I would tie in the wood elements of the kitchen by putting some wood crates or baskets in the open shelves of the night stands. These turned out very pretty, love the legs you found!

I love them!!!! The legs are so cool and they update those tables perfectly!!
To stop the bowing issue you just need to put a solid piece of wood on top and clamp it down hard until it dries. The pressure will flatten the pieces out and the glue will keep them in place.

I forgot to mention that the same thing happened for me with the wood strips when I made my herringbone pattern for my upcycle. I used PVA glue the first time and they all warped. I had to do over but the next time I used the Maxi Nails glue. Apparently the PVA glue is waterbased and that's what makes the wood warp - I used popsicle sticks for my herringbone - and the Maxi Nails glue is solvent based and does not release water vapor when it dries up😊

I like the new feet on the nightstands! I thought you would be using a colored paint… but white is classic ❤ !! Looks so nice 👍

If you had pressed the wood with a scrap board and clamps while it dried you probably would have been ok with the stir sticks. The glue will warp the cheap wood so you need to keep them in place

You can keep the paint brush in a plastic bag sealed and in the freezer if water based paint until the next time using same paint.

dixiebelle has a cool wood herringbone transfer. It looks really good with the saltwater color. I may have done that to 2 sets of nightstands.

I have found I can get that smooth finishwith a paper grocery sack and sand it
You probably could have got those pieces of wood to stick had you clamped them down. I would have taken two short pieces 2 x 4’s and put them in between the decorative pieces of wood and the clamps. That way when you tightened the clamps, the 2 x 4’s would have helped evenly distribute the pressure across all the pieces of decorative wood on the drawer fronts.

Lauren I need advice….
I’ve got 2x large dressers one with a mirror /2x nightstands and a headboard with mirror it’s all in dark wood I want to brighten up the room with the pieces but I’m not sure what colors I should use or the steps I should take to refurbish it. Any advice would help

Great job, as usual! I was just wondering why you weren't using the Surfprep sander on this project. I see people with those using other sanders from time to time and always wonder why. I would think I'd always use the Surfprep because of the dust collection. Is there a reason why Surfprep owners sometimes use their orbital sander instead? Just wondering . . . . .

You do a nice job with the paint basics preppingexplanations, etc. Maybe start upping your game? Decoupage, blending, etc?? Currently, it's becoming a yawn.
