It comes down to proving intent. Audit the audit had a video on this a few years back. The state would have to prove that the caller knew they were lying and the 5th amendment prevents you from being a witness against yourself.

Remember, they are security, not law enforcement. They have no authority over you outside the company they are representing. There are numerous lawsuits pending relating to their unprofessional practices.
