BTW….u have made jelly making look so simple…but it’s not. Kudos to you and your jelly making skills. Your muscadine jelly is beautiful. Did all the jars “ping?”

My Daddy liked to make Muscadine wine. The best wine he ever made he dropped the crock! Of course it busted and it went all over the floor before he could get it bottled. He was so upset. No wine that year!
Help! I made your jelly right by the instructions and it didn’t set. I made it at night and when I woke the next morning it was still liquid. Can I redo it now that it’s sat overnight?
Yes you certainly can. Pour it back into the pot. Cook until a teaspoon full sets up on a plate that you put in the freezer for one minute. When it sets up like that It will be jelly. Please let me know.

It is 10 cups. I go on snd say in the video that is is 10. I need to stop staying it because if I mess up I cannot fix that. But 10 cups sugar is correct 😊

So you don't have to water bath can these?(new canner here) these are shelf stable as they are without processing them in a water bath

Su If I'm remembering correctly I believe it was 10 jars. If I have too little left for a last jar I put it on my refrigerator to be eaten first.
