Thanks everyone for supporting Peter. I just sat down on the plane and Brodin and I threw this together and uploaded off my phone's hotspot as the plane was boarding to get it up before we fly back to LA. Ahead of the interview I asked Peter if he was comfortable talking about the personal side of this week for him and he said he was alright with it. I honestly do know that he appreciated all the love and support and it helped him out this week. It helped me out too, so thank you. I'm feeling a little emotional writing this message right now even. Thanks again, to all of you. =)
"DOUB-LE-LIFT - DOUB-LE-LIFT - DOUB-LE-LIFT" - I bet that chant was pretty damn exhilerating for Peter. Dude is a competitve maniac. Loved the great questions by Travis , and my favorite response by DL was the part about his confrontation for positive feedback, insightful stuff.
Peter, in response to your "I wish I could have popped off" ect. You may not have got a penta or anything flashy, but you did finish with the best KDA in playoffs between both NA and EU. Goodjob!
HuzzyGames even tho i am a C9 fan I m really happy that dl won. He is #1 adc ( not just because TL won ) and i hope this win helps him get through his situation. GGWP TL.
A lot of respect to Travis for not having the title along the lines of "Doublelift talks about mothers death". True respect as journalist should be doing, respectful of an individuals feelings.
I've had this opinion for some time now Travis but i feel like this is a great video to comment it. You are an incredible interviewer. You are so professional as well as being funny, insightful, and understanding. You keep the interviews awesome while still leaving easter eggs and inside jokes all along the way. I chose this video because of the doublelift incident. i know you two are close but for you to show so much sympathy and to talk about that situation in such a light way, is unreal. You made him and us as the viewers comfortable with asking him how he is doing, without us feeling awkward. That was an insane challenge and you made it look like a cake walk. I truly appreciate your content and your unmatched professionalism. You are a true reporter and everyone in every situation should learn from you and how you do it. My hat is off to you sir and i wish you good health. p.s. you're team is awesome too!! i know they help tremendously.
R. Young oh fuck off, let him praise Travis if he wants. you degenerates on here gotta make sure there isn’t too much positivity being spread huh. And quit acting like your assessment of Travis is somehow more correct than riley’s
I think Travis is super entertaining and a great esports content creator but I wouldn’t say he has the best interviews. There is usually a lot of fucking around
Yeah long time viewer here too, feel the same way man. You do a great job at capturing the emotion and character of the players while allowing them to be themselves.
yer from what i hear he wasnt the closest with his parents either, not saying he wanted that to happen to them but i dont think they where the nicest parents
teemoIRL he fucking loved his parents I'm sure. Yeah his mom kicked him out, but at this point how could he hold any resentment for it? Dl and his mom made up a long time ago too. His parents have shown their support in the documentary Travis did on dl.
Parents are parents, you always love them. I dont really know my father but he is in the process of dying and it affects me. Does no one else think he demonstrates some sociopathic tendencies?
I almost cried when the crowd started chanting his name, I've been a doublelift fan for a long time now and i truly love seeing him get the love he deserves
In times like these, it's more than just a game. We look past the player and we care for them genuinely. No matter how big a fan or a hater you are of TL, when a tragedy like that happens to someone, we put our rivalries and hatred aside to show our love and support for another human being
You know, I learned a lot about Peter "Doublelift" as a person recently. He may seem like a cocky, trash talker on camera, but he has some serious wisdom and knowledge on life in general. It almost teared me up when he was talking about how not just in game but in life with friends and family you have to be confrontational in a positive way to address problems. I look back at how many situations in my life that have gone wrong, relationships that I have lost... If only I could of had that valuable insight and knowledge back then I would be in a lot better place today. He is being so real in this interview, I hope we all can learn from his experience. Grats to Peter and Team Liquid. #TSMWIN
Prior to these recent events, I used to believe DLift was cocky and arrogant. However, in times of crisis a person's true colors shine through and in this case DLift has really impressed me with his thoughtful, heartfelt and constructive attitude. Well done DLift, a well deserved win!
Before the final I told myself, if ANYONE in the world had the mental fortitude to carry on and win a final just after a tragedy on a scale like this, it would be doublelift. Didnt disappoint
dont know if he loves or not loves his parents but in 1 interview he said that he had extreme trouble in his childhood age with his parents so maybe they wasnt so close, i dont know it exactly
He was just talking about how his relationship with them was improving in the past year. So it almost makes it even worse, since they were making up with him.
Stasss Doublelift has mentioned many times that he looked up to his older brother and that both of his brothers are the biggest influences in his life. That same older brother killed his mom and stabbed his dad. Let that sink in...
Peter I've been following you since the beginning and this last win was the most emotional for me really glad you managed to win another LCS title specially with Jake by your side was so so beautiful I'm super proud of you keep up the great work you're already a legend but I hope you stay hungry and keep on making us proud!! :) love you man
Damn mad respect for him for taking it so well. I wonder if it'll come crashing down on him when he's not as focused on LCS stuff or if their past problems in their relation has made him not take it as hard. I wish him the best either way
Tbf even with past relationship problems it's still his family... even if you don't get along.. even if you haven't spoke to them for years a tragedy like that will still be a heavier blow then just about anything I can think of... being able to keep a cool head after that and put yourself back together, stand up and do what you need to do... Ethier shows a tremendous amount of strength and resolve as well as self control, that you are in shock because it doesnt seem real and you are in denial, or you are a borderline sociopath
Thank you Peter! For being such an inspiration to me to not only be a better adc but be a better person. Congrats on your finals win and wish you luck on your future endeavors
i remember when doublelift tweeted his "ill be the greatest american player and this post will make me accountable" and then other players where mocking him by posting the exact same thing (pretty sure sven was on it too). now that he beat them all is incredible and i only wish he can rub it in their faces
True but Bjergsen is technically an EU player. Looking at accomplisments and skill everyone knows that Bjergsen is by far the best that has ever been in the West
Bjergsen has the best legacy for sure, but I think Rekkles will eclipse him if he carries on with his current trajectory, he's definitely been the best player in the West for the last 2 splits now. Having said that, if doublelift is able to consistently play at the level he did in the NA finals, he could also be a contender for the best.
Count Lieberkuhn I think it's not really helpful to compare different roles, I mean you can do it and maybe make a reasonable case for someone, but the roles are too different to really get to a good conclusion. That being said, I think Rekkles made a really strong case this season for being the greatest adc in the west. He NEVER dies (0 deaths in finals only the tip of the iceberg), his teamfighting is absolutely insane, he is able to constantly outcs his enemy (partly to really smart wavemanagement and sidelane-play) and while doing all this great stuff and having all the great stats he is no kda player (as some might say about his past), he is aggressive in the right moments and he has insane highlight plays to prove that. I like Dl, but he can't rival Rekkles.
I be came a Doublelift fan the day he replaced my favorite player Chauster. At the time I knew he was taleted but I never knew he'd go so far. Doublelift has been my favorite player since Chauster retired in 2013. Most people don't understand how dedicated you have been to the game, its your life. They claim you're "toxic" but they haven't seen the CLG streams with saint and hotshot SCREAMING at eachother. You came from a time before there was money in the seen, when there was only passion. I miss those times, it was real. P.S. Double if you ever seen this, You could retired and im still a fan. All was will be. Ive seen the growth you have gone through which has helped me with my own growth. Thank you
professional and chill interviewer and interviewee. Travis your brand has grown so much since I started watching you in 2011. and DL has gone from 0 trophies to winning everything
Been a fan of Dlift since his epikgamer days and I knew he was never gonna give finals up cause of his personal issues but hearing it from his own mouth sent chills down my spine and my heart was so warmed by it. Love you DLift
I don’t know how doublelift did this but it is an amazing feat. To see someone perform beautifully on a huge stage after such a life changing event. I’m so proud to be a doublelift fan. What a man!
I hope this video blows up, it should. It is so refreshing to see such genuine conversation between two good friends. I don't even want to call this an interview, it's too good for that.
good to see DL smiling, passionate and succeeding after such a tragedy.. this kind of no excuses attitude, performance and focus, also considering the circumstances, is a sign of a true legend!
This was great. Thanks for being there for Doublelift, you guys are such an awesome pair. Supported DL from CLG to TSM and now TL. He's the ultimate champion. It's amazing that Peter channeled his energy so strongly, it's honestly inspiring. PROTECT PETER AT ALL COSTS
Travis can you tell peter! I love him so much and that he is my idol, the reason why I play adc. He’s such a strong person and that all of his fans have nothing but pure love and support for him.
He's such a strong man,if I went through what he went through not even a year would be enough to recover ..honestly my prayers and respect for doublelift for doing what he loves and have that much passion about it
I honestly don't think anybody could have approached this interview with such poise and empathy any better than Travis. Keep up the good work and all the best to Doublelift
My full respect to DL . After this tragedy of his family he was still capable to perform on stage. He was still confident to play on the top level and its just fucking awesome to see that he can smile in front of the camera. Just hat down in front of this man . respect
I've been pretty down on TL all split. After hearing how supportive they've been of DL this past week, I'll never say another negative thing about them. I'm happy for their success. DL is a true competitor.
Great videos Travis. I always wished your outros could have a little more than just a "thanks and subscribe" though, something to look forward to at the end is nice, would probably get more people to click that button too.
Thanks for the interview, Travis. Only you could do that interview right, and you did it in an amazing way. So thank you, and thanks to DL for talking about it, in a smart way.
I really hope double reads this but in reply to the 9:40~ comment. I too wish you had popped off but the best thing about this team is we no longer lose when you dont pop off. I still remember watching S5 promo match and being almost sick at the thought of you guys losing. I hope I never have to watch a match that close again. I am glad to be a fan of yours and hope one day to be able to watch you play in person.
It is amazing how DL coped with the situation, and thank you Travis for giving us an insight into the current run of things. Lots of love for the both of you, keep it up guys!
How come this interview brings tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat and DL talks like he's about to get a haircut, a terrible haircut......never stop never stopping Doublelift your family is in our thoughts.
Man i used to not like Doublelift because how toxic he seemed to be but he totally looks like a different teammate now, also so much respect for that passion and willingness to compete and probe he is the best. I still hope he finds the time to be with his family and let what happened sink in, mad respect DL, you are an inspiration not only as a pro gamer but as a person.
For the first time ever. It feels like doublelift has actually matured a ton. He has learned so much about dealing with team mates properly. So proud of him.
I noticed how much he mentions his team now compared to all the "me me me" from before. We don't live on the earth alone and we grow by learning and helping one another. Happy it all worked out in the end.
this is so crazy i dont know.. after everything thats happened last week, how is he able to be so normal? I dont understand. I guess he is a really strong person.
There's no logic in crying , maybe he is like me. The worst fear I have is that I'm going to burst laughing when my parents die. I just don't register death too well , when my grandfather died last year I realized that crying over it made no sense. I had to "fake it" for the family. When I saw him i knew that "he wasn't there anymore". I wasn't looking at a person I was looking at a body. Maybe he is in heaven or maybe not, but he definitely isn't in this world I thought. What's the point of crying when he's on his own journey now. Best to focus on things that matter here and now. From my perspective his mind was completely blocking it out , he just seemed happy about winning. It's almost creepy how he doesn't show any sadness, that's why at least fake it.
I truly have no idea how Doublelift was able to compete this weekend. The guy has some serious mental fortitude. As if I already didn't respect the guy for always being upfront, telling it like it is, this awful tragedy happens and he turns around and 3-0's. Incredible.
Thanks again, to all of you. =)
"Tragedy"
*RUclips HQ gets triggered*
"DEMONETIZE THAT RIGHT AWAY!"
RUclips is so BS sometimes :/
RUclips:
Filming a suacide victim deliberately? HELLLS YEAHH
Making a parody about the Logan Paul incident?
DWLETED
RUclips seem a bit touchy about this topic after their own tr*gedy last week
"DOUB-LE-LIFT - DOUB-LE-LIFT - DOUB-LE-LIFT" - I bet that chant was pretty damn exhilerating for Peter. Dude is a competitve maniac. Loved the great questions by Travis , and my favorite response by DL was the part about his confrontation for positive feedback, insightful stuff.

Always love Travis / Doublelift interviewers. Awesome ^^

The interviews with him have less dislikes than normal, is this a new trend?
great interview for sure :)
HuzzyGames omg Huzzy
ryanmov relax big fella
ryanmov are you 12? 😂
"I don't want to be a normal person. Nothing is going to stop me--- nothing"
Doublelift
this would make a great poster.
Whats a normal person tho? Hmmmm
Mannen 61 definitely nothing like doublelift
Mentality of a champion.
on point!
Love you Dlift

It is easier to criticize than it is to praise.
Yeah long time viewer here too, feel the same way man. You do a great job at capturing the emotion and character of the players while allowing them to be themselves.
Doublelift is a strong guy!
I'm glad he's alright! Congratulations to Doublelift and Team Liquid for the win!
yer from what i hear he wasnt the closest with his parents either, not saying he wanted that to happen to them but i dont think they where the nicest parents
It's still insanely depressing for him even more knowing that he admired his brother.
teemoIRL he fucking loved his parents I'm sure. Yeah his mom kicked him out, but at this point how could he hold any resentment for it? Dl and his mom made up a long time ago too. His parents have shown their support in the documentary Travis did on dl.
Elicast & Effaenrys Even more so, his brother convinced Dl's parents that he could go pro..
Love you doublelift! you're the best. I always pray to you when I play Ad
LOL wtf that's one hell of a ritual haha
thoughts and prayers don't h-

Doublelift is a man of focus, commitment, sheer will, like John Wick himself, no matter what, pushing forward
Kamil Koch and he once killed 3 men in a bar. With a foken pencil!
Before the final I told myself, if ANYONE in the world had the mental fortitude to carry on and win a final just after a tragedy on a scale like this, it would be doublelift. Didnt disappoint

I'm a 100T fan, but I can't be upset that DL won. He's so great.
Emma Izmaylov Both teams are great.. I find it's hard in nalcs because I like so many players across all the teams.
Thank you Peter! For being such an inspiration to me to not only be a better adc but be a better person. Congrats on your finals win and wish you luck on your future endeavors
Doublelift has my respect for taking this event I think literally the best he possibly could have taken it.
Great interview as always, thanks a lot Travis.
i remember when doublelift tweeted his "ill be the greatest american player and this post will make me accountable" and then other players where mocking him by posting the exact same thing (pretty sure sven was on it too). now that he beat them all is incredible and i only wish he can rub it in their faces
Was literally watching from the doors while this interview took place. Congrats Doublelift, you guys earned it for sure.
Greatest NA LCS player of all time, no question.
True but Bjergsen is technically an EU player. Looking at accomplisments and skill everyone knows that Bjergsen is by far the best that has ever been in the West
Luni Accomplishments, like ... World quarterfinals? Oh wait...

Crazy respect for Steve. Looking at a chance for his first ever title, and he prioritizes his player's well being without a second thought.
ast12321 I mean.... the amount of roster changes he’s had I don’t think he really cares at all...
Augmented Drummer that’s not the point ... he makes the changes to win ...
Lebrawn Jemz Obviously not caring about the players that aren’t helping him win and disposing of them.
Augmented Drummer do you even understand how competition works?
ReKinn Do you understand how caring for players works?
Incredibly professional interviewing from Travis when bringing up the tragedy in Doublelift's family. Keep up the great work!
the legend grows. perseverance through such real adversity. dedication. growth. best endemic NA player EVER
strong mentality and drive will get him far in life
I be came a Doublelift fan the day he replaced my favorite player Chauster.
Thank you
The man became a legend with this one
professional and chill interviewer and interviewee. Travis your brand has grown so much since I started watching you in 2011. and DL has gone from 0 trophies to winning everything

Tremendous growth from DL over the years. This week he just earned himself another fan.
I don't even want to call this an interview, it's too good for that.
win NA LCS with CLG > Got kicked to TSM > Win NA LCS with TSM > got kicked to TL > win NA LCS with TL
Natsu Dragneel got kicked to ???
good to see DL smiling, passionate and succeeding after such a tragedy.. this kind of no excuses attitude, performance and focus, also considering the circumstances, is a sign of a true legend!
Doublelift, you're phenomenal! Keep it up, and remember, we love you!
I wish all reporters were as amazing and sensitive as Travis! Much love
This is hands-down the best interview Travis has put out! Travislift as much synergy as any botlane I've seen.
Travis can you tell peter! I love him so much and that he is my idol, the reason why I play adc. He’s such a strong person and that all of his fans have nothing but pure love and support for him.
Doublelift #1 NA player of all time, and that's coming from a TSM fanboy.
Much love to Peter.
He seems to be keeping a solid composure. Good luck to him. I think everyone hopes he can have a happy life after his horrible family tragedy.
One of the best player! A true GOAT never backs down. We love you doublelift.
Peter is the definition of a Stoic. Love watching and listening to this guy! Congratulations Champion!
How hard was it to take the trophy from Impact in order to make the thumbnail?
KlivKernage impact’s poop hands got on it, hope no one kissed the trophy
They didnt. They just photoshopped DL's face on a picture of Impact hugging the trophy
What strength and courage to pick yourself up with the support of everyone. Dlift
My full respect to DL . After this tragedy of his family he was still capable to perform on stage. He was still confident to play on the top level and its just fucking awesome to see that he can smile in front of the camera. Just hat down in front of this man . respect
Amazing interview Travis. Not only are you so proficient at producing quality content, you seem to be a very great friend to Dlift
HumbleLift
I've been pretty down on TL all split. After hearing how supportive they've been of DL this past week, I'll never say another negative thing about them. I'm happy for their success. DL is a true competitor.
Great videos Travis. I always wished your outros could have a little more than just a "thanks and subscribe" though, something to look forward to at the end is nice, would probably get more people to click that button too.
Thanks for the interview, Travis. Only you could do that interview right, and you did it in an amazing way. So thank you, and thanks to DL for talking about it, in a smart way.
Current Na Lcs is like a sick anime.
gehteuch nichtsan so true though.
Why are you triggered?
Wait.. isnt that racist?
I'm basically only a fan of Dota esports wise, but god damn, a Travis and DoubleLift interview is ALWAYS worth a watch! Love these dudes together :)
Huge respect for Doublelift! Wish him all the best
Thank you Travis for giving a mature interview with DL that addressed what many people were thinking. Thank you DL.
A True champion, shows up even through tragedy.
I am so impressed and respect his confidence and drive. Peter, I will always be behind you.
We love u doublelift, and tks travis for having such a awesome interview with Doublelift
I see DL and Travis,
I press like
Can we all talk about how mature and respectable Peter has been? What a pro
It is amazing how DL coped with the situation, and thank you Travis for giving us an insight into the current run of things. Lots of love for the both of you, keep it up guys!
Very tasteful way to approach that subject Travis, well done.
So happy for him (and TL). Absolutely deserved win.
Good stuff, nice interview Travis
How come this interview brings tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat and DL talks like he's about to get a haircut, a terrible haircut......never stop never stopping Doublelift your family is in our thoughts.
4 TIME NA LCS CHAMPION
Dennis 5 now lol
No Dennis is right. It's 4. CLG 2015, TSM summer 2016, TSM 2017 summer, and TL spring
Jody Hader Ahh I forgot they lost 2016 spring
TSM won both splits in 17 so it's 5
but dl wasn't playing in spring 2017
I like how close DL is with his team. :) Great interview!
Been following LOL scene from S2, Doublelift become so professional and mature as a player and also a person. GG
Much respect to Doublelift
So glad to see peter smiling and hopeful despite everything. man, this guys mindset is solid.
For the first time ever. It feels like doublelift has actually matured a ton. He has learned so much about dealing with team mates properly. So proud of him.
Absolutely amazing. I have so much respect for this man.
travis lookin more and more classy
I noticed how much he mentions his team now compared to all the "me me me" from before. We don't live on the earth alone and we grow by learning and helping one another. Happy it all worked out in the end.
He's so smiley and happy even after everything, he's so pure and it makes me emotional. We don't deserve Peter
YES I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. Much love DL!
Wow, First time I've seen DL beeing humble and not in over his head. GZ on the win :)
@ Travis, your interviewing is underrated.
this is so crazy i dont know.. after everything thats happened last week, how is he able to be so normal? I dont understand. I guess he is a really strong person.
I was thinking about that as well. If something happened to me.. God knows how long it would take to recover.
For some people, throwing yourself into your work is the best way to move past terrible things like that.
It's almost creepy how he doesn't show any sadness, that's why at least fake it.
damn son
Sprunkers yeah that’s called being a sociopath, my friend
Congratulation Doublelift !!!
nothing is going to stop you to compete ! Let's go !!
I love you Peter. I love you Travis.
The fact that he is composed after having that happen to his family is testament to his mental fortitude.
I truly have no idea how Doublelift was able to compete this weekend. The guy has some serious mental fortitude. As if I already didn't respect the guy for always being upfront, telling it like it is, this awful tragedy happens and he turns around and 3-0's. Incredible.
Gotta love DL's mindset. Positive even through the hardest of times, props.
Excellent interview Travis, DL is a champ!
Doublelift is the best. I will follow and cheer for any team he's on! Way to crush 100t
Doublelift is such an inspiration
Love and support you as always Peter
Great interview Travis!
Very happy to see Doublewise win and hear his thoughts.
He has matured a lot from when he first stepped onto the scene. It has been great to watch.
