  • Tashi, a former tennis prodigy turned coach is married to a champion on a losing streak. Her strategy for her husband's redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against his former best friend and Tashi's former boyfriend. Zendaya, Mike Faist, and Josh O’Connor star in director Luca Guadagnino's Challengers. This is about tennis, but also so much more. Should Challengers be on your watchlist? Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind moved into my head like 2 decades ago...that Beck song...brutal beauty.

    As emotionally devastating Closer was a rough one. Love the movie but don't watch it with your significant other i guess.

    Two emotionally devastating movies that have stuck with me are Blue and Au Revoir Les Enfants.
    Thank you for this review, Chris! I am actually going to watch this one in theaters. I am looking forward to it.

    Wheee! Glad to hear you liked it so much. I'm excited to see it! Spoiler alert... Zendaya explained how those shots were done, she said the ball "might not really be there", lol.

      Hahaha, NO!! I want to maintain the illusion that the balls were really flying at the camera 😂

    Zendaya said on Jimmy Kimmel that many tennis scenes were done with CGI; they weren't hitting balls at all.

    Manchester by the sea and In the Bedroom were devastating but powerful and memorable films about loss

    Overall, enjoyable movie with solid acting and characters. They are all flawed characters in some ways.

    A review I read said the movie felt dragged and there are scenes that play much much longer than they should have.
    What's your take on it ?

    • @MoviesAndMunchies
      @MoviesAndMunchies  Месяц назад +4

      I was enthralled. And some of the drawn-out scenes held quiet purpose.

    I didn't like the movie.. I feel it didn't live upto its potential...because none of the characters have their backstory developed... u don't understand why they r behaving that way with each other at all.
