    There’s something special about fractal tones. And those verbs and long cloudy delays are killer!

    I can't put my finger on it exactly. But this is the best sounding all-in-one modeler I've heard to date. Just has that polished/finished sound. Mix ready.

    Fractal is the one modeler I haven’t tried yet. I went from a hx stomp to a quad cortex now I’m trying the gt1000core. I was afraid of all the menus and the learning curve but now that I have the gt1000 figured out I am not so afraid anymore. Looks fun.

      Hey, I’m still on a quest for a perfect modeller. I’ve had the gt1000 core (still have it) tone master pro and quad cortex. I like the tone master pro due to having Bluetooth to play backing tracks for practice also dual amp ability but I’m not to happy with the effects on there. Quad cortex was ok but I just wastent happy with the gap when switching presets I know you can do scenes but I want to switch presets and the fact you can’t do that in 2023-2024 is wild! The 1000core can switch presets with no gaps but if your using delay and reverb you need the same one on the preset for spill over and it defeats the object of switching lol

    I respect this unit, but the "TURBO" text needs to be bigger. Should be printed across the top of the 3 label screens "T U R B O". Fractal always seems to have the crispy juicey pick attacks, not murky and also lots of detail in the high end. Larry Mitchell gets some really cranked ampy sounding tones from it as well. It's above my pay range but sounds great to me. Especially the reverbs vs GT-1000 reverbs.

    Helix or fm3 . Which one is best when it comes to tones? How many amps on fm3?

  • @westernelectricsoundsystem7532
    @westernelectricsoundsystem7532 Год назад +3

    FM3 too small, FM9 too big. With the best will in the world, three buttons are not enough - no matter how many functions you can assign, just a minefield live. UI would be soooo much better if they had a touch screen like QC, with the 'full on' desktop editor for the much vaunted deep sea divers. Most people I'd guess would be happy with a two-tier UI .... basic quick stuff on a touch screen - rather than umpteen buttons and scrolls and fiddly stuff on the units at the moment. FM6 with touch screen would do it 🙃

    • @Artec619
      @Artec619 Год назад

      I honestly prefer these kind of devices not to have a touchscreen. I don't have experience with the Fractal UI but with HX Stomp it would actually probably be worse trying to fiddle with a tiny screen. Plus, I'd reckon a touchscreen would be a liability in the long run if you tour, you would need a beefy case for it for sure.

    • @westernelectricsoundsystem7532
      @westernelectricsoundsystem7532 Год назад

      @@Artec619 Yes all fair enough. I would hope that the better a system gets - the simpler it ought to be to use - that's good technology. I'm not really too bothered about breaking a touchscreen - they are very tough - whereas a boot landing on a row of plastic buttons would concern me more - as would a spilt drink. Swings and roundabouts. I think in the heat of battle (a gig) I'd prefer the cartoony drag and drop fast crystal clear visuals you get on the QC (not tried a Helix) which are going to be pretty fast and easy to use if a quick change is needed. The idea of navigating the Fractal screen in a hurry scrambles what's left of my mind.

    • @slicksalmon6948
      @slicksalmon6948 7 месяцев назад

      @@Photographiecp Always easy to blame the musician. I’ve only been playing for 60 years, so what do I know? The hardware interface is terrible. The software is quite good, but barely mentioned in the manual, which is unapologetically directed at audio engineers (see the first question in the FAQ). The unit struggles with basic amp tones. For example, a real ‘59 Bassman has 6 knobs and 2 switches, while the Fractal version has about 75 knobs and 20 switches in 10 menus. That should tell you something. The unit handles single coil tones well but struggles with humbuckers, unless you’re playing grunge or metal. The USB interface shuts down the volume control on your computer. The only thing I miss since sending it back is the “always on” tuner.

    • @Photographiecp
      @Photographiecp 7 месяцев назад

      @@slicksalmon6948 what does one have to do with the other? There are also a lot of people who have had a license for 60 years, are they good drivers? That's not a valid statement that qualifies you to say a device isn't good. And I don't blame you, maybe it really isn't for you, that's perfectly ok. I recently bought an amp that is really fantastic, but just not for me, so I sent it back. Nowadays we're really quick to label an appliance as not good just because we don't want to invest the time because we're not used to it anymore. Thanks to smartphones etc., everything has to be available in seconds, if you have to delve deeper, it's "too complicated" etc. The best example is QC. They are popular because most people enjoy the simple user interface that results from the overuse of smartphones that leads to this situation where people are not even able to use their brains OR criticize devices just because they are not able to engage with it for more than 3 seconds.
