Absolutely love it. Classic cars forever. One difference with old cars, you looked at one and you knew what it was, unlike this modern garbage. All look the same. No character. Classic cars are beautiful and turn heads.
Bitterly regret not being able to attend this Granada meet. One of my favourite cars, I desperately wanted to go but couldn’t arrange the transport. Genuinely gutted.
Didn't know it was a special event for Granada's an unexpected bonus. I was talking to someone with a Renault 15 as "NHK" went past me. I did a double take !. Pleased you had a great event weather wise and turnout wise by the looks of it !
Mk1 & Mk2 Granadas were also built in South Africa, so likely many survive there. Some South African examples make it to the UK, thanks in part they too drive on the same side of the road we do, thus RHD.
I once owned the green Ford Granada 3.0 GL from the TV series Butterfly's with Wendy Craig! I have had a Consul GT 3.0 as well as others still a favoured car and this video is eye candy! Is that the original sweeny car or a mockup?
Yes the bronze mk1 and silver mk2 are both the original Sweeney cars I believe. Unfortunately the last tax and mot shown for that reg was 2007 so probably isnt still around unless its tucked up in a garage somewhere
Such a lovely site all those stunning mk1 saloons

Absolutely fabulous! Always wanted one of these. Never realised so many were still around. Interesting to note that there's no many MK3's onwards!
I'm from South Africa and my dad owned 4 or 5 Granada's , they were fantastic cars
Nice to see the sweeney consul gt and the very last granada they used together
great video, memory lane,thank u.

Lovely lovely cars. I had 4 in total over the years, great cars.
So many granadas 😍 cheers for that 👍
Never thought I'd see a clone of my '73 Consul at 3:05 😍😍

0:49. Yes, that really is NHK295M from The Sweeney. The real vehicle. Not a stunt car, or a recreation or anything like that.

I love my mark 1
Wish I still had my coupe
The blue Granada at 3:29 looks like a South African Perana 5.0 liter V8 as built by Basil Green. The badges are all in the right place.
I did wonder that. I wonder how many made their way to the UK ?
@@Drew_Eden- apparently quite a few (like most). And many, many of our Fairmont 351 GTs went to Australia.

Mike it is the original Sweeney car that's been restored.
man I love hearing my dad talk about his mk2. even tho his was terrible sense it liked to break down and crashed into a light pole XD
Is that Sweeney car the original? I used to be in the Mk1 owners club. Anyone know if JMK 646P is still around?

WRONG MUSIC from the 40s, cars from the 70s ....only in England, still swingin in L ..
A Ford Granada that was sold in America is essentialy a different car with the same name on it.
Where is Lefty??
Benedikt Saurer Lefty was there, his car is shown around 3.27 on video
Does anyone know the name of the colour of the car at 7:48 ?
Purple velvet I believe
@@JoshMoulton Thanks Josh 👍My first car was a 2.0 V4 Consul in that colour
Mark 1 a far far better car. I had mark 1 3 litre wire Essex engine far superior to the Koln crap
