I can't get over how old-school this feels for your channel. I've been watching you for years and this video has such strong throwback vibes, I absolutely love it. Your channel, much like Vanguard, continues to grow, yet when overDress sparked that feeling you initially had when you first found Vanguard, it sent you right back to your roots with digital DF greeting us, that classic logo background and a bunch of cards and decks flying across the screen to the sweet sound of your excited voice breaking down all the combos. This is the nostalgia V Series needed, and I'm even more hype going forward even through this "step back" presentation here. Thank you and congrats, sir, for everything in the past that brought us to this point and everything here and now that makes this "old but new" aura feel so special.

Bastion deck really awakens my Morikawa soul. Running more than 20 grade 3 might seem wrong, but then you remember it's like running 20 extra stand triggers. God I love that deck. Also Brandt Gate being the field swarm deck really surprised me on release. Easy access to 15k beaters and boosters is crazy good.
Trickstar as starter is pretty bad. You're losing the much needed second turn draw and you already always get at least one Trickstar, soulblasting the FV one to then revive it requires hard drawing the normal Vairina who you don't want to overDress early game meaning you'll often not soulblast that trickstar until turn 3 so you don't even get the payoff until turn 4, that is ridiculously slow, you're more likely to just normal draw a second trickstar by then.
@@elin111 I disagree. I believe Trickstar is a very valid starting Vanguard. The increased chance to Overdress two times by grade 3 is extremely valuable. The two Overdress units can be very oppressive if going first. The main way I look at it is you can consistently get two Trickstar or sometimes get a second draw. Generally consistency is more important in my opinion. Yet alone you are more likely to draw more Overdress units than additional Trickstar considering you will run 10-12 Overdress units. Both options are very valid for different reasons.
@@elin111 what are you talking about? You soulblast the trickstar when u ride g3 then call it with nirvana. You now have 2 trickstar on field and 1 vairina in hand guaranteed at g3 ride turn. The only thing u lose is 1 draw from the regular starter.
@@elin111 I've seen at least one other person say they'd rather have the starter draw when going second than the early trickstar in the drop zone, but I think that's a beautiful testament of the depth in this game now. There's gonna be some players who want that draw and others who want that Trickstar advantage. I'm in the camp that would run Trickstar as the starter because there's a reason they made him Grade 0, plus it's an advantage to turbo into at least 1 if not 2 Vairina since the ride line searches for one with the soul blast anyway.
There was nothing I wanted to hear about more than the return of the Dimensional Police play style in this video! It will be different, but it's still fun.
Already made both keter decks and I'm having a lot of fun, tho there are some changes I would personally do. For Bastion, not hitting into the g3 that gives boost can be a pretty awkward turn especially after using alden, so I would drop the g1 angel for more rooks as a 15k booster. I feel like running the defensive order as well instead of the column wipe, but that is matchup dependant of course I would use that against vairina or the mirror. As for sorceress, I would drop the g3 restander and the g1 countercharger for the g3 that goes into soul to give 10k, I noticed the deck soulblasts more than it counterblasts, and when u do ur persona ride turn u cant reliable use fossad's ability when it has a crit and ur opponent is at 4. The g3 into soul can power ur fossad as well. Removing the g3 restander also lowers the cb usage, but worth running for a more aggro style of play, especially with OT.
The Nirvana build is similar to what I'm using for post Festival Collection Nircana since I remove the 10k booster and 1 copy of Vairina for 3 copies of Mirin and an extra copy of the Blitz Order and keep Sunrise egg as a starter just in case I go second.
Yo I didn't realize you could do that reviving Zorga play. Actually mind blowing. Also, I only play like 1 or 0 or the mill 4 cause it honestly screws me more than helps me. I prefer Malice as a 1 of and I also play the new unconditional 10k booster instead of additional Rancor Chains. I also play Cyrus as another way to soul blast and get your soul into the drop for revives while also building a board and *hopefully* not top decking a trigger off of him. I also use the 18k attacker Dragon for easier magic numbers since 18k makes a pretty big difference compared to 15k with Husk.
At the moment I feel like the 10k booster helps more than Chevalstud in the Prison deck. Allows you to early rush better and makes your G3 columns always hit the numbers you need.
Overdress is really fun both in playing and building the decks. Its amazing that out of the 10 deck styles I want to build 8 of the decks. So far my only complaints in terms of deck building are that grade 1 pgs feel very restrictive as thats 4 more cards that are seemingly guaranteed in the deck and that the trigger line ups feel a little 2 samey at the moment. Hopefully we can get some decks that utilize the front triggers more and also more variations in sentinels like draw pgs or the g cc pgs.
Its so nice to see Vanguard again wish a new fresh coat of paint after a 2 year hiatus (did i spell that correctly?) . And even though no one here in Indonesia plays vanguard anymore, I still love it.
Indonesian here, I think you should go to the Facebook group (Indonesia Cardfight) and ask if there's a local player nearby, because from what I saw Jakarta, Bandung & Palembang are the biggest community in Indonesia at the moment.
@@DifferentFight I live in Medan and sadly most of the local stores that I go to have stopped selling cards or just closed. I used to play Vanguard with school friends but they've grown out of it.
Interesting that the Zorga you come across is so different than what my group has tested. We ultimately found the Blitz Order to be a drag on the deck and understood that Zorga doesn't need to play extra copies of himself at all. The power gain order does a lot of the work that a persona ride does. We deduced that the Zorga deck might need another set of support to buff it in the long run. Currently, there is a hilarious chance of deck out against anything that can resist a single wave of blitz from it. Decent vs Baromagnus though. As for the Seraph Snow deck, I tested with a mix of the Nova-esque grade 2 as well as another one that wasn't mentioned. The one that can be called after discarding it if you have a set order. Might not have the power columns you want, but it did make columns. Also went with a full set of the counter charger, as the Grade 2 and 3 rearguard options that can imprison might add up upon replaying them. Stoicheia has a rough time against a deck that can wipe the board turn 3, but it gets worse when it is consistent turn after turn. Local group has calculated that the build is going to be one of the front runners until at least set 2.
Cant wait to try Hexaorb.. Because in my locals all keter player is looking for alden for their bastion.. might as well having fun in hexa until alden not that scarce anymore..
Tried 6 worlds, mulligan all 5, never found one until I died LOL. So I played 8 worlds and yes, always Abyssal Dark Night *Flick*. Like your idea and feels like I need more pressure, but it's really annoying when you lose because you only have one world playing. How do you think about 8 front on Snow? Think side would need more PAWA and could be nice way to control CB on opponents. Doesn't feels like draw would be nice on this deck though, triple-drive often nearly outed the deck.
No I don't think she is. 12k is a really low power to hit compared to other grade 2 rearguards. The only thing good about her is from hand imprison on ride.
Players complained that Fronts were Accel deck exclusive but now that they're available to every deck we can see WHY they were Accel exclusive, without those extra front row circles Fronts simply aren't impactful enough.

Honestly I think a full Zorga deck won't cost you more than like $50, the singles look super cheap in Japan and usually those prices stay the same in the West as well once the English release drops It's about the same as a AAA video game
After trying them all myself I like the Varina deck and both brandt gate decks, the stochia decks are cool but not for me and I personally don't like dark States or kater sanctuary
@@machina5 grade 2 being in a side deck guaranteed means a lot of build will choose to literally only play triggers, and grade 3 unless there’s a broken grade 2. Bastion looks like what the overdress could turn into if bushiroad isn’t thoughtful of card design
@@thetcgpulse I mean Bastion is literally designed to be that sort of Morikawa.dek build, and your guarding becomes less consistent for it (though not as much as it would've been without Kokabiel) so it's honestly fine? Other decks don't really have a reason to go *that* hard on running g3s exclusively, and the new freedom in deck ratios the ride deck provides is pretty welcome imo.
If anything decks are more likely to reduce the amount of G3s they run unless they are really good or the deck is specifically built around it like Bastion, G2s are only 5k shields but 5k shield is better than no shield.

Bastion just happens to be a deck where the g3s are godlike, as you said, and that's purely to enable the reckless "half your cards are g3" setup. g3s that aren't twin driving are mostly a liability otherwise.
The worst thing about orfist now though is it has a really unhealthy match up against seraph snow because your opponent can unimprison the card imprisoned with the ride chain,retire it with a token, rely on tokens, and then almost nothing in the seraph snow deck functions, not to mention that means against orfist the only way to build a 23k column without persona ride or trigger luck is with fairtigar or if you run the 10k booster and boost a grade 3 but yeah orfist can go through almost the whole match up with zero cards imprisoned because of its token play style and my opinion it is wrong to make a deck that can completely invalidate a deck thats supposed to continue to thrive if don't fix this at least by the next set they are going to get all sorts of comments why they chose to make tokens a thing in d standard now or why they haven't made units to combat the issue
There will always be bad MU, if you actually play tested you would see that just like orfist had a good prison mu, prison does exceptionally well agaisnt the nirvana deck making them play extremely unoptimally
@@dylangremory5750 that is true but even in those moments decks have always had something but seraph has literally almost nothing for those match ups nirvana when faced against seraph snow can still win but seraph snow vs orfist you almost can't win it has neither numbers or any agressive tools that would be strong enough to give it a chance
@@dylangremory5750lets put it this way when seraph snow goes up against orfist unless things magically go right seraph snows attacks will be stopped with 1 damage trigger no guardians needed and neither old vanguard or v era vanguard made it that easy back then if you could make a column it usually made it so that column could hit over at least 1 damage trigger I find it extremely healthy that all takes to make seraph snow nickel and dime their way just for a 1% chance at victory is bad rng when facing orfist
Dang man, I just wanna be able to play my aqua force as aqua force, not the bleeding octonaughts and furry friends. More build variety, i guess, but I just hope that each..."clan" still gets it's full showing. At least the unique ones. Dragon empire and the paladins are literally all the same clan that do half a thing differently, but the more specialized clans might end up bleeding away down the drain. And god damn it of course Bermuda get's it's own "nation", instead of a clan known for it's solidarity that also lives in the ocean. Aqua Force fan rant over, danke.

Why 3 Rancors?? You have a 10k booster in Stoich providing it to boosting regardless of using an order or not.

The worst thing about orfist now though is it has a really unhealthy match up against seraph snow because your opponent can unimprison the card imprisoned with the ride chain,retire it with a token, rely on tokens, and then almost nothing in the seraph snow deck functions, not to mention that means against orfist the only way to build a 23k column without persona ride or trigger luck is with fairtigar or if you run the 10k booster and boost a grade 3 but yeah orfist can go through almost the whole match up with zero cards imprisoned because of its token play style and my opinion it is wrong to make a deck that can completely invalidate a deck thats supposed to continue to thrive if don't fix this at least by the next set they are going to get all sorts of comments why they chose to make tokens a thing in d standard now or why they haven't made units to combat the issue
There will always be bad MU, if you actually play tested you would see that just like orfist had a good prison mu, prison does exceptionally well agaisnt the nirvana deck making them play extremely unoptimally
@@dylangremory5750 that is true but even in those moments decks have always had something but seraph has literally almost nothing for those match ups nirvana when faced against seraph snow can still win but seraph snow vs orfist you almost can't win it has neither numbers or any agressive tools that would be strong enough to give it a chance
@@dylangremory5750lets put it this way when seraph snow goes up against orfist unless things magically go right seraph snows attacks will be stopped with 1 damage trigger no guardians needed and neither old vanguard or v era vanguard made it that easy back then if you could make a column it usually made it so that column could hit over at least 1 damage trigger I find it extremely healthy that all takes to make seraph snow nickel and dime their way just for a 1% chance at victory is bad rng when facing orfist

Dang man, I just wanna be able to play my aqua force as aqua force, not the bleeding octonaughts and furry friends. More build variety, i guess, but I just hope that each..."clan" still gets it's full showing. At least the unique ones. Dragon empire and the paladins are literally all the same clan that do half a thing differently, but the more specialized clans might end up bleeding away down the drain.
And god damn it of course Bermuda get's it's own "nation", instead of a clan known for it's solidarity that also lives in the ocean.
