- You've narrowly survived a claustrophobic chase in an endless tunnel. Without any choice, you took the nearest shelter. Unfortunately, these strangely colored corridors don't seem much safer. God knows how long these worn speakers have been idly blasting this uncanny medley. There's no lyrics in this song, yet you occasionally hear chatter from far down the halls.
There isn't much to say on this that hasn't already been said in the normal version! This is simply the instrumental version of 'You Day!' that you hear earlier in the game throughout Level Fun.

the replacement of the cut for "fourth wall break" is absolutely the best part of the video for this one

The way the instrumental plays on the normal level fun fits so well. It feels like you are only passing by the level, not going deep into it, only taking a glance at the horrors it has. Then, once you return, you are at the heart of the level, with the backrooms themselves singing the whole song to you.
aaaand this is also great for karaoke of course :D
This is the first thing in this game that has truly given me that liminal space feeling. Great job

But as a nightmare 1st gen player, the insanity of hearing “row your boat” or “abc’s” will never leave me.
So, why was the music changed in the first Fun level? This one is way better, but the previous one definitely drove more people insane and gave them PTSD

Copyright issues. Fancy also didn't add Level 974 (Kitty's House) due to copyright issues.
Since Fancy got the previous songs off of the RUclips library, he wanted something new and original. Specially tailored for the game. Nothing to do with copyright, since those old songs were royalty free.

So, so, so, creepy. The song you would think is a kid’s birthday party song from the 90s or early 2000s, but then you listen to the lyrics of it.. and I was shocked by them. I think I’m not the only one who was shocked by how creepy they are, right?

I am working on my last level before release and it is the one with my run for ur life style song but instead of level !-!, it’s level 666.1, it looks epic and I am gonna need a couple months before i put out the OSTs. @@ins0mic I’m back after 2 months and let me tell you, it’s been an interesting and challenging journey throughout figuring all the song layouts for my escape sequence, making all the effects to make the music sound realistic during playthrough, and genuinely trying to make some decent sounding soundtracks. I have jus published a song that isn’t in the game but is a teaser image of level ! and a song to kinda fit the theme of it. I hope u see the song and give me some advice and feedback. @@ins0mic I have just published my game trailer and I am VERY PLEASED with how it turned out! I’m hoping u get to look into it and give me some feedback on how the game looks and how the song in the back sounds, there are 2 songs I made in the trailer, the main in the majority of the video, and at the very end, the song used in the trailer isn’t actually in the game, but the other one is, so please watch it and give me feedback. Also, I’m trying to figure out how to play “You Day!” On the piano. Turns out, I’ve been playing the chords all wrong, but I’m starting to learn more and more the further I go into this incredible song, i am able to do the beginning and (the parts without lyrics) with both hands! But when the lyrics play, I figure out a part for my left hand while the right plays the cursed singing.. I have run got up to 2:00 in and I’m stuck on the key change. I’ll post an update video soon, anyway. Please look at my trailer, and thank u for making songs that I LOVE listening to!!!

I honestly wish you'd also upload the filtered versions of the songs. I think the songs sound much better in game than they do on the official version.
This arrangement is just as bizarre as the lyrics. The notes are hard to pick out even as the instrumental.

I'm so glad, thank you lmao! I wanted the melody to be catchy & easy-ish to remember, while also being backed by various harmonious yet dissonant chords. If I had to guess, I'd say the song mainly consists of 7th, diminished, and suspended chords. In general though, I just placed a buncha notes in FL Studio until it sounded fitting in my opinion.
That sneeze in the middle of the song is perfect.

These instruments are off but sound good at the same time. It's kind of weird and off putting but I like it. And it also feels kind of nostalgic, probably because of the instruments used. I love this song and please keep making straight up BANGERS like this one!
Thank youuu I'm so glad it gives that vibe!! ;; I made sure to use as little realistic instruments as possible, and relied mainly on lo-fi soundfonts (like I have with most of the OSTs). That's the EXACT feeling I'm going for with the instruments.

Hmm... I think you're either talking about two things. The power-drill esque noise between sections, are those lip-shaped fan-things you blow into. Mine's quite old, so it sounded perfectly janky for the song. If you're talking about the intro, then that's a kazoo!

It’s probably on kontakt 5, that’s what ins0mic uses
YOOOO thank you so much!! I used Serum to synthesize it! It's essentially a sawtooth waveform with unison and a lowpass filter with high resonance (for that vowely sound). Layered on top of that main bass, is another saw wave being FMed (frequency modulated) with _another_ sawtooth. The FMing gives the bass that strange quivery raspy sound.
It's one of my favorite bass synths I've made, so this comment really made my day. ;0;
I wish you could replay certain levels after beating them in singleplayer because i really wanna listen to the song in game and replay the level itself.

Unfortunately not, at least none that I know of. :/ I think most of this song would be impossible to play on real instruments, as I just placed a bunch of MIDI notes until it sounded right in my ears. But thank you!

Glad you asked! It's... Kinda in this grey area between royalty free & copyrighted. You can use it in RUclips videos & various other forms of content. Unless it's another video game, or commercial film (like, theatrical/industry releases). Mainly because these OST's were specially tailored to Escape the Backrooms, and it wouldn't make much sense to have them in other products.
In short: Don't worry about Content ID snatching it!
