      Thanks Marlaina! Same to you and your family! This batch or rocks were a bit fractured but still like to tumble them. Better than just laying around the garage!

    Just beautiful and I like the way you separated the agates by location found. The music was beautiful and appropriate too. As always, thanks for taking me along.

    Would you ever consider cutting some larger specimens for people?
    We have a few we'd love to cut, but wouldn't use a diamond saw often enough to buy one.

    That barrel for your rotary tumbler is looking a bit spent. Have you used one made out of tire rubber? If so, I'm curious if you've noticed any difference between that and a hard plastic one like you have (aside from the noise level). Beautiful stuff you have up there, I miss having a resource like that around. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi I'm a new subscriber I find your videos really interesting as I would like to know/learn more about rocks/gemstones. Question: I found this very beautiful sunstone in reddish-pink and a beautiful carnelian agate and I really want to polish them but I don't have equipments . Do you have a video of how to polish stones at home without equipment??? Thank you 😊

    • @RockhoundingLife
      @RockhoundingLife  3 года назад

      Hi there and thanks for subscribing! To polish rocks you will need to by some type of equipment. There are cheap methods however. The best cheaper method is to use the polishing pads I show in some of my earlier polishing videos. They provide an amazing polish when used correctly and a pad set only costs $75. You can use the pads with a regular drill you have at home, or you can purchase a cheap drill for around $50. This will get you up an polishing rocks for pretty cheap.

    * I was surprised that some of them didn't fracture.. Many had cracks that made them look ready to break pieces off or just crumble to pieces.. Glad you took the chance & tumbled them.. Can you use a Dremel to make holes to make pendants out of the ones with small vuggs??

    • @RockhoundingLife
      @RockhoundingLife  3 года назад

      Yes this batch had a lot of fractures. One of the reasons why I didn;t try to make them perfect. Shine ended up being ok though

    How much time does tumbling take

    • @RockhoundingLife
      @RockhoundingLife  3 года назад +1

      The method I use for tumbling takes about 2 weeks start to finish on average. Sometimes longer if I really want to get all the imperfections out in the first stage.

  • @jimlancaster6120

    Looks like it's getting whiter outside means more tumbling inside.
